Pros +
- The location was good for our specific evening activities at the Oxford. It's good for driving distance to the track however there were too many things that went wrong for us to ever want to return.
- Very convenient location
- Parking was convenient. The only positive I can say
Cons -
- The rooms looked nothing like the photos being advertised. The size of the room was ridiculously small. We were unable to open both of our bags at the same time as there was not enough floor space to have two people and one bag open and be able to move around the room. The bathroom hardware was broken and the vanity door remained open on a 45° angle hitting your leg. There was a mobile portable air conditioning unit at the foot of the bed that was not against the wall, that had a flexible duct pipe which went a hole in the glass in the window, that prevented the blind from completely closing, therefore letting external light into the room as well as reducing the amount of privacy to the balcony outside the window. Other rooms could see directly into our room and subsequently bathroom. The room did not have any shampoo, conditioner or body wash. When my girlfriend was in the bathroom about to have a shower she called me to go downstairs and ask for some and the staff member said we don't normally give them out as he was going through boxes of small hotel, sample size, shampoo, body wash and conditioner tubes. There was no housekeeping. The rooms were not exceptionally clean when we got into the room, but we were so tired that we let it slide the first night of three. However, there was no housekeeping throughout the day and when we returned the following night from being out all day, the room was exactly the same as it was because nobody had been into the room to provide fresh towels or replenish the very small samples of shampoo and body wash. Where were you in when we asked for some. On the Sunday morning we both went to have a shower and there was no hot water in the room we thought that it was isolated to potentially a hot water unit within the room. However, it turns out that all of our friends in their rooms had the same issue and the entire hotel had no hot water.
- A bit unclean. Web page mentioned breakfast room but this was not accurate
- The room was hot, dusty, sheets on bed had brown marks on them and pillows. Couldn't tell if towels were stained or dirty. Bathroom hadn't been clean, faeces on seat of toilet. Then there was the air-conditioning i wouldny call it that. It was a portable one that hardly blew cold air. Stayed during heatwave and we roasted and ended up with heatstroke. Dont nor recommend staying here . I would rather stay further away and travel to area if need be.

The bar area ok. No breakfast.
No lift. Bad stairs. No off street parking very small room. Only a double size bed. Inadequate air conditioning
Breakfast and dinner were good
Room very average, not clean and portable aircond sounded like a chaff cutter
Convenience and location.
The previous occupants dirty towels were left in the bathroom behind the door and spare linen left in the room.
The bed
The stairs No microwave Small fridge and not clean Shower over bath....hard access with bad hipAsked for refund....to no avail No information of access to local places No Air conditioning
Stayed here during the Bathurst 1000 ,nice clean simple room with bathroom, pleasant & very friendly staff throughout the whole establishment Well priced meals and drinks Highly recommended
Location was convenient and close to things in townStaff were friendly Check in was fast Ok if you are on a tight budget
Room was very small, photos make it look a lot bigger and doesn’t look like the photosRooms are not air conditioned Windows do not open for air flowRoom was damaged and not the cleanest, it was very dusty and needed a good thorough clean/vacuumBathroom had an odd stench that would not goThere is no holder in the shower to put toiletries onShower pressure was quite poor and would spray in different directions also making the bathroom floor wet and not a very good showering experience Bathroom floor was wet when we arrived and looked like either sink or toilet had a leakPersonally not a fan of shower curtains which the shower had and no option to hang it up out of the wayThere was also a deceased bird outside on the balcony when you look out the window where other hotel would also see which wasn’t nice to see, this could have been cleaned up by staff so customers would not see that when you look out your window This place would be ok for only a 1 night stay if you are on a slim budgetStaff were friendly when checking inCheck in was simple and easy
We did not have breakfast at the hotel as we were meeting another group of friends so went to a local cafe.
I feel a little more attention to detail such as in my room the rubbish bin still had the rubbish from the previous people.bits and pieces of small rubbish still in room on the floor.
Good location
No a/c, stuffy room, dark corridor and 2 flights of stairs with no elevator.
Location, on-site dining & breakfast options, renovated bar & dining areas whilst retaining charm & character of the solid 'bones' of the building.
Second time we have stayed here across different seasons. Highly recommend that the owners stay overnight in each room & log all the shortcomings...of which there are many. Attention to detail of cleaners - toothpaste splatter still evident on tapware, lint dust all over tea / coffee making facilities.Practical considerations- no soap holder / caddy in shower, shower curtain used on 2 sides which immediately wraps tight around you like a cryo-vacced piece of steak, electric blanket only working on one side. Ridiculous reliance on cheap creaking column heaters in winter & tacky portable AC's in summer ducted through a permenant porthole in the window, which by default allows draught & noise to enter the room continuously. We even had to request a change of rooms upon entry, due to tap spindle leaking across vanity top & pooling on bathroom floor...wet socks straight off the bat!
They are doing this hotel up and it will be great when finished however the rooms are needing upgrading as far as bathrooms are concerned. When renovated I would stay there again. The meals in the hotel were great with plenty of choice.
The central location. Nice cafe.
The room needs updating. Bathroom is extremely old. Broken and missing draw in the bathroom.
A convenient spot to stay as we have previously. Always a beautiful meal in the Bistro and our motorcycles were locked up underneath. Delicious breakfast at the Drake & Duck.
Not quite as clean as previously.
Good location
window couldn't lock. I had to use some personal items to block window from being accessed from outside
Close to town centre. The cafe downstairs has great food and beverages for breakfast.
Location and the restaurant and cafe are great
Room not perfect but fine
The staff were lovely and were very willing to help. The bedrooms were neat and tidy. The meals in the restaurant were fantastic.
The cleanliness of the shower was not up to our liking and did present with a fair bit of mould especially on the bottom of the shower curtain. The carpet at the top and around the bed I don't think had been vacuumed for months.
Great location
Really unclean, unfriendly staff
