Cooktown Motel

No breakfast and far away from facilities

Being assigned a cheap workers room with toilet and bathroom facilities when I had paid for a full motel unit.Eventually sorted but disappointing that they tried me on!

Managers were easy to contact on arrival and very friendly, cheery, and helpful. The room and facilities were very clean and the grounds and gardens well maintained. Overall good value for money

It is 20 min walk to town centre, toilets & shower need urgent repair.

This complex has a mix of accommodation being villas, motel rooms with private shower room, and shared bathroom rooms. We stayed in motel room. Staff helpful. WiFi didn't work in room, but staff say this is being upgraded in next two weeks or so. Very basic motel room. OK for the price.

Need a car to get to town centre.

Quiet location, close to town centre. Lovely friendly staff. Great value budget accomodations and very clean. Large communal kitchen available for use. Icy cold aircon.

The motel is obviously older - this is not a complaint, just a statement, it didn't bother me whatsoever. Everything was well looked after and spotlessly clean

There was a lovely pool to swim in, the room was clean and convenient

The location , staff, and gardens. Many of the guests were also nice.

Being placed next to people who chain smoke cigarettes outside their room. Wasn’t able to sit outside my room to enjoy a cuppa in the morning. May I suggest a designated smoking area away from the rooms.

Location ok but need a car to get into town. Garden well maintained. Staff very friendly. Air con good and big fridge.

Pillows need replacing - they are so old. Expensive for an average motel. The 2 hot plates were rusted. Cupboards had musty smell.

The staff were absolutely brilliant, especially Mel. For the price, the facilities were great and everywhere was clean.

Didn't pay a lot so expected a run down motel. Facilities were excellent and very good value for money. Clean, comfortable rooms with good advice from the staff of what to see and do and where to eat.

It was clean and better then a tent. Shower had good pressure.

Water leaked from bathroom to room. Was very basic. Needs a reno. Bed needs to be bigger.

The property was neither new nor fancy but had a good feel. Staff were great, helpful.

Location. It was a little far to walk to the centre of town but doable if no issues with knee joints. The traffic noise, from trucks in particular, on the loud side at times.

New owner really looked after us after change our booking multiple times and then showing up requiring extra room.Very accommodating

Nothing. It was as expected. A little walk into town but we got the courteousy bus each day way in the evening. Easy!

The reviews are terrible but since I had stayed at this hotel many years ago I thought I would try again. It was once a backpackers hence it is set up with common kitchen which is useful. As I am a budget traveller so it filled all my expectations and Cooktown has very limited budget accommodation. The staff are very friendly and helpful..

Never a great fan of common bathrooms but that is what I booked. There do have rooms with private bathrooms. There are a few maintenance issues such as smoke detectors disconnected loose power points

Very friendly and helpful staff especially Mel. We forgot our picnic basket and she was so lovely and helpful that she is bringing it to Cairns for us this weekend. Very clean facilities

the parking arrangements were terrible, very hard to park and not enough room. taken up by management cars and boats.Staff were rude when i parked in the wrong spot

It was reasonably cheap

We were given 1 towel for 2 people and no drinking glasses

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Also very accommodating when I had to add an extra nights stay.

Very simple room, but had everything for our stay, and very clean. I loved the layout of the motel, had a very friendly atmosphere.
