Captain Cook Motor Lodge

Clean and nice room. Lots of parking.

This motel is situated on a heavy vehicle bypass which is used by logging trucks from 4am onwards. I saw lots of kind reviews for this motel and only one a long way down the list mentioning the noise here. We wonder how helpful the reviews really are.

Big TV comfy bed and spa bath. The beach.

Sticky front door and hot water coming out the cold taps for 5 minutes ..pretty weird.

They had air con! Which was a necessity since it was 33 degrees when we were there. Great location close to town and the beach. The 2 bedroom apartment with one room with 3 singles was great for our three daughters. Everyone got their own bed.

The pillows were not great. The place was pretty basic, but you’re not there to hang out in the room so was fine

I think from the start of even booking and communication was excellent, to booking in and grabbing my room key was just really informative, happy and when I got to my room there was milk and waters in the fridge. Excellent

Maybe a beer in the fridge lol.... haha nah everything was just perfect thank you.

The room was clean, tidy, they gave me complimentary 2 water bottles, there was also a good sized fresh milk in the fridge. There was a microwave, and enough cutlery for me to heat food etc. Also it was just across Waikanae beach!

The bed was getting a bit old, it was almost too hard to sleep on.

very clean everywhere. simple but well appointed room. Comfortable bed. No noise from other guests.

A bedside shelf or table and a bedside lamp or wall light by the bed would improve the room.

Bathroom floor had dirty marks and soap dispenser was not most effective

The facility are big and bed.

Restaurant was closed on weekend. Can’t do early check in.

Didn’t know the road was used for all trucking into town. Every time a truck went past, the room shook. And our room was roadside so very noisy

Parking spaces are wide, room was large and the whole place was very, very clean!

Ah… no complaints at all.

I liked that the room at Netflix and the room.was spacious and the pressure of the shower was good.

On one side of the bed there was no bedside table or lamp. The bed was only a queen size and we are used to a king.

The room was just right for me and my 4 year old son. I loved how I could wash and dry my clothes, the cute kitchen where I cooked me and my son the mean lamb chop meal

Fantastic location walk to beach. Parking right outside room. Very friendly helpful people. Comfortable & very clean .Would definitely stay again. Thank you

Room was clean, the bed comfortable and the shower was fine. Looked fairly modern inside.

Room quite cramped, rather soul-less atmosphere. Not great value.

Clean comfy room, conveniently located near the start of the parkrun.
