    • This hotel is one of the most unique places we have ever stayed! It is a building of such history and full of antiques and unique pieces. The staff are friendly are devoted to the history of Melaka. The breakfast was the most unique dining experiences we've ever had - be prepared to have your mind blown by the flavors and variety. The hostess was so enthusiastic about sharing her culture with us. The location is right in the heart of the historic city, walking distance from all the sites.

    Cons -

    • Bed noise, stairs
    • Nothing - we loved the experience that is this hotel.
    • As the hotel was in Jonker Street, it can be noisy at night as loud music played along the roads. The hotel does provide ear plugs if necessary.

The hotel was conveniently located, we could explore the Jonker Street area easily. The hotel space was beautifully decorated and the room was clean.

Very charming hotel with a lot of taste, very attentive staff, great location, etc.

Environment can be quite noisy, need to take a room facing if you are noise sensitive

We loved the very unique building, the many antiques throughout the residence, and the location. Also, the staff was ready to meet us when we arrived and ensured a parking spot was available.

Excellent location in the centre of Malacca. Parking was provided and was convenient to the location. Quirky and interesting place to stay. Breakfast was very good and the hosts were attentive and helpful.

Slightly noisy due to other guests but proximity of rooms was the issue.

The location is fantastic, the room was comfortable and the decor is like being in a traditional old home. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was generous.

Being on a major junction may be a bit noisy at night but that’s part of the charm of being in middle of all the action.

    10TinaPosted on: 4-19-2025

The whole atmosphere of the hotel was amazing. There was so much to look at and take in, a truly unique place. The breakfasts were lovely, so nice to try all the traditional foods. Camilla and her staff were very attentive.

Nothing, it was a lovely experience would have liked to stay longer.

This boutique hotel is perfectly located, right in the centre of Malacca. As others have said, it’s like staying overnight in a museum. The attention to detail is incredible. Breakfast was like an introduction to the very best Malaysian breakfast food available, super interesting and tasty. Loved staying here and would definitely return!

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The place is beautiful. Breakfast has many delicious items to sample.

Like staying in a Museum. Lots of history and great feel about the place. Breakfast was fantastic showcasing local delights. Really great experience. Friendly and helpful staff.

Location fantastic, extremely helpful staff, went above and beyond, real Malaysian hospitality. Great old building, with fantastic antique items, a lot of character from both building and staff.

Windows were blacked out, therefore no view. Couldn’t open windows making it feel claustrophobic. 2 chairs would be nice to sit on, rather than sitting on the bed. The trunk and 2 pottery stools were used for the suit cases, as no where to put cases.

If you'd like to stay inside of a piece of history - with antiques around you and a vibe that brings you back over a few hundred years...well then this is place for you. The photos don't do justice - the place is quite a bit nicer in reality. This is a small boutique hotel so service is personable and it feels almost like you're staying at someone's house. The breakfast is super - it gives you a very good introduction to nyonya/baba (Peranakan) breakfasts...and honestly I'd find it hard to find similar on the streets of Malacca (probably cause I don't know where). The staff are very helpful and friendly. The location is fantastic if you want to be in the heart of Malacca town and near the various historic sights/museums.

Not much really. There wasn't much to complain about. But it is not a 5-star hotel with all the amenities e.g. swimming pool, gym, sauna, bar, restaurants etc. It's intended for those who want a really nice room in a historic setting.

    10HeikePosted on: 10-29-2024

This is a very special place, an historic mansion. The house is beautiful, and the location perfect: right around the corner of Jonker Street. The staff was wonderful, and the Malaysian breakfast delicious.

Since this is an historic house with original interior, there are two things one should keep in mind:- The stairs are kind of narrow and might pose a problem for those who are not very mobile. - The beds are on the short side, and taller people might want to double-check beforehand.

The location and it was quiet unique Not their fault but not my idealLovely room looking over the river but no lounge chairs to relax and look over it with the French doors openDisappointing

Well, like it advertises it is a museumThe place is ‘dead’ there is no life to itThere are no facilities like a place to relax or even them supplying ice to the roomBreakfast not worth waking up for, dreadful with an excuse this is traditional nonya foodMy kind advice to the owners, go and stay at a boutique hotel with the same price point and compareThey are running this on the cheap but expensive

    10AzlinaPosted on: 9-10-2024

beutifully done and very clean and location is the best if you want to explore Jonker street and the historical sites.

    10EdwardPosted on: 9-8-2024

Truly exceptional- a wonderful historic hotel in the heart of the city. All the decor was ‘just right’- it had a wonderful atmosphere and felt like a home rather than a museum. All the facilities were to a high standard. All the staff very lovely especially the owner who kindly explained all the different foods served at breakfast.

    Having to leave!

Very beautiful place. Nicely decorated. Chinese traditional breakfast. Large rooms with cozy furniture.
