Very bad experience. Will never stay in a Fern Hotel

Room: Television Remotes not working - old, dead batteries. Air Conditioner remote not working. Air Conditioner controls not working (had to be set from their back-end.) The restaurant was understaffed, and the food service was terrible. Some of the food served during breakfast was stale and straight out of the refrigerator. Problems with Billing - was denied the discount on food that was offered by Bookings.com. Had to haggle with the staff to get a parking spot.

Central Location. One night overnight stay Ok for Business travel but not for Family Stay. Food was ok. Staff in Restaurant were friendly.

The Ambience. The hotel looks old and rickety. The service quality in the Reception. Check in & Check out was mediocre. No value for money Spent for Stay.

Very clean property. Got upgraded and the room was spacious and very comfortable.Breakfast was also good.

I had a disappointing experience during my recent stay at The Fern. Despite booking a room with a large bed, I was provided with two single beds, which was not what I expected. Additionally, the bathroom was not clean, and the bath fittings were in very poor condition, which added to the discomfort. Overall, this was one of the worst experiences I have had at a hotel, especially from a brand like The Fern, where I expected much higher standards.

This hotel charged us double!! Once on booking and again on arrival and have not replied to my messages since we left. SCAM don't book this hotel

Good location. Courteous and polite staff. Clean and big rooms. Perfect for a quick stay as I was on way from Bangalore to Mumbai and needed a decent place to sleep and rest.

Parking was initially a difficulty inside the hotel premises. If they have a basement, they should probably open it up for overnight guests to park.

Poor

Hot water kettle was not working. They replaced it on complaining. This was the same issue in another room booked by us.Towel was not provided. we had to ask for it. Phone was not working. on complaining it was replaced. On asking suggestion for food on room service, (eg not spicy not fried), was curtly asked to read the menu. they could have suggested some of their specials. Only 2 nos 500 ml water bottles were provided. Called room service for water. they said its chargeable. We said ok charge it to room and get us. no action for 15 mins. Then called again for water, and then they sent it. Asked for a stool in the shower room to help take a bath for sr citizen. No response for 15 mins. Then called again to remind. They said we have asked the department. Then they say they dont have a stool. I asked if they can provide a plastic chair atleast. They said sorry no. We had stayed at 2 other hotels recently and they were quick to oblige.

uncourteous staff, dirty linen, everything had to be asked, no track of payments made onlineOverall no value for money. Fern chain of hotels lack basic hospitality, customer orientation and basic upkeep of amenities.

Location was good. Breakfast spread was nice.

Bathrooms were not in good condition. Fittings were old and needed to be replaced. The drainage was awful and water was overflowing in other areas. Lighting in room need to be improved.

Room not cleaned well. Noise from kitchen kept us awake all night. Bathroom tiles has cement stains. Shower area door was broken and did not shut properly. Toilet was fixed too high. Food items were not kept warm at breakfast. Fried eggs were very very oily.

I liked the hotel and the interior of the room that was allocated to me,it exceeded my expectations and I was very happy to see the rrom. The bathroom was clean, the bedsheets and cots were neat, and they even gave a welcome drink.

The price was a little high, but it is adjustable. They provided a balcony facing the road, which was good for a view, but unfortunately, the balcony was not clean at all. It seemed like no one had used it for 3-4 months. They mentioned having a swimming pool, so we went to see it, but it lacked privacy; anyone from the top could see the person swimming. It seemed they provided this option mainly for taking pictures.When it came to food, we went for lunch late at 5 o'clock because we checked in late. They said they only had snacks available. The behavior of the staff was unprofessional, and they provided complimentary breakfast, but when we went for breakfast, the person there gave the impression of wondering why we came.And also And we asked for chicken for dinner, but they didn't have many options for chicken gravy.

The staff at restaurant were friendly and food was prepared well.

1. The bathroom was in a really poor state and needs fixing. Considering the quality of Fern hotels and its star rating, this was absolutely shocking and unacceptable.2. During the daytime, I noticed cockroaches both in the bathroom and right outside it. This is likely to be a bad situation at night as well.3. The bed sheets seemed relatively okay, but there is room for improvement.4. The credit card machine did not accept internal debit/credit cards. All three of my cards were declined, putting me in a difficult situation. I had to walk to a nearby ATM machine in the hot weather of Huballi to get cash. I understand that the machines are not enabled for internal card transactions, which is another unfortunate aspect of the hotel. Perhaps Booking.COM should consider reducing their rating to reflect this or warn international travelers to bring cash.

Location is easy to access. Staffs are cordial. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

The location is central to Hubli.

Almost no parking place.No valet parkingThe security personnel don't speak any other language other than Kannada. Imagine someone from another part of India visiting. Outside food is not allowedBreakfast service is not up to the mark. Out of 2 days, on 2 occasions we saw occupants shouting at staff for not so professional service at the breakfast.The view from the window is pathetic.

The hotel is not even worth 3 star level hotel. Towels were dirty. Bathroom was a joke with water from shower area pouring over to the commode. Toiletry was not adequate.

Pathetic customer service, no parking, had to [ark outside the hotel compound.

The room and service especially the staff of housekeeping riyana , receptionists Akkamma and bilphul, room service team especially mahantesh cooperated well

Freezer was not working well

Staff was nice and catered for our needs. Food was really good (although a bit spicy for our european taste buds), even made children version with no spices for our daughter.

Old property…not so well maintained inside the rooms especially toilets and worn out windows without latches are annoying
