The Explorer Hotel

The location is ideal to Mahkota Parade, Palawan Megamall and Jonker Street.The rooms are clean but a bit too small. Hotel could provide a more complete set of basic toiletries such as shampoo, face/hand towels and tissue box.

However, due to the constant traffic jam along that stretch, it was difficult to get Grab service. The rooms are not really sound proof and we could hear the activities around the hotel till quite late into the night.

The location that close to my working site. Excellent private parking. Comfort rooms.

Just some improvement at front desk staffs. Failure to emphasis friendly welcome.

The property is located at most suitable place. Walking distance to malls, jonker walk, red buildings, A Famosa and others

2nd night stays loud bike sounds at around midnight and channels provided in TV with no choices

Very good location, restaurants everywhere, jonker street walking distance. Surprisingly the room has hairdryer. Iron and iron board was placed on 4th floor for everyones usage.

Nothing to be honest. For the price i paid, its actually exceeded my expectations.

I love the location. Near to Mall, Tourist attraction and so happening.

Really convenient location like the others have statedNo frills hotel. No pool gym etc just a nice small room to crash after sightseeing Malacca town.

Cannot complain much. To those who cannot stand the smell of durian, please bear in mind that durians are allowed in this hotel. For me this was not a problem.

Everything is good.. the location is perfect.. nearer to the taming sari and other spots

Parking need to revalidate with hotel everytime we leave to avoid paying extra cost. Don't know what's wrong with the parking system. It should be free to in/out as in your stay period and charged only rm5 at checkout.

The location very strategic. Malls, shops, restaurants are just steps away. Parking is provided.

We came in during Xmas & new year eve celebration and the main road and nearby road are closed. Had to travel extra miles to get into the hotel.

The location is very good, there was an ocean view from the west side on the 4th floor. Modern malls right next door and a very short walk to the activities and sights in old Melaka.

When we booked they told us there was a fridge we could use so I put our breakfast and tea things in a plastic bag in there. The next day they said it was only for staff but every time we wanted something they would fetch it. I got the feeling that the level of hospitality depended on who was at the desk. We had to get the TV changed in the first room because it was defective.After one night they upgraded us to a room with a minibar and a bed too short for my husband, and we moved rooms. Very nice until the next day, when the electricity didn't work in that room and we had to move to the second floor. We moved 3 times in the 3 nights, each time trying to fix whatever was wrong (like windows not shutting, defective electric plugs, nonfunctional safes, water running constantly etc. , etc.) The staff tried to fix things, but it was really tiresome to move every day and if I hadn't paid for 3 days we would have left.

Staff service is good

facilities is bad! Many items is old and not functioning I had travel more than 30 years, this is the first time i facing electrical black out at hotel and no immediate technician attend to it !

Execelent location very near to visit area.

The door to toilet very bad cannot lock and have gap between door and wall and people can see inside.

Located is a hassle location with loud noise from restaurants nearby, smelly streets and packed w vendors. The room was super small and the bathroom had molds... Not much keen in hospitality but and low side of commercial stay.

It's very very convenient. Eateries and shopping(mahkota parade, pahlawan walk, etc) are just minutes away!!!!!!!

There aren't many tv channels, the shows on it aren't very clear - rainy like on-screen, toilet a lil bit squeezy. However, who would watch too much tv time when u can shop! And also with the price paid, wouldn't fret about it too much! Overall is good! Would definitely come back!
