Haadson Resort - Khaolak, Phangnga

The grounds were nicely kept. It was a quiet part of Khoa Lak and across from the sea and surrounded by nature.

A bit out dated

What's not to like about the Haadson Resort? The breakfast was much better than expected, with some dishes remaining constant throughout our stay and others following more of a rotation for some nice variety. We also had dinner there several times and everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The location of the resort is great, since it's away from the crowds that are just a few hundred meters to the north. The entire resort is well designed and rather relaxing. The pool is nice. The free use of beach chairs and umbrellas was an added bonus. The staff members, cleaners, and gardeners were mostly all very friendly. We stayed a few days longer than anticipated because we enjoyed our stay so much. I would definitely book the Haadson Resort again!

About the only thing I can think of that I disliked was perhaps the fact that there was a fairly big gap between the bottom of the door and the floor, because that allowed light in as well as geckos and such. There was also the occasional mosquito or two. Nevertheless, we had a fantastic stay!

Incredibly beautiful grounds. Great breakfast and wonderful staff. The pool was amazing and the beach is so calm. There is half a dozen restaurants near by. Highly recommend this hotel. Stay in a villa so you can watch all the birds and wildlife around the river.

The road with some trafic you have to cross with children to go to the beach. You have to be careful.

Fantastic little private resort. A bit dated but clean and friendly. It’s a long way from a townsite and a little expensive to get into town for shopping/ dining.

We loved it. Our room was at the back of the resort in the 1st floor. We were level with a lot of the trees and could sit on the balcony and watch birds and squirrels. So calm. Close to a pristine beach. We swam every day.

Nowhere to refill water bottles. The bar staff were really good about refilling for us but it would have been nice to have a water dispenser so we couldd just refill our own.

Ceiling fans for the verandah would make it much more comfortable. Pool area requires upgrade with toilet doors and facilities painted and professionally presented, inclusion of vending machine with drinks and towel that fit the length of the lounges

Great location on an amazing stretch of beach. Lovely jungle type feel to the grounds, rooms comfortable and everything worked, some things looked a bit shabby but that didn't matter.Breakfast offered plenty of choice.

Very peaceful place to stay. Lovely to wake to the sounds of wildlife. Hotel very close to a beautiful sandy beach for swimming. Wonderful buffet style breakfast and cook to order. The pool area was very relaxing

It’s a long way from Khao Lak so trips were expensive. Advice/help from reception staff was lacking

The hotel is a bit run down. No TV - I must have missed that in the info - it was fine but we stayed quite a few days and it would have been nice! Would have appreciated cushions on the balcony. Stairs to the upstairs rooms are not safe - narrow ans steep. Breakfast is good. Staff are lovely. Pool is great though needs some repair. I have loved in Asia a long time and usually give a lot of leeway, but I thought the price was high for this room.

Great location - jungle garden, so close to a beautiful stretch of quiet beach, next to 3 local restaurants. Stunning swimming pool. Loved the outdoor shower. Delicious breakfasts

The location was ok, a short walk to the beach but we were in accommodation with the furthest walk. The countryside surrounding the accommodation was stunning. The beach was clean.

Firstly, we were greeted with a smile and thought, ok this is nice. Then we walked through the grounds and noticed there were a lot of stagnant water ponds which looked pretty awful and attract mosquitos, but hey, we can overlook that if the accommodation is clean and fresh. We were shown to our room which was on the top floor of a series of 4 accommodations together. It was dated and old, dirty and smelt of sweat. The bed was rock hard and the bedding stunk of sweat from other people. There were stains on the bedding and I quite honestly gagged from the whole scene and smell of the room. Nothing like the pictures looked. The balcony door lock was behind a mosquito door which didn't pull back enough to get your hand around to lock the door and we struggled to open and lock it. There were gaps in the front door which left us vulnerable to mosquitos getting in at night. The towels were also stained. The smell was musty and sweaty. The worst thing was, just as my husband and I had got dressed to go out for the evening (on our first night) a member of staff walked in with two backpackers. Just walked into our room. We were mortified and shocked! We couldn't sleep all night with fear of being intruded upon again. We left after that one night! No way is this a hotel with 4* and 5* reviews! We have requested our money back and have only been offered 2/5 nights refund.

We had a great stay in Haadson, the staff were so lovely!Additionally, they have a great breakfast and a nice pool area. Absolutely, loved the greenery in the resort and the beach across the road.

Beautiful resort in a lovely setting. We stayed in 2 lakeside villas which were very spacious with comfortable beds.Very peaceful and across a small road from a lovely beach which was clean and uncrowded. No problems swimming in the sea.Breakfast had a good choice and was plentiful.Staff were very friendly and attentive if needed and the rooms were cleaned daily.The swimming pool was clean and in a mostly shaded area if you want to escape the heat and sun of the beach!A lovely place for chilling out at the end our trip to Thailand - I’d stay again.

Quite quiet nearby - a shuttle bus to Khao Lak centre would be good (about 15 minutes in a taxi)
