Amazing location, most beautiful beach (in my opinion the best on island), you can rent a cayak for free and visit small island which is really perfect spot for snorkelig. Spacious room and terrace with gorgeous view. Breakfast was also perfect.

    10LisaPosted on: 3-11-2025

Absolutely stunning views, great room facilities and the breakfast in the room was stunning! Staff all friendly and very hardworking.

    Nothing!

The view from our room and the general location at the tip of the island surrounded by gorgeous gardens and panoramic views of the sea. The rustic Thai style architecture of the bungalows was lovely . The little infinity pool was well worth the extra cost , couldn’t imagine being without it , because it’s a fair way to the sea.

The stairs are many and steep and a bit rickety in places , but I still booked this place knowing that because I felt the other aspects of the resort were worth it

    - The best beach on Koh Lipe - small, but very romantic. - The beach has no boats, which is almost unique on the island.- Some snorkeling right from the hotel- Hotel provides free kayaks - Ideal view from a room- Perfect room terrace- Very green territory - Nice friendly staff, really helped us with canceling an additional tour- Overall everything outside the room is perfect (except probably a lot of stairs, but for us it is fine)

Despite of disadvantages below, we really enjoyed our stay because of the ideal romantic exterior, but still:- The room inside requires refreshing - Didn't like breakfast-in-the-room experience, I don't like to eat about 7 small portions of different dishes, I'd like to have big portion of 2-3 thing that I find tasty- The bathroom is not completely isolated from the bedroom (wall is not up to the ceiling) so you can hear everything - Сracks in the wooden floor which leads to periodical smell in the bathroom.- Ideally bad usability of switches and sockets - the light under the kitchen zone is behind the door inside the bathroom, very small bedside shelf on the left is occupied by hotel phone and you have to take the phone out to turn on/off the light, no socket near the sofa, etc. (who designed that?)- The staff is bothering you all day: "hello - can we clean up?", "hello - please fill breakfast form", "please give us filled breakfast form", "hello - mosquito coil". And if you fell asleep unplanned, they will try again and again, then call by phone again and again, until you they finally wake you up. I don't think that is the staff problem, but more likely hotel rules problem.- The price is a bit high for such room quality - The restoration prices are too high, we had tastier and cheaper food outside.

The property is fantastic with amazing views. It could use some updating at least in the room we were in. But overall, a very beautiful island experience. The staff were all beyond amazing! Very friendly, helpful and just a joy to talk to.

Our room overall was good. The shower pan was settling and didn’t drain well and shower heads were quite rusty and corroded. The steps are a little shaky in areas so I’d not recommend to older guests.

    Location and terrace

Shower basically didn’t work, overall tired and exceptionally expensive for the quality

    9CélinePosted on: 2-25-2025

I loved the view from the pool and the breakfast was amazing! you have a floatie in your room so you can always do a floating breakfast. the staff was very friendly and the location was great.

sometimes ants in the toilet and some other insects in the room but you are on a small island what did you expect ;)

    9ClarePosted on: 2-22-2025

The setting is stunning. We had a pool villla ( a lot of steps down to restaurant and beach). The view is amazing. The restaurant is also excellent. As the villas are amongst nature be prepared for mosquitos.

The steps but that can't be helped.

Locations is great, perfect service, breakfast is great, beach is perfect for snorkeling, the restaurant On the Rocks has GREAT food!

    9NathalyPosted on: 1-23-2025

The room had everything one needed. The view is spectacular. The breakfast is good, divers and is served in your room. The beach is amazing. The hotels lets you use their kayaks and snorkel gear for free. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Only two things: 1) the wooden floors in our room were very slippery. We almost fell a few times. Maybe they had just polished them? 2) we had to walk a lot of stairs to get to our room. But that’s the price you pay for having a beautiful view ; )

    7WilliamPosted on: 1-17-2025

Beautiful view and authentic style. Great breakfast and comfortable bed.

The bungalows are not insulated and are built in traditional wood styles. While this is “cool” there were literally open areas along the wall that allowed heat and mosquitos into our room. The bug bites at night were mitigated by the bed curtain but still became a challenge for us.

The resort is in a beautiful forrest and the views from the rooms are spectacular.

