Light Khao Lak Resort

The hotel was in a great location, 3 minutes walk from the beach, 8 minutes walk from restaurants and bars. It was away from any noise, so it was peaceful. The hotel and the grounds were extremely clean. The ladies on reception, Prim and Cream, we're friendly and helpful at all times. The reception was always manned, which was helpful. The bedroom was extremely comfortable, with all the facilities you would need, including a working safe and, funny but true, umbrellas in the room, just in case you get caught out. Free light breakfast and coffee is a nice touch !!The hotel can book your tours, rent mopeds and bikes at the same price as anywhere else.

The internet didn't work for 3 days, and I didn't have a local SIM. I'm sure it will be working now, as they were trying to fix it.It could do with a few spare sunbeds around the pool.It would help if there were a cloth and a cleaning spray bottle around the breakfast self-serve area, so you can clean your table after you finish. However, it is a GREAT PLACE to stay !! The above comments wouldn't put me off staying again and again and again !!

Very good value for money, good service ,quite small hotel, good for long stays. Fresh coffee in the morning free of charge

The family room is designed badly makes you feel you are in a youth hostel.Showers are tiny and very low water pressure. Pipes in the toilet also weak ,water didn't flush and the toilet got clogged repeatedly. On our final night there many tiny insects got into the room at night and it was hard sleeping

We have been a regular guest over the last 7 years. We come back because of the quality of the resort, its very simple, no restaurant or bar, but it doesn't need it. The rooms are excellent the pool lovely. The rooms are cleaned and changed everyday and for the cost verses the quality of the resort and staff it is difficult to beat

Very lovely, quiet resort. Got everything we needed to relax and get over the jetlag. 10 minutes walk from a large selection of restaurants (we particularly enjoyed The Khaolak Curry Thai restaurant) and 20 minutes from the main street and shopping. If it's too hot or too rainy, the hotel will organise a taxi easily (c. 200 baht). Really lovely staff who are only too happy to help. Very clean room too and a nice pool to cool down in

Brilliant place, the staff are very nice and it’s very clean, the room cleaning was always exceptional too ! We used taxi service as well as laundry service here and both were very competitively priced (the laundry also smelt incredible!) Great pool and never struggled for a lounger, wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and will likely return

It is a little out of the way so without transport you do have a bit of a walk to the main part but it didn’t bother us, only mentioning it for people that would rather be in the thick of things.

Everything was very clean. The staff is very helpful. The property has their own scooters to rent, which was very convenient.

Absolutely everything was perfect. Really friendly staff, everything was spotless and also nice and quiet. Would love to come back again.

Booking.com mention that it has two restaurants. It doesn't. It is a short walk to any restaurants.

The room we stayed in was gorgeous, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very modern and pretty. The balcony space was lovely and as a couple who are travelling on a budget, it was a really lovely space to sit and relax on an evening with takeout!The pool was amazing with plenty of beds around it. The pool was deep enough for us to swim in and the hotel even had swimming goggles for us to borrow! They had free coffee and bread in the morning! You’re right next to Bang Niang Market (a must visit), the beach and a big string of restaurants. However you’re not too near that it’s loud in the evening, literally is the perfect location!We had a slight problem with our room when we first got there, but the staff fixed it and were super helpful! The two young receptionists were so friendly and very lovely!

The pictures don’t make it clear that you don’t get the rooms around the pool, so I was a little disappointed that the room was facing the road and wasn’t by the pool. That might just be me not understanding the description though! And the room was still lovely!We did have ants when we first got there, however the staff did sort it for us and were helpful, so don’t let it stop you from booking!There isn’t a door handle hanger to request the room to not be cleaned which would sometimes lead to us being disturbed by the cleaning staff. It is definitely something they should consider adding.

The hotel was small rather than the big built up resorts, it had a very relaxing feel to it. The pool was really nice, and there was always enough sunbeds etc. it's a short walk to the beach and the main street and night market. The room was spacious and very clean and the staff were really friendly and attentive.

Not much going on around the area. Khao Lak is full of elderly European tourists and the restaurants are really crap quality food- very hard to find anything that is authentic Thai!! The hotel was a nice escape but you feel a bit stuck as there's not much to do other than lounge around the swimming pool. The breakfast at the hotel is literally coffee + bread (with some butter and Jam) so don't expect a lot. They do advertise this as coffee + bread to manage expectations. Overall, the hotel is a great option as it's small and boutique-like, and great if you're happy to just chill by the pool all day. The toilet is also quite weak and you cannot flush toilet paper down, you have to put it in the bin, it's abit unhygienic.

Very clean, great location, staff were amazing. Free small breakfast with tea and coffee. Rental scooters all very good and new. Clean pool. Everything close by yet it was peaceful. We stayed for 3 weeks.

Could have done with a few more (2-4) sunbeds. Pool too small for potential demand, particularly if families are there

- poor Internet- very busy during our stay, couldnt rent a scooter in the resort because of that- a lot of families with children occupied the swimming pool

Room acceptable

Breakfast was in the open air, with Flys and sparrows joining in. We de lined and went to a local restaurant. Pool was heavily chlorinated which was bad o. The eyes.

Clean and comfortable room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy to rent a scooter directly at a reasonable price. Very peaceful and quiet location at night but still within easy walking distance to all of the bars and restaurants near the market.

Quite place, nice room with comfortable bed. Few steps away from the beach, the the street with restaurants and shops as well as the night market are also at a walking distance.
