Khaolak Forest Resort

Everything was clean and new. The staff are really nice and helpful. Breakfast was good for the price we paid. They do have a coffee machine which is really good but a bit slow as many of them are in. Thailand

No cushions on the sun loungers and not that many of them either

The pool villa we stayed in was excellent. Well presented, clean, bright and fresh. A really enjoyable stay. Situated in a peaceful location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Good variety of local Thai restaurants nearby.

The location is a good 25 minute walk to the beach so in the humid heat made for an uncomfortable walk. A mode of transport preferred. It¿s a very busy road to cross as a pedestrian.

Loved this property so much, we ended up extending for four extra days. It was comfortable and quiet. The staff was extremely nice. The hotel shuttle was convenient. Walking distance to restaurants and the beach. Will definitely be back!

We had to move rooms our last night to the C building, where the WiFi was less than great BUT I’d still come back.

A beautiful place with such helpful staff. Very peaceful and just the ultimate in relaxation and getting away from it all. A very good quality hotel for not a huge price tag, would definitely stay again.

Would have liked a bar and restaurant on site so as not to have to treck into town.

This place is amazing if you need to chill out! The surroundings are beautiful and the rooms are lovely. Great pool!! 15 minute walk to Khao Lak town. Staff are outstanding.

Only suggestions would be to have coffee available on site during the day but really no problem as there is a cafe next door.

Lovely Resort in Khao Lak - perfect location about 20 min walk from Khao Lak Beach. We did not want to stay on overtouristy and hectic main drag and this was a great and quiet location exactly as advertised. The road to the beach goes through "downtown", so you will see you're not missing out on anything. Rooms were large and clean, WiFi worked perfectly, staff was super friendly and helpful. We arrived from Koh Phayam and arranged the car with a driver through the staff here - they offered better prices than 12goAsia, the ride from Ranong went perfectly fine, so we also booked the next ride with them, to take us all the way down towards Koh Mook (we checked and once again they offered better prices). We also arranged a day trip to Khao Sok National Park through them - it went great! Loved the breakfast: they had both local and Western food, plus the egg station.

Room was just okay, a bit small compared to others, had to pay for extra pillows, lots of ants and mosquito in the room ("forest"), breakfast that day was 6/10.

As others have mentioned, the greenery around the hotel is beautiful and extremely well tended to. The pools were very clean. The bed was comfortable and the bungalows are spacious.

There were a few things that we felt let down by: - On arrival we were told that there would be a 3% charge for card payments - we had not come across this at other hotels of a similar price, and we felt it was excessive. The hotel is too expensive for people to realistically pay by cash.- The room was not completely clean - perhaps our standards are high, but we found multiple hairs on the floor and bed. Additionally, the bathroom was full of flies, which multiplied even whilst we kept all windows and doors closed.- The AC was very noisy.- The pool around the bungalows is more of a paddling pool than a proper pool - great for kids but worth noting if you are an adult.- We found that the quality of the breakfast food was mediocre, and the spread large but often depleted and not topped up quickly enough by the staff.- Front desk staff, although friendly, were not incredibly helpful. For example, they could not recommend any local tour companies or restaurants.- The hotel has a minibus which they offer as a taxi for short distances, but the price varied for the same journey and the front desk staff insisted on being paid in cash directly. One time we asked to go to the beach and the front desk staff asked the driver to take us to a specific spot (the staff said it would be the ideal place for us). It turns out we couldn't even access the beach from this spot and we ended up walking for 20 minutes, so not the end of the world but somewhat a waste of money.Overall we felt that we were being taken on a bit of a ride and didn't feel that the experience was worth the price we paid.

The pool and gardens were beautiful and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was walking distance of restaurants, laundry, markets and most things you would need. Khao Lak beach was 20 minute walk, but that part of beach is mostly large resorts. We liked that beach for sunset, but staying a whole day. We liked Coconut Beach for the whole day. Based on reviews about the breakfast, my expectations were met. The breakfast was repetitive but fine. We brought our own avocados, other fruit and oat milk which changed things up a little.

Would be wonderful if breakfast included a larger variety of fruit and fresh juice, more tea options. Also, I noticed a hotel shuttle van in the parking lot. Would have been wonderful if the hotel offered transportation to Coconut Beach for example, even for a fee. Would have been more cost effective to share transportation with other guests going to beach in morning and returning in afternoon.

Beautiful gardens and setting. Great position near everything but quiet.Local feel and hotel quite small and felt more boutique.Breakfast good and reasonable choice.Plenty to do in walking distance and some great restaurants that were good value.Air con and fridge quiet.Staff very friendly.

Very new and modern, super clean and lovely details! The garden and pool are beautiful.They allow you to store your lugagge when checking out and use their shower in the Spa!

Nothing to complain... Breakfast was just average, but at least they make fresh egg meals.
