Great location, within walking distance of some good restaurants. The provided self-cook kitchen was stocked with the basics for a nice little breakfast, or the hotel is close enough to an awesome little cafe called Rascals (or something similar)The rooms were quiet, and it’s certainly an old hotel with a lot of history.

Where to start? If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to sleep in a forensic exhibit, this hotel delivers. The bedhead featured a curious collection of hairs, fluff, and other mysterious human leftovers — most of which had migrated to the so-called clean sheets. The toilet was freestanding in the literal sense, wobbling heroically while leaking “water” across the floor. As for the air conditioner, it sounded like a disgruntled steam train giving up on life mid-hill. Memorable, but for all the wrong reasons.

    location

T.V. did not work for the stay and it was not replaced after informing staff.

The bed was very comfortable, room was very tidy and neat. With provided tv was amazing, something to entertain ourselves. Also, mini fridge was useful as well . Was close to the hospital and being in main street area was a game changer to just walk and not drive barely?

There was a lot of spider webs on the bathroom window with also an alive black spider on the window. Which kinda scared me being so close to the toilet. But other than that, was an awesome place to stay at.

    The kitchen with complementary drinks.

The cobwebs and it was a bit untidy in the bathroom.

    8HelenPosted on: 3-2-2025

We enjoy the kitchen for breakfast before we booked out. Only thing was some people did not do their dishes which I ended up doing. But no biggy.

    8LucaPosted on: 1-22-2025

Easy check in, great location, great price. Gave us all we needed, just needed a place to stay

The fire alarm situation made showers a bit anxious, but nothing too crazy

    6TonyPosted on: 1-17-2025

Pub meals were nice and the location was ideal for what we required. The staff were friendly and happy to assist when required. The shower had good pressure and was

The television didn't work and the bedside lamp was also blown so reading at night meant the big light had to be on. There was also no remote for the television.

    Passable

My room was dirty and the wifi wasn’t strong at all. The food in the restaurant was so expensive for what it was.

    5TanyaPosted on: 1-10-2025

Location was excellent, easy access to upstairs room with key, secure as only available to staying guests.

We booked, and paid for, a triple room (1D1S). Upon checkin advised this had been changed to a double without notification. When queried it was stated this was based on the booking being for 2 people and they were “very busy”. Was Offered a balcony room for one of our two nights, “if we wanted to pay extra”. Presumptuous to assume that the 2 guests were a couple, or even a couple who share a bed. Disappointing attitude from staff in relation to this action.

    3BerniePosted on: 1-4-2025

We had a disgustingly small room with 2 single beds, and no cupboards, table chairs etc. we could barely walk around the beds, room bout 10ft x 15ft. I asked to be moved and Lee Ellis said they didn't have any more rooms and no discount because she said that's what you get for booking online.

Didn't like the room at all and the attitude of the receptionist was terrible.

    9JasonPosted on: 1-2-2025

Good food, nice pub, private bathroom. Closed early on my stay, so a peaceful sleep too.

Checkin did not explain which areas close at night for access to accom.

    6PamelaPosted on: 10-20-2024

close to everything. the heritage of the building.

the smell of the room when first entering.the hard mattress and stinky pillow.

    Location availability

The staff member was extremely rude and the beds were so uncomfortable

    7NigelPosted on: 10-7-2024

Location was great. Our room had a fridge that wasn't working, but the staff were great and we were moved to another room. The TV remote control wasn't working, but again the the staff were great and the problem resolved.

Better checking by staff of facilities in rooms, but the reception staff handled things very well.

    6JenniferPosted on: 8-16-2024

The room was spacious and the beds were super comfy. We chose to have a room overlooking the ocean. The shared kitchen allowed us to make our own breakfast.

Our car was able to be left in the car park at the back of the hotel. We had to lug luggage through the car park, down the outside stairs, through the hotel, up two sets of stairs and around several corridors to our room. The window was so high you couldn't see out to see the ocean properly.
