proximity to local town was good, easy access and clean beach. neat and sizeable room

maybe more night tours, as the limited numbers and specific schedule doesnt cater for the amount of guests

The Merlin resort is an affordable option in Khao Lak. It is well located in the village so you have easy walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The breakfast was varied and fresh with lots of options. The staff were helpful and spoke good English.

While the hotel served our purpose, it is an enormous compound. We were given a room on a top floor in a corner of the resort next to the garbage and water facility tank so it smelled all the time. We also found that because the resort is so big, it is impersonal and overbuilt on the land it claims to protect.

The Hotel is pleasing on the eye and in a fair location. Wifi was good.

Facilities were very poor. One bar was being upgraded which was not advised before the holiday. Food was fairly poor and over priced. The one bar that was open was awful. Staff were not that helpful.

Beautiful plants and nature. Gorgeous pools.

The main restaurant was closed which was not communicated to us before or upon arrival. The other restaurant had no atmosphere or sea view and was boring. There was no compensation or apology for this.

Location by the beach, very spacious room with balcony.

Beautiful place, we only stayed 2 nights but wished it had been longer, beautiful beach, plenty sunbeds, breakfast was the best we have had on our Thai travels

Amazing place with lush flora. Exceptional staff everywhere. Particularly on the reception desk. But everyone was extremely helpful and polite. The spa was great with wonderful staff.

Beautiful resort. The grounds make you feel like you’re in the jungle. Wildlife everywhere. It was beautiful. We had a pool access room and it was perfect to just go out our back door into the pool. Breakfast and dining was delicious. The main restaurant view was lovely and relaxing. The only criticism I could give was the pillows were lumpy and there was a musty smell in the room when you walked in but went after being in the room a short time.

The landscaping is wonderful. The feeling is right inside a hongle. There are beautiful pools all over the hotel and the sea is accessible. The food was wonderful and the staff was pleasant.

Nice big comfortable room with good lighting. Breakfast had a huge range of options but a little disappointed at the basic fruit selection with no mango or passionfruit. Lots of different pools and plenty of well spaced lounge chairs. We had been here a long time ago- maybe 10 years or so and we like the location on the beach and the friendly small village with well priced restaurants- eg. Mali, My Thai and Sorrento and the 2 locals just along the beach for light lunch.

We were in the back block on the 2nd floor with a nice balcony facing a smaller pool, but and lots and lots of steps and ramps to reach the breakfast restaurant and probably 6-7 minute walk from our room to the beach. They really need to have an elevator.Didnt like the shower setup having 2 steps down to the bath.

you had to 'reserve' your beach chair with towels early because everyone did it - so if you failed to play along you didnt get a seat in the shade

Not having access to water on top of drink allowance at dinner. Pool cleanliness. Beach/pool towel rule was an inconvenience.

Fantastic resort. This was our second time (the hotel provide big lockers to store cases which we used when we went to Khao Sok national park for 1 night). Great for bird watchers. Good location, service, gardens, beach etc. There are bars, restaurants, shops and laundry services on the hotel doorstep. Also tailors.

The beds - not the comfort - the wooden corners. We both have bruises. We eventually stuck cushions on the corners! The plug sockets were not accessible as they were behind the bed. It is designed for 2 singles which when pushed together mean you cannot access the sockets. These are small things and overall we loved the resort.

Beautiful hotel in jungle in front of a stunning beach. Comfortable bed, good air conditioning and shower. Lovely balcony overlooking a quiet swimming pool. Quiet room. Good location only a few minutes walk from bars, restaurants, laundry, massages and tailors. There's also great bars/ restaurants 2 minutes walk along the beach. If you like nature/ birds it's a great location.

The drinks were not cheap but you have an empty fridge & supermarkets on your doorstep. The plugs were behind the beds. If they were made as singles it would be OK but as a large double they were behind the mattress.

I don’t have a bad thing to say about this resort - everything was absolutely perfect, from the friendly staff to the delicious breakfast, gorgeous grounds, comfortable beds, stunning location, the pools, the wildlife… everything was incredible!

Room big and nice veranda. Nice pool. Quit but near some shops/restaurants.

Matras too soft and many moscuitos. Food and drinks prices are not nett, they charge 10% service fee and 7%VAT.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at in my life! Loved that it was situated on the beach with the rainforest setting. Room was just beautiful. Pool was stunning. Loved how eco friendly it was.
