    Pros +

    • really liked the way the room had been refurbished.
    • Great Position, good food and drink.
    • Good size room with access to the balcony which overlooks the main street. Great Irish pun on the ground floor with great selection of beers and and decent menu. The portions are big! Upstairs is a fine dining restaurant with a classy menu. A bit pricey tho

    Cons -

    • desk in room was broken
    • Room 12 is closeset to the gold Bar and Friday and saturday night is impossible to sleep until 3am in the morning.
    • There isn't a lift so hauling suitcases up the staircase is a bit of a mission for me as I have health issues. There are no staff to assist.

Very expensive noting the level of noise coming from the Nightcliub under the rooms. Fair enough it's a pub room but it was over $200 a night

Drop the price to suit the lack of sleep

Beautiful internal architecture, heritage furniture and historical information in the foyer, landing and Irish restaurant.Menu offered and food served in both the Irish Pub/Restaurant and Balcony Restaurant were excellent.

Inadequate supply of towels, and an inadequate size of the one towel that was supplied in the room.Needed more tea, sugar and milk supplies.A used dinner plate, utensils and three used wine glasses had been left on the carpeted floor of the passage way for the whole duration of stay.Did not see any website information in regard to booking accommodation in the Palace Chambers building.

We did not stay for breakfast. The only good thing about the hotel was it’s charm.

We had to move rooms as our first one was like a jail cell. We paid extra for a refurbished room but was so disappointed. The receptionist moved us when I told her of my concerns and even though the next room was bigger there was not much to like about it.

Breakfast unavailable. Only for workers 4am to 5am

Left door open after cleaning. Toilet needed to be opened up after every flush to stop water running. Bathroom tap leaked. Neither fixed during 3 day stay.Breakfast unavailable. Difficult to find staff.

An amazing period building in a perfect prime position. Rooms are a little dated but clean and comfortable. Balcony restaurant is outstanding!

Evening meal was exceptional - the three of us all had different main courses and all were great.

Shower was small and the shower head difficult to adjust to a comfortable position.

    Central position in townBalcony restaurant

Poorly appointed rooms. Ensuite is what you would expect in the 1960s. Not sure about fire precautions. Would not pass in uk.

Checkin was easy inside the Irish pub. The suites were located in the building next door and had a few historical touches which was nice. The rooms were spacious and clean and secure. Great being next to a pub to grab a drink and dinner.

The parking was a little insecure but immediately adjacent to the room. The room fronted directly onto the street and had a large crack in the glass but it did look secure enough. Was a little worried about noise from outside or adjoining rooms but once in the bedrooms with the door shut it was very quiet.

    Central location and friendly staff

Thread bare carpets and run down feeling about the place. Also not impressed with the exaggerated Irish Ness. This was our 3rd visit there.

    Location in town

Small room, not well maintained, no staff.

    Didn't have breakfast.

TV only had SBS and ABC channels and the couch was so unconfortabe .

The original room allocated to me had no window which is a feature of this hotel. However ,as usual,$26 extra secured a room with a door which had an opaque sheet of glass leading on to a veranda.

As above, rooms with no window are a feature of South &South East Asia & unfortunately also at the Palace in Kalgoorlie. Also the property is very noisy,I stayed on a Saturday night, the “music” went on till 0400am.

patio room 26, lovelyroom 51 very sub standard, leaking taps in bathroom and not really clean.Staff once again extremely helpful, especially Helena and Lisa. Courteous and accommodating.

    nothing, all good

Location was central, beds were clean and fairly comfortable, towels were clean, air conditioning worked well.

We paid $158 per night for this - not a huge sum you might think, but: The room was a dingy box with a tiny window over the bathroom door, obscured completely by red dust. Bathroom was a disgrace - old, grubby, badly cracked glass shower wall, tiles missing, mould in shower grout, chipped and grubby paintwork - horrible. Needed to iron a shirt - no iron (anywhere in hotel apparently) and the laundry was a joke, carpets in corridor badly water stained and torn, no housekeeping at all available from check in to departure; no in-room phone and couldn't access anybody downstairs as nobody answered the phone, so every time I needed to check something (wifi password, in room supplies etc) I had to run up and down the staircase (I'm 77 so it's not as easy as you would think!). To be fair, I complained to the (really charming) bar manageress about the conditions on day 2, and she did offer to 'upgrade' me, but the prospect of packing up and moving while my husband was out for one more night was too daunting to contemplate.

    10RobynPosted on: 2-2-2025

    Central, well lit up.

No hot water, wasn't a big issue this time as the temp outside was 45 degrees. Winter might be an issue.

    5ChristinePosted on: 1-20-2025

It was a good location and clean

My room's air conditioner wasn't working well.

The hotel has a very impressive entrance hallway of a bygone era.We had a fantastic dinner in the restaurant, sat out on the balcony.

We were advised to park on the street as there are security cameras there, so our car would be safe overnight. We were advised that if we parked in the hotel carpark round the back there are no cameras and our car wouldn't be safe.Whilst the entrance was grand and impressive, it is a little worn with threadbare carpet. There was no window in our bedroom, so it felt a bit like being in a prison cell.
