    Pros +

    • The pools, beach, hotel layout, food options, staff... really everything!
    • The braekfast!!!
    • I spent 10 days/nights full-board at Robinson Khao Lak and had a good and relaxing holiday. The meals were very taste with a sufficient choice (with drinks, even alcoholic ones, included for all meals) and prices at the bar very reasonable. Entertainment in the evening included quizzes, bingo, discos/DJs and some bands playing.

    Cons -

    • The Wifi coverage was spotty, but in the long run, that's probably a good thing - more time NOT looking at your phone :)
    • LOcation
    • Although meals were very good in general, quality was inconsistent in some cases: in the fruit section for instance, the mango pieces were practically tasteless on a couple of days, and in any case still with skin. I had much better tasting mango pieces (without skin) included with my meals in the small hotel I stayed in whilst in Bangkok the days before. Also, only two sorts of yoghurts were available at Robinson for breakfast, a natural one and one 'fruit' yoghurt (that actually contained no fruits but only fruit juice). It would be good if a greater variety of yoghurts could be offered and varied from day to day. The (almost daily) greeting of the guests by the (German) hotel staff (including the club manager) when entering the restaurant for dinner is in principle a nice gesture, but why with such a serious facial expression. A bit of smile, like all of the Thai staff, would be much more positive here.I also do not find it very appealing that waste water from the hotel is discharged through some plastic pipes directly onto the beach (notice the blue plastic pipes in the attached photos). Robinson state on their website that they use cleaned and processed waste water to irrigate the gardens on their property, but disposing this amongst the guests on the beach is still another thing. What if I small child drinks from this when they feel thirsty? The water coming out there is certainly no drinking water as the sand near the end of the pipes (where the water was coming out) was clearly discoloured. I any case, these waste water pipes destroy somewhat the general impression of a 'dream beach'.Lastly, music from the bar area during discos etc. (which was practically every other day) was much too loud and lasted until about midnight. Even though my room was at least 100m away, it was impossible to sleep without ear plugs before midnight on these days.

The atmosphere in the dining hall is not very pleasant, more like an university food dispensing place, only one white and red wine to choose from, loud and hectic atmosphere all around. The beach chaise lounges are hard to lay on, no padding at all and people smoke in the beach area open and unbothered every day, dropping cigarettes in the sand galore. We wanted to attend a water jogging class at 11:30 am on 04/15, rain started at 11:25 and the instructor didn’t bother to show or cancel the class at all, the rain stopped 5 minutes later completely and we tried to contact the instructor (Vanessa), unsuccessful and frustrated! It seems that Robinson KHAO LAK is laking the so well known Thai mentally when it comes to service and friendliness, mediocre customer experience when it comes to hospitality and service quality

    - Very spacious hotel room- Lovely staff- Dive center right at the hotel- Great variety of breakfast options- Beautiful beach and pool area

Robinsons has every thing you need to enjoy a true get away. The beach is like a post card, the staff are friendly, the activities are varied- we particularly enjoyed the Yoga and Pilates. While we were there a special trainer was in residence- Nadia and it was extremely informative and physically engaging to learn more whilst also exercising.Robinsons are a chain of resorts across the world run by a German company- most classes are conducted bilingual.A resort specific app lets you book classes and let you know what special events are happening through the day and into the evening. We stayed in a pool villa which was perfect and chose the fully inclusive dining package- there was so much amazing food to choose from and wine and beer available with lunch and dinner.

We visited for the first time about 7 years ago and it hasn’t changed- so some parts could do with a refresh

Excellent service, spacious bungalow with a comfortable bed, amazing dinners and of course the beautiful beach not limited to the hotel territory.

    9MurrayPosted on: 3-7-2025

The food was good, although the first night there was an outdoor buffet which I found the food to be poor or disappointing. The other meals which were indoor were much better.

The rooms could perhaps do with a refresh but they were spacious.

Old but very clean property with (in our case) awesome bungalows. Very kind staff and attentive cleaning service. Delicious food. Various sport activities.

We've been traveling in Southeast Asia for a few weeks now, so we know quite well what it costs to have a wash done. 100-140 Bath in our case. Robinson would have charged 3000 Bath. That cannot be justified with better service. At dinners we found the desserts selection very restrictive. It was either all chocolate, or all cream cakes, all coconut… a bit more various selection in tastes would be preferable. The staff repeatedly mentioned that the club wasn’t fully booked, so we requested an extension on our last two days and were offered the regular rate. If there’s available capacity, I would expect a discount or, at least, not to be asked multiple times. In the end, Robinson preferred to leave the room empty rather than offer a discount.

Beautiful grounds, food, concept, beach, entertainment .. and above all the lovely generous people who run the place with heart and thoughtfulness . Thank you ?

Superb beach. Breakfast buffet was extensive and very well done. Staff wonderful.

Impossible to get a beach chair by the sea front as other guests would leave out towels very early (not actually using the beach chairs for several hours after "claiming" them).

Beds themselves were comfortable and the room was very large with 2 spacious balconies. Lots of privacy even with the boys sleeping in the lounge. They put 2 comfortable beds in the lounge for the boys and there was still a large couch and dining table. Extremely spacious and perfect for a family of 4. Lots of cupboard space, huge bathroom with seperate dressing area.Seperate toilet and washbasin.Beach was beautiful and the pools were magnificent. Welcome drinks and scented cloths with biscuits were brilliant. They were very accommodating about checking out later, kept baggage and gave wifi until our transfer arrived. The evening entertainment was superb and lots of fun every night. The variety at mealtimes was excellent. Lots for the children to do and kids club was great for 9 and 10 year olds. The kids club staff were fantastic and went the extra mile with handwritten notes and thai tea/chocolate milk on checkout. Beach towels were plentiful. Some great little beach bars along the beach as well. Highly recommended, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We really loved this resort. These are tiny things that could improve it even more.Kitchenette did not have plates, utensils, bottle opener etc although it had lots of space and a microwave. Pillows were a bit hard, but that's personal preference. Full board only allowed drinks over mealtimes: beer and wine. We were aware of this beforehand, but it would be an improvement to offer an all-inclusive option with cocktails etc over all times as itsfar from a convenience store or lots of external restaurants. This resort is so large and fabulous that it's better to really make use of all the facilities and evening entertainment. ?

The location, the quality of everything, the food and very friendly staff. Definitely 5* shoutout to JP in the hotels store who put me at ease about everything - thankyou xx

I cannot find fault with anything. It was a near perfect stay, even as an English solo traveller.

    7SuzettePosted on: 12-24-2024

Private beach, diverse facilities, breakfast options and the outdoor shower at our bungalow accommodation

The shuttle to Khao Lak town is not complementary which was a suprise as we'd travelled in the region where at other hotels the shuttle to town is complementary. The very loud entertainment between 9.30pm and midnight was difficult and made more frustrating because we booked premium type bungalow to spoil ourselves for a long hard working year.More details around the vibrant entertainment programs need to be made clear in the booking.com. details of description of the resort. Had we known this we may have booked elsewhere. We did complain about the noise, but nothing was done about it, despise being assured that someone would be in touch with us.

Beautiful, quiet beach in a stunning area. Much quieter and prettier than Phuket (in my opinion). Room was lovely and clean, beach bar location was amazing and the staff there were super attentive and friendly too (especially Bee, Sarah, and a young man whose name I sadly didn’t get).
