Grand Cakra Hotel Malang

Very convenient location. It was right across from the mall with a grocery store and plenty of food options.

The rooms and bedding were clean and comfortable. The showers could do with more attention to cleaning.

The staff are cool and the location ia very helpfull. The hotel is just across a big supermarket, some nice restaurants

The swimming pool was not maintained well. They did fix it the next day, but my children lost interested. Other rhan that the experience was very good. We stayed for 4 good nights!!

Rooms very simply, bathrooms very poor and dark :(Tovels and bed sheets grey not white :(Breakfast very poor for the non-asia guests. Coffee not good.The level doesnt correspond to the 4 stars hote at all !!!

Overall nice and clean and comfortable

WiFi was WORST. Never stayed connected for more than 10 minutes and then had to re-log in at least 5-8 times an hour. I rely on it for work and entertainment and it failed me and cost me a great deal of money and frustration

Very comfortable bed. I slept like a baby!

Breakfast was too expensive considering we are vegetarians and very few veggie options

The room was spacious. The food was great.

Internet connection was not stable. Need to log in every time want to use it. The hotel not provide iron, but they charge you if you want to use the service. International travellers need to know this so that they can prepare well before check in.

The staff is so good. They helped us so much to rent bike,and took mount bromo package.

Everything is ok. But i think they have to need to get some indian food in breakfast & hairdryer will be keep in washroom.

Hope to have brighter lights for working, stable and quick WiFi, more movie TV channels, and better water & shower quality.

It was nice and clean (except the pool) and the staff was nice! The breakfast was amazing and the location was also very good

The airconditioning had a bad smell. Also there was a lot of noise coming from outside of the building. Booking trips is expensive directly by the hotel, but they give you a number and then it is much cheaper

Almost eveything. Grand. Akra should be called medium Cakra. It has lost all it’s value of a 4 star hotel. Smelly towels, food way to greasy (it’s not hath difficult to pit lumpias first on kitchen paper to take away the grease). Waiters couldn’t really communicate, breakfast buffet was all empty ar 08:00 already. We had to ask to get something. And it seem to bother them we did ask. Croissant was from 1 days ago, and Inchewed longernon pne bite than I do on a chewing gum. Almost no fruit. Nothing without lactose (cowmilk), which is important as my kid an allergy. Let alone they were helping to find a solution. In the end, went to the supermarket for my kid’s breakfast.Oh, and they let people smoke in the breakfast area. Disgusting, even for a smoker like my brother could not understand itSwimmingpool was clean, but the surrounding is horrible. One side green bush , but they do not show on the picture on booking.com that the otherbside is the hotel itself where the wallpaint is falling of. Paint it with some fresh colors, and it is solved. In the end, we decided to leave ywo night earlier, even if we had already paid. We decided to call the hotel “grand caca” .

This is a pretty nice hotel. The rooms were decent size and comfy. A couple of chairs for sitting near the window was nice. Room service was prompt and inexpensive. Food was good and good value for money. The staff arranged a trip to Tumpack Sewu Waterfall. The neighborhood is upscale. There is nice supermarket and mall across the street.

It is far from the center of town, over 20 minutes by cab. The pool was closed for the first day, and once it opened, we found the seating around it to be a bit lacking (most of the chaise lounges were in need of repair). They put out some stacking padded chairs from the conference rooms for extra seating. The hotel lists a second flood bar, but it is only non alcoholic drinks and was closed the whole time we were there.

The bed is confortable. ACC and good atention.

The room smells a bit wet.

We stayed here before we set off to Sewu. Good location with supermarket and local restaurants around. The staffs are nice.

Would be nice if the cups are more clean.

The perfect location

The service was not as like in 4 stars hotel. And the food was not so good.

Clean, spacious, well airconditioned rooms with a nice view across to Bromo if staying on 5/F or above. Good sized pool. Friendly and helpful staff. Overall and adequate and well-maintained 4 star hotel.

All windows are completely sealed for safety, but this means there is zero ventilation in the rooms as the aircons are simple split units, there is no central air-conditioning. Consequently the air in the corridors is also stuffy, with staff always shutting the small window there if you try to open it. Another odd feature was the height of the washbasins in the bathrooms: they are placed only 71cm above the ground. For anyone over 1.80m, this means bending or kneeling to access the washbasin, a real pain if you are stiff or have a bad back.

I booked a stay for a few nights and used the hotel as a base for my trip to Bromo. Overall my stay was good and the staff were excellent.

The bathroom was very stuffy, and dirty. In addition, the WiFi did not work.

Hotel is ok; clean, right across from a shopping mall. Was a fine base to use - was there to go to Mt. Bromo.

Food was ok; rooms aren't overly quiet, hotel seems to be located a ways from the true city center.
