    Pros +

    • Proximity to the beach and beach chairs.
    • The staff is fantastic, the location is unique, and the spotless bathroom is a plus, especially considering its rustic island setting. The beach is beautiful and perfect for snorkeling. If you're looking for a place to disconnect from everything, relax, and have a great time, this is the place—no frills, just what’s necessary. If you see yourself as a traveler rather than a tourist, this is the right spot for you.
    • This property is right on the ocean. Our room was steps from the nice sandy beach.

    Cons -

    • The cabins are in need of renovations. The wooden floors feel like they are going to fall apart. Some type of sound proofing would be recommended.
    • This is a very old resort and our room could use some maintenance and upgrading. A new floor and floor to ceiling window and glass door would make all the difference to this room and resort.
    • I stayed for a week, and while the staff were so nice and helpful, I feel like the furniture — especially the interior — could use an upgrade. The floor creaks really loudly, especially at night when the neighbor next door moves around. I could even feel the tremors. It’s easy to ask the staff for a fresh bedsheet or blanket, but everything feels quite old. I’m pretty sure there are bed bugs in the mattress, not mosquitoes, since I had mosquito repellent on day and night and didn’t see any around. Still, I got itchy all over every time I went to bed.

The location is perfect — I love the view! There’s a beach right in front of my room, and it’s absolutely beautiful. ? It’s close enough to walk to Long Beach with a bit of a hike, but far enough to stay away from the crowds. The staff were also really nice and helpful throughout my stay.

Friendly staff, great location, delicious food!

Our room has lots of bugs in them. Multiple cockroaches in the bathroom, bugs in bed, and room full of mosquitoes at night despite keeping the door/window closed all day. Room would definitely benefit from having bug nets or bug spray available.

Stunning location, basically a private beach! Very small area but can’t complain if you want a few days of peace. Wonderful staff very helpful and attentive with every issue I had.

There was a MOUSE in my room, terrorizing us throughout our first night. I believe it was living in the bed and came out at night for food (room 14) did get moved rooms in the morning but was just horrendously inconvenient. Also a major ant problem, they must put stuff down to kill them but this result in tiny ant body’s everywhere.

The hygiene left much to be desired—our room wasn’t cleaned once during our 7-day stay. There was no hot water. The huts themselves appear very poorly maintained and unsafe; one of the staircases even broke at a higher level, which felt dangerous.Breakfast was hit or miss: the Nasi Lemak option was decent, but the scrambled eggs were bland and unappetizing.Overall, the experience might be acceptable if the price were a third of what we paid. At the current rates, it’s simply not worth the money.

Incredible location!! This hotel is made up of lots of cute huts right on the beach - couldn’t be more idyllic. The staff were great and it was nice to have sunbed access and fresh towels everyday

The food was ok, would have loved to have our room cleaned at one point during the stay (or just bin emptied) but not a biggie

The location is great, next to the sea. The view from the room was spectacular. Also the restaurants are very close. The beach was clean and had beautiful sand.

The property head mixed reviews as in ones at fives. Just made it hard to decide before going there. Reviews I read with ones mentioned ant problems. It is a jungle, after all. I never quite got rid of him but they didn't improve him a bunch. The location was fantastic, the people were very nice, the beach was great. For us, yeah probably knocked it down by one. We also live by the water and from time to time have those problems. Some cottages have their views blocked by parts of other units. Ours had a decent view. There is no nightlife on this beach and if you want mixed drinks, bring a bottle of your favorite from the mainland. The staff was super nice.

My chalet was quite spacious. There was a fan and air con. Clean towels and bedsheets were provided. The staff cleans the beach in front of the resort which is nice if you want to sunbathe.

The resort is absolutely overpriced. My chalet had an intense smell of paint which wasn't pleasant. The room wasn't clean when I checked in. The breakfast is poor. No hot water in the shower. Extremely poor WiFi.

It's a great location and right on a beautiful beach with pristine water

It's a shame there is no intent to improve the food and restaurant experience, staff seemed uninspired and the food quality was poor, but the restaurant is a good size and has beautiful open views to the sea and beach and has so much potential

Decent sized room, nice and quiet location, friendly staff at reception and in the restaurant.

Private terrace with a beautiful view on the sea.Private beach just in front of our accommodation. Quiet place in the nature as it is at the end of the beach. Senja Bay Resort has its own restaurant. They have nice food. It's really easy when you don't want to walk along the beach or to Long Beach (only 15 minutes away). The room is big enough and air conditioning was working. Monkeys, monitors and squirrels are walking around.Scuba diving centers close by.Staff is nice.

Not luxurious but we knew it... and we didn't need luxury. Nature around was the luxury !

Service & QualityRight next to the beach, kids were really enjoyed.Easy accessible, having luggage assistance from/to Jetty Point. No need to drag it until room.

Excellent location right on the beach front with beautiful views from the cafe. Rooms were basic, but all that you need on this beautiful island. Breakfast was a mixture of cuisines, with something for everyone (I had the wonderful roti and curry sauce everyday!). Staff behind the reception desk were very helpful and friendly.

Great location, free yoga mats to put on sunbeds.Breakfast was also pretty good! Friendly staff. We had no bedbugs or insects in our room(18)We were a bit hesitant as we didn’t read the bad reviews but really loved our stay. It’s just budget resort, but it’s also very cheap.

Rooms were indeed old, but cleanShower was meh, but in the sea most of the time anywaysFood during the day is not that good, we recommend rosemary cafe

Beach front chalet. Fantastic location. Great room. Good breakfast. Water available. Food was good.

Wasn’t aware of luggage support from jetty so had to drag cases across the sand. The shower mat was dirty and old. No full length mirrors. Some difficult with ferry arranged on return but was sorted by hotel. It was evident that it was end of season and staff may have been less attentive but we aren’t really needy travellers so tried to ignore this,

An older property, possibly one of the originals on Coral Bay Beach. It is built up a steep hill-side into the jungle following the contours of the land. There are many varities of room available. I chose as a solo traveller the most basic non A/C room on the third level, which is accessed up multiple flights of stairs which were very dodgy and somewhat frightening as many were rotten wood. The room was very basic but rustic and gave a beachy vibe in a way. The bathroom was clean and newly renovated. The included breakfast each morning was superb and as an all you can eat buffet would set you up for the day. The staff were universally fantastic, incredibly friendly and welcoming.

I was in a third level non airconditioned room, this is reached by climbing many sets of stairs and walking along a lot of wooden boardwalks. I simply didn't feel safe on many of these staircases as the wooden stairs were clearly rotten in some locations or otherwise missing altogether. You are several meters above ground level, so if a stair or boardwalk should give way due to the wood rot, you would fall to serious injury. Maintenance is urgently required on the wooden infrastructure that binds the rooms of this property together. The room was very simple for the cost, but had a beach vibe which matched the location. There were 5 possible opportunites for lights in the room but only 2 had bulbs, the lighting was completely ineffective. The whole property for the price paid gave a feeling of neglect as if nothing was being taken care of and it was being left to rot away. The staff and food provided made up for the lack of maintenance, but it is a shame no care is being taken.

The location is great, although there is more going on at Long Beach and other parts of the island are nicer.

The staff are unfriendly, not very helpful and just seemed uninterested in being there. The rooms are damaged by humidity and mould. The power cuts out frequently. The included breakfast is awful, contains no fruit and is rarely changed from the standard options. There are cracks in the floorboards, windows don’t shut properly and there are gaps under the doors so if you are afraid of creepy crawlys - this place isn’t for you. Stay somewhere else, there far nicer options on the island.
