Chongfah Resort Khao Lak

We had an amazing 10-day stay with a group of friends at Chongfah Beach Resort.This beautiful boutique hotel overlooks the Andaman Sea and offers a peaceful, intimate atmosphere. The infinity-edge pool is long and inviting — perfect for gazing out over the water.We stayed in a sea-view bungalow with a stunning outlook, a private patio, and wonderfully comfortable sunbeds. The room was spotless and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed: robes, hairdryer, coffee and tea facilities, quality toiletries, plus the bonus of an outdoor shower and spa bath.Great location on the beach and easy walking to other restaurants and the markets.But what truly made our stay special was the staff. Because the resort is small, the team quickly learns your preferences and makes you feel genuinely cared for. From reception to housekeeping to the restaurant, everyone was warm, friendly, and attentive. It was such a joy to arrive at breakfast and be greeted with smiles — and our regular coffee order already remembered!

Rooms are well kept but looking a little dated in some areas.

we really enjoyed our few days stay here. it is close to shops and the market but far enough away to feel a bit out of the way. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and knew us by name in a short time. The resort is relatively small which was another plus. Breakfast was really good too.

It was windy while we were there so no beach for me - but that was because of the season.

Wonderful staff! So friendly and welcoming. It’s really the thoughtful small touches that made this such a wonderful place to stay. We stayed for a few nights and then left for a diving trip returning to the property 5 days later. The resort loaned me a towel and a beach tote for our dive trip, they stored our bags, and laundered our traveling clothes for the trip home. When we returned from diving, our bags and clothes were in the room. It’s the small touches like that which makes this such a wonderful resort. As a person in the hospitality business, I can recommend this resort without reservation! Enjoy!

The Thai food was excellent here, certainly some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff is amazing and friendly. The location is quiet and serene. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well appointed.

No beach but there is one a couple hundred meters away.

Such a charming hotel by the sea, close to shops, bars and restaurants. Small hotel, therefore very quiet and relaxing. The whole team is SO adorable, welcoming, available. Special thanks to Joy, Noey and Pea. Great food as well. We definitely recommend a stay there.

Nothing really

It’s a great location - right on the beach while restaurants and shops are within walking distance. The staff were all friendly and attentive to our needs.

The lighting in the room was dim. Coming in from the sunny outdoors, we would have preferred some additional lighting.

excellent location - in walking distance to restaurants and markets but at the same time lovely and quiet, beautiful view from the restaurant and pool area, friendly and helpful staff, environmental sustainability part of their ethos, lovely spacious and well presented rooms, great buffet breakfast, well priced and cooked food in the restaurant.

Nice hotel :)The room had a real tropical holiday vibe, the room was clean. There were fruit and cookies in the room as a welcome gift. It was fun to get a bicycle for free to explore the area!But what really made our stay outstanding are the super friendly people who work at this hotel!Everybody was so nice to us and they were very professional about their service.I would stay here again if I return to Khao Lak.

The mattress of the bed was a bit hard, this is the only negative.

Nothing to criticise about the property at all. We probably wouldn’t stay in that area for longer than a few nights as it’s really just for tourists but the hotel was a great start to our holiday.

Great sense of hospitality from the reception, super clean room, large and comfortable bed, lots of water in the shower. The breakfast was nice too. Beautiful swimming pool. It's located at a walking distance from the town center. The reception organized the minivan for me to go to my next destination. The hotel feels exclusive, but still very friendly.

Nothing to complain about, I rarely give 10 on booking.com. This is the kind place I'd go again without hesitation.

We were very disappointed with this stay

The hotel is not recommended, the price is very expensive for what we actually received. The room is not equipped properly, there is no place to charge the phone. The shower is not clean and looks like a shower of a hostel with a curtain and not of a 4 star resort.

The pool is lovely as are the very friendly staff.

The place is looking a little tired and could do with a spruce up. Comfortable seating in the room would be a plus as well.

Lovely, the employees are so friendly and correct. I have seen 7 other hotels in Thailand. Also so called 5-star hotels. None of them can compete with that (with one exception). Everything works perfectly, no damages. Neither inside the room, nor outside. Everything is cared very well. The breakfast was reduced because of low number of guests, but still very good. I missed nothing. Let me point out the room maids, never I had a room cleaned with this love for every detail. The bed was decorated and in the afternoon they removed that again. English speaking, and so adorable. People can make your holidays pleasant or not. Here they make your holidays nicer.

There is only one thing, a hint to the owners of the hotel. If you name your hotel "Beach Hotel" it should have a beach. If it has no beach, you should make that visible. The "beach" consists of rocks and waves spraying onto the property. I checked on several times day and night, always the same, independent of the tide. This was the main reason to leave the hotel after 2 nights, There are other reasons concerning the destination Khao Lak. The coffee is a point in all hotels, which could be improved. May 2022.

Nothing at all!!

small boutique hotel with nice touches like evening turn down service, mosquito coils at night, fresh pool towels on sun beds every morning. staff were well trained on the tourist sandbox rules. delicious Thai food for breakfast. rooms were large and beautifully decorated. pool was amazing, best views in Khao Lak.

The room is really lovely - especially liked the outdoor tub and shower. Even though we only used them once (no hot water in the outdoor shower), we could open the double doors to the outside when using the inside shower. Staff were fantastic - made our 20th anniversary very special. Breakfast is plentiful and good. The local is wonderful - we slept with the doors open and listened to the sound of the waves. The pool is well-kept and has a beautiful view of the ocean.

It's always difficult to make everyone happy - singles, couples and families. This is a really minor thing, but we had a very noisy family next to us on the last night, and given how many empty rooms there were, I think they could have placed people with kids in adjoining rooms down at the end of the ocean-front bungalows.

Very good service and warm hospitality from checking to checkout. I left my valuables in a small in the room safe and it was promptly shipped to my destination hotel quickly. Khun Kate was most helpful. The staff in the dining room was so friendly and efficient.

None... only that it felt lonely because of few customers due to covid.
