Helpful staff, excellent buffet. Location close to mall and the vast Victoria Park.

Size of the room.

Excellent property in Bhavnagar. We had taken a Premium rom. Slightly pricey, but the property is excellent and rooms are fantastic. Breakfast was also awesome, though like many restaurants in Gujarat, this would be pure veg, not even eggs. The Gujarati spread in breakfast was excellent apart from the usual south Indian and punjabi varieties. If you are coming from Ghogha Ro-Ro Ferry terminal, then this is under 30 min drive from terminal.

Nothing per say, though the price was a little on higher side for a city like Bhavnagar even factoring in the excellent property that it was.

Cleanliness

The fact that the minibar in the room did not keep drinks or my medicines cold. I was told it was just to keep everything at room temperature….and to order ice to store my eye drops which required refrigeration. Bizzare right….after all why would there be a minibar fridge in the room? To keep things cold !!!!

I liked the room, it was spacious. The staff were very helpful and housekeeping was quick.

Spread at Restaurant

Reception team was clearly unhappy to see us turn up….saw to it that we get city facing rooms rather than park facing….insisted we paid upfront saying BOOKING.COM customers gave to pay upfront

The restaurant (Victoria 23) is relatively small and hence become congested at times.

I have been to this place very frequently but currently the tariff has increased a lot.

The price on Booking.com was higher as compared to make my trip. Thats why iI booked another room with make my trip and saved almost 700 per room for two more days. Like 1500 for two days. Could have been betterly charged on booking.com.

The Staff in restaurant were a bit slow and understaffed during early dinner. Just require a bit more training.Spa was overpriced. The therapists were below average and did not reflect the price charged.

Our room was clean, comfortable, fully equipped and quiet. The food was excellent. The travel desk was very helpful when we needed a car to travel to Palitana and to the train station. They also provided a take away breakfast up for our 5am departure.

At the time of our 5am departure none of the devices used for contactless pay or credit card pay were working. The problem was clearly local and related to the hotel and its bank, and not the fault of the guests or the credit card company. Since we did not have sufficient rupees on hand to settle the bill, we suggested paying in USD at an exchange rate of 80 rupees per USD. The front desk staff was very courteous and kind, but was not authorized to implement any solution. The next level of management was authorized to make the necessary decisions, but insisted on solutions that we could not implement or would not accept (such as payment in USD at a rate very unfavorable to the guests, when the problem was with the hotel and not the guests). I don't want to be too critical, since the remainder of our stay was very good and the failure of electronic equipment was unexpected) but the hotel should have understood that we had limited time (train to catch) and that they needed to be more practical and flexible.