The service. Thailand is world famous for its hospitality. Everywhere you go you are met with smiles and care. Not in this resort. There is just bad energy here and it permeates. The management care more about their hotel and its procedures more than about the guests who stay there. Not once over our 4 night stay were we asked about our wellbeing or if we need anything. The typical Thai smile was replaced with ambivalent look at best and impatient one at worst. When the check out time came on the first night, several members of staff literally camped out of our room 1 hour prior to exert pressure on us to leave early. They did not say anything - they just sat there. Then at 11:30 they all stormed into the room not caring about us still being half-dressed and our private things all lying around. The check out time was 12:00 as per the Booking confirmation but the staff insisted it was 11:30. Only when I showed them the Booking confirmation did they reluctantly agree. On a different occasion I called in to get some water. Ample and free water is standard in Thailand this being a tropical country. Not in this resort. When I informed the staff of the need for more water I got a lecture of how 4 small bottles of water our the standard here. However, I can call the restaurant and they will send me 2 bottles for a charge. I told them this is disappointing but no reaction. This is a 600 euro / night resort. They also made sure to charge me 10 euro for a tea pot I broke - a show was made of it at check out. When I told the receptions out about the experience over our stay she did not even care to look at me - she excused herself because she had the more important job of adding up all my charges: "It's a lot of money, Sir" I heard, still not having deserved her attention. Profit is all they care at this resort - have that in mind when booking a room here.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. My husband and I loved having breakfast on the balcony overlooking the beautiful waters. The hotel staff were very friendly and helped us arrange transport, excellent curated tours to our wishes, and even massages in the room.

We always come back to Serendipity as I think it’s the best in the island. Off the beaten track, it overseas the beautiful clean and sandy beach and blue water. As it’s at the end of the beach, there is no noise or people walking by. You’re in the middle of a jungle and it’s beautiful. The houses are in Thai style, quite cozy and the views amazing. To add, the food at the restaurant and breakfast is very very good, and the staff is friendly and welcoming.

The hotel starts to become a little weathered and needs a lift here and there. The stairs as well as the houses themselves feel old. In one hand it’s cozy and on the other, slightly inconvenient. For example, the AC even on full power doesn’t fully cool down the room as there are cracks everywhere. The shower didn’t have good pressure.

    10JohanPosted on: 12-30-2024

Great location, beautiful views, excellent service by friendly and helpful staff - Meelei and rest of the team at the restaurant/bar were very accommodating

    1ChristinePosted on: 12-26-2024

This place is extremely, extremely overpriced for literally no reason. Aside from all the negative comments below, the things that we liked were that the AC ran really well, they gave us lots of mosquito coils to burn outside. The beach was clean which was surprising because 2 beaches down, there is garbage everywhere. It was calming being able to fall asleep to the critters and wind outside since you’re in a bungalow. The view is nice but you pay for it when you want to go out for dinner and have to walk 10 minutes to get to the main part of the island.

This place is extremely, extremely overpriced for literally no reason. The restaurant on site is terrible aside from the view. We got a sandwich (barely any meat) and calamari (rubbery). They tried to fix the calamari by cooking it more. Breakfast is not that great and if you don’t answer the door fast enough they just keep knocking and ringing the bell. The mosquitoes are absolute monsters over there. If you are outside for even 10 seconds without moving, they are on you. The floors were very slippery, we almost slipped everyday. We had garbage right outside of our room so it smelled in the morning. The water pressure was low but it did stay hot the whole time so giving credit there. You have to walk down some pretty steep steps to get to the beach. We had a millipede come in from the shower drain twice which I can understand being in the woods but that was not pleasant. They didn’t give a skimmer for the pool and there were so many leaves. They also didn’t come to clean the pool the 2nd day we were there. The water was freezing and the sun barely went on our pool/balcony area. The coffee maker was broken.

    5AndreiPosted on: 12-23-2024

    - the view- the beach- the experience

    - room and bathroom were dirty- even though the staff is helpful, you basically have to explain like they are 5 and don't give them 2 tasks at one as they will get blocked. Only one task at a time.Overall, if you are ok with paying 400 EUR a night for a great view, go for it. Otherwise, super overrated. Services worth 100 EUR a night at best.
