Villa Angelia Boutique Hotel

I did not like ANYTHING about the hotel.

The staff were unhelpful, unprepared for my check-in and unable to answer questions regarding my reservation. I was taken to a construction site and asked to circumvent the hazardous conditions to access the room they had on offer.

Great location and space.

Terrible breakfast, overpriced food with little variety, and staff were a let down as a few of them did not know what they were doing.

the sheets were very crinkled, there was no bath towel, by 2nd morning I had to go somewhere else to have a shower and when I got back to my roomat 5pm the plumber was still working in my bathroom

The food was good.The available TV channels were adequate.The staff was friendly.

We did not receive the key card to our room until the next day.They almost gave out our room to another guest because we had stepped out for lunch after waiting for 2 hours for our room to be ready.The gym was not available for use which should have been stated on their booking.com profile.

The environment

They lied about the breakfast. There was absolutely none during my stay there. Also the shower wasn't working which was absurd.There was no towel also had to request twice before they brought it.

Will not come again.

The toilet was just disgusting. the window blinds were so dirty. I didn’t shower even once in the bathroom. The carpet was disgusting too.

Was disgusted with Payment. POS did not work. And they said I could not transfer as the person to confirm was not available. Had to go look for a bank to withdraw cash. Not good.

The location is good, the facilities are okay, but the staff were so embarrassing and not straight forward.

I booked for 3 rooms for 1night from 29/9/2022 to 30/9/2022 on Booking.com App for myself, my Boss and another colleague, our reservations were confirmed online by Booking.com. But when we arrived at the hotel, the security man at the gate refused to open the gate for our car to drive in. He asked us to park outside and trekked in with our luggage saying that the Gate is faulty.At the reception desk, the Receptionist said there was no booking in my name from her system and that the hotel is fully occupied. When I showed her my booking reference number and pin, she said the type of rooms I booked for were all occupied. She told us, that the rooms available are above the rates of our bookings, except if we can pay extra N20,000 (additional) for each of the rooms. We told her that the extra N60,000 she requested for isn't within our budget. But after she spoke to her Boss on phone, she said we can leave because there is nothing they can do to help us.We sought to see the Hotel Manager but the Receptionist said the Manager was not available, we also sought to talk with him on phone but she declined to connect us with the Manager.I then decided to call Booking.com to lodge a complaint but, when I started calling Booking.com's number, the Receptionist quickly came forward and informed us to be patient that they will soon resolve the issue.After we waited in the reception lobby for over an hour unattended to, another Hotel's staff came to apologize, and said they have resolved to give us higher rooms at no extra cost.Our reservation was for 1 night with complimentary breakfast inclusive, but the following morning, when want to take breakfast, we were informed by the Restaurant staff that we are not entitled for a Breakfast.I then went to the Receptionist, this time around the Receptionist was a man, I enquired to know what happened so that I will report this embarrassing situation to Booking.com.

A few staff are very good especially Debbie and Abdulrashid. The rest of the staff were very unfriendly, money minded and not customer centric.

The rest of the staff were very rigid, unfriendly, money-minded (if you do not tip then no service), and not customer-centric. Their Assistant GM is a slave driver, a poor manager and bad at both staff and customer relationship management- a woman from hell.

At arriving here even after giving the hotel a call 4hrs prior to my arrival informing them I would arrive before 3.30pm but got there and was told I had to wait as the room wasn't ready. Waited another 25mins which pissed me off as I got there early to take 1hr nap before the event I had. I also was in a room that had no single charging point except if I unplugged the TV. The fridge wasn't working , no single extensions or wall sockets to at least charge my phones . Even after complaining to front desk and was told a maintaince guy would come sort it, I never saw one till I checked out. I also hated that the room I booked was outside the main hotel building.

Duvet and towel where messed up. If they can't maintain white colour let them change to white.And how on earth can you be giving your guests

Towels, linens and electronics though functional, look old and a little worn. I wouldn't say you get what you paid for.

The reception staff are courteous, friendly and very helpful.  The hotel is in a quiet location yet conveniently close to many amenities.

Some of the restaurant staff are downright unpleasant and disobliging, particularly the one in charge this Easter Sunday.  When I asked him for  the use of a plate for some Easter snacks I had been given (I have been in hotel Angelia since 8 April and am now staying on as a long-term guest), he informed me that I had to pay for use of the plate.  The inclusive breakfast at the restaurant is extremely limited, consisting of either potatoes and eggs with tea or coffee or bread and eggs with tea or coffee.  They ignored my plea for a little more variety of local foods. After having my fill of this monotonous fare for 6 consecutive days, I now avoid the hotel breakfast. TV image ranges from blurry to non-existant with sometimes only the sound coming through.

The television didn't have a HDMI port. I couldn't connect my laptop to watch my movies

Location was excellent, the apartment (masionette) is superb. TV stations were good, the staff were very courteous and responsive. Alternative parking spaces were available as required.

A number of times, fresh towels were not proactively provided after housekeeping until we requested.
