Commercial Motel

They need to do regular maintenance . Tooks us 15 min to open lock . Front door lock , need to lift entire door up. Inside bathroom door lock was broken . Room no 102 We rent 2 room , both room had no tv connection.

Was very quiet .

The breakfast

3 flights of stairs, old grotty carpet, bed cramped up against the wall, TV didn't work, outside of building looked like an abandoned warehouse, no parking ? the pictures on line did not match the room!

Have stayed here a few times and it's definitely the best value in town. (I've stayed in another one too but the Commercial is now my go-to.) Easy after hours check-in with room key left in a lock box. Very comfortable beds, nice cool air conditioning on a very hot night, good shower, basic breakfast included (cereal, toast, tea/coffee). A short walk to a great pub dinner (Riverina Hotel)..

The breakfast room isn't open until 8am which didn't affect me but would be disappointing if you want an early start.

Nothing terrible nothing like the photos presented wifi didn’t work

Dirty old carpet on entry and staircase rooms were tiny and the wifi didn’t work

The veranda would have been a lovely spot for a morning coffee if it hadn’t been quite so hot outside.The Jolly Jumbuck Bistro down the street serves amazing, generously sized meals, and the coffee van directly across from the hotel entrance made delicious coffee

The king bed was comfortable as long as you stayed on your own side, although the join between the two king singles was a little uneven, and the small tear in the carpet was easy to catch on. The shower had low pressure and the temperature tended to fluctuate. There are also several stairs to reach the upper floor, and some noise from trucks on the main street during the night. Breakfast was simple — cereal, toast, and instant coffee — suitable for travellers wanting something quick before heading off again

After a long drive to reach the Commercial Hotel in Hay, we arrived at 5:45pm. We went to reception, expecting it to be staffed, as the sign clearly stated that someone would be available until 6pm. Unfortunately, no one was present.We were travelling with a family member who has M.S. and is unable to walk up stairs. The property appeared unclean, with sticky floors and an overall poor level of cleanliness. Due to these issues, we were unable to stay and had to find alternative accommodation, which was quite difficult given the time of year.

It was great to be able to stay somewhere with your pets. Aircon was good.

The carpet was heavily stained, and there was no hot water, which wasn't great after a long drive and one thing we needed to feel refreshed ready for the next long car stint the following day.There was no one on arrival. Carpets all through the building were quite stained. Very run-down indeed. But, with pets, beggars cannot be choosers!

Location was good

Wi fi did not work. Door banging all night, every time the door banged the dog in the next room barked. Over all got very little sleep. Shower tap came off in my hand, so impossible to control water temperature. Basin tap was similar

Balcony, free brreakfast.

TV did not work.

Clean room and location.

I could not get the TV to work , despite pressing numerous buttons. Phoned the place twice (there was no one on the front desk) and was told by the female who answered that someone would attend to it. No one arrived and I spent the night TV less.

I asked for a ground floor unit and got upstairs which made it difficult for an 80 year old to manage the stairs

Being allowed to travel and stay with our dog.

The dbl bed in room 115 was terribly uncomfortable with the springs broken on one side of the bed

Clean and comfortable room

Loose gravel in the carpark only adds to generate dust in and already dusty environment. Whilst the room could be locked, anyone could access the building which was not secure.

Cleanliness of rooms.

Noisy bathroom fan. Bathroom slide door didn't work. No signal to the TV all evening.

Breakfast was standard but, as it was included in the price, very acceptable. Nice roomy shower and space to put personal belongings.

Bedside reading lights would be welcome.

Value for money

States free wifi however no access to this and no staff around to ask.

Nice historic building and good location. Nice shower with new tiles Comfortable bed with new clean linen.

My room smelt like bleach and air stale. Couldn't open the windows, one was held with masking tape. The air conditioner controller was in Chinese so hard to work out. Bathroom sink tap wobbled around and the towel rail was falling off the wall.TV wasn't tuned into any channels and you need a password to do this. No staff on site after 6pm, so no TV.

Quiet rooms, comfy beds, great staff, definitely will be staying again. ?

There is nothing I did not like.

Nice converted pub . Access to the old pub balcony was a bonus

Bathroom was tight, although modern and clean
