On the Friday night there were some people staying that were drinking outside and pretty loud. I believe it ended before mid night but it was loud. That was on Boxing Day.
Great to have the early checkin. Room & facilities all very clean, kitchenette had everything we needed. Friendly staff at checkin.
A good basic motel walking distance to beaches and town centre. Great that, in our room, the aircon wasn’t directly over the bed like in so many hotels.
The shower is very small – it was fine for us but if you’re a bigger person it would be difficult.

Great location, clean apartment, comfy bed. The manager and staff are helpful and friendly. 8-minute walk to Surf Beach and 5-minute walk to Kendall's Beach through the beautiful Rose Garden. It is a great choice and budget-friendly for a couple if you are planning a few-day trip to the coast. Definitely, we will be returning to stay at the 617 motel again.
Reception staff where friendly
Bathroom was filthy, tiles mouldy and dirty on walls and floor - disgusting
Clean and very comfortable. A perfect family room especially for two kids less than teenage.
Old building thin walls can hear talking in next door room. Procedure for when reception closed needs attention.
Centrally located, nice garden, homely
Advised reception screen door didn’t lock . Was told ‘yes, some do, some don’t’. I would have liked to leave main door open for a bit of breeze on hot days / nights .
We were in the family room with two of our grandchildren. There was plenty of room and even a little breakfast corner with a round table in the morning light. Staff were friendly and kind.
