    • This is Uber Luxary with some rooms having private beach accessStaff were great especially in the restaurants and beach/pool bars
    • The staff were all fabulous. They were very kind and friendly from the moment we arrived. We really loved chatting to them all. We liked the jungle around our room (as we saw beautiful butterflies and heard the birds) but also appreciated the quick access to the beach. Sadly storms were present whilst we were there but it was still a fabulous experience. Thanks to Ishara for making sure we were happy, Danu for showing me the crocodile and all the guys and girls in the restaurant and bar, and at reception.
    • The staff are wonderful the manager Deleepe went out of his way to make our stay perfect. The staff all delightful and efficient Methila and all the staff at the restaurant. The food extremely good with ample choice and change in the menu every day. The location perfect on the sea and in the forest

    Cons -

    • There were a couple of things that were not great -especially for a resort that you are paying a premium price for1. Check in process was protracted and clumsyWe were told that you can pay cash in USD … but when given we’re told a couple of 100 dollar notes were unacceptable -ie not going to be accepted in SL bank although the notes were changed in Australian bank! Then when we tried paying in USD via credit card. Their credit card machine didn’t accept this. So finally we paid in LKR2. Stayed for 2 nights and wanted to use the gym but this was not available -undergoing renovations3. Property doesn’t have driver accomodation
    • The ac in the room was quite noisy at night and it would have been nice to be able to direct it away from the bed.
    • Maybe the beds at the pool.

Beautiful design of the hotel, very comfortable rooms, but most of all friendly staff, especially Manoj, Tharshika and Mithila.

A beach bar looked very deserted and didn’t have much to offer.

    8PhilipPosted on: 1-26-2025

Very good villas with excellent staff and very good food.

People smoking in the bar area even though it was open sided and well ventilated.

Unic location, forest, nature. Maximum kind and pleasant staff.

Definitely it is not 5 stars hotel, rooms, restaurant, reception, buildings materials, furniture very simple. Photos in booking of this hotel made very well, however in reality “a little bit” another picture. The gym was 10x10 meter (awful and funny). I think it is 3.8 from 5.

The hotel was in a good location with a private beach. The decor was nice, rooms were very spacious and modern. We always had services available to us. The choice of breakfast was excellent and the variety on offer was very diverse. The staff were excellent in attending to any queries. The lifeguard on the beach was also very friendly and provided good recommendations. We enjoyed it so much that we might try one of their other locations on our next visit.

Location and ambience is extraordinary.Welcoming, friendly staff.

Walking paths lacked adequate lighting given the possibility of presence of venomous snakes.

Perfect getaway for couples. Excellent and friendly staff and good food.

Avoid December due to rainy season. Need more amenities for kids

Liked everything about Jungle Beach. Beautiful location. Beautiful villas with both great outdoor and indoor showers. The staff were exceptionally professional abd at the same time helpful and friendly.

Only negative being the lack of fishing trips from the hotel even though they are advertised online. We were told the hotel had stopped them due to lack of interest.

    10RajivPosted on: 11-4-2024

Ishhara at front desk very helpful. Service was excellent. Food out of this world. Very good alround service

    Everything even beach was excellent

    4MoragPosted on: 10-21-2024

Staff tried their best to make the stay better and to help.

Chalets were not on the beach with a sea view. The standard of the rooms were not up to expectation or standard.. Swimming pool next to restaurant and little sunshine.

It IS a JUNGLE resort! It is intelligently well built around the trees and mangroves, even the swimming pool matches and gives jungle vibe.A jungle vibe cannot be complete without animals around: squirrels at the pool, small turtles, crabs, but the best: from the lagoon view suite: view on the crocodiles and so many different kinds of birds. Pristine beach but it wasn’t as sandy white as in the pictures, that really depends on the season.Great staff! From the moment you reach the hotel, at the bar, at the restaurants, at the spa, the staff is friendly and ready to help.Excellent food! Breakfast is not buffet but à la carte, it fits an eco friendly approach. Quite some variety. Same for dinner. A must for seafood lovers.Special thanks to Mitila and the executive Chef Chandika, for preparing some local vegetarian not-on-the-card dishes for us. Very much appreciated.

Really nothing to not like! Just do not forget your flash light at night, there will be insects and animals around. There was a snake at the beach, so take your beach shoes! Can’t blame the hotel for it, it’s nature!

    I'm satisfied with breakfast

What I'm not satisfied with is the service, my phone charger was left in that room and they didn't return it to me

Key bits first....large rooms, comfy beds, good showers, good pool and beach area. Lots of breakfast choices. The outstanding element of this hotel is it's relationship with nature. Every day was like taking a mini jungle safari. In 3 days we saw more creatures than the whole of our trip. The giant squirrels at the pool bar were my favourite. Some of the staff were exceptional. Special mention to the charismatic head chef who made us a meal off menu as we don't eat fish and 90% of the evening menu is seafood. Worth a stay for the creatures alone.

This isn't a 5* although it's priced that way and has the potential to be one with its location and set up in the jungle. Rooms are nice but do feel a bit dated in places (lots of chipped paintwork etc), our door lock only worked with an unknown secret method making access a daily frustration. Drinks and food were expensive and generally the food wasn't worth the cost compared to the cheap excellent eats available around the rest of the country....also wierd portion sizes some large, some pretentiously small. Huge focus on sea food. The main restaurant service was odd...everyone had a specific role and wouldn't deviate so if you wanted something you had to wait for the person you asked to relay it to the person who did the function...meant slow service. They closed the bars for World Temperance day (national instruction with penalities for non compliance) which isnt a problem at all, but didnt tell anyone why just...no bar today. People would have understood if they had put a sign up. Sad about the amount of trash on the beach, although that's not the hotels fault, they clear it daily and they encourage guests to help with collecting it during beach walks. Note that their transfer costs were 3x (!!) the cost of those via this website.

The hotel was beautiful with well appointed chalets, which were spacious and thoughtfully decorated. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach which has a cafe for hotel guests. Trincomalee town is a short distance away. Although the cuisine is predominantly aimed at Western tourists Prabodha and Nipun made sure our requests for local cuisine were catered for.

    9StevePosted on: 9-24-2024

We stayed in a beach chalet and had our private path of 20 metres through the bush onto the beach. The setting was stunning. Likewise the room was spacious and very well appointed. There was a shower in the bathroom and a second outdoor one, and we enjoyed our private verandah. The beach chalets are somewhat more expensive than the lagoon and jungle chalets but for us our room was definitely worth the difference. The main building is cleverly woven into nature and fits snugly round the pool. The beach stretches a long way to the north and is effectively exclusive to the hotel.

A lot of the sand on the beach is black which is apparently due to Ilmenite. It does detract a little from the aesthetics. If you want to eat out, you must expect a 20 minute drive to Nilaveli. Best to eat in. The restaurant, including breakfast, is excellent.
