Avalon Motel Thames - Wenzel Motels

Clean, quiet, comfortable, pleasant grounds, and even had a laundry. This was a last minute find and we liked our first night so much we booked another.

The two mornings we were there the reception did not open at 8am as listed. By 10am it was still not open. That was not a big deal and we heard that they were addressing some issue.

The pool and beautiful gardens. The hotel room was nice too.

Nowhere to put things in the bathroom

Very clean, great location and amazing staff who went out of their way to be helpful.

Only real issue was the internet - or more specifically- the lack of it.Kept dropping out and we had to search for a location where we could get a weak signal.Not helpful for travellers who want to keep in contact with family overseas.

Well located. Quiet, sitting back off the main road. friendly staff.reacted and actioned quickly to my comment that a toilet seat was previously damaged in our unit.

Lovely place to stay, and within easy walking distance of the restaurants. Room was a great size, clean and well-appointed. Maria on the front desk was delightful. Would stay here again.

Friendly staff. Our accommodation was very comfortable and relaxing. Loved the pool. Laundry facilities very good.

Close to the main road which you could hear during the day, it was quiet during the e night.

This is a refurbished motel and it is spacious and comfortable and very clean

Reception was a bit ho hum but might have been an off duty session

it was a larger space than i expected. Small kitchenette was well appointed. Had everything we needed

Clean, well setup, good in room accessories provided too. Plus great hosts! They were really warm and receptive to us, even being on their Xmas day, they still smiled and were incredibly helpful.

Bottom of some walls showing major wear, some doors need repainting, just detracts away from overall experience but doesn't physically affect the great room experience, more so the aesthetic appeal.

Good sized accomodation

Room was missing light bulb and extra toilet paper. Also, we stayed 2 nights, but room didn't get made up even though we put the sign up to have it done. Room decor was tired and visibly damaged. For the price we paid we expected a higher standard, it felt like a budget motel.

Friendly staff. Large, super quiet, and very clean room. Nice pool.

Tight parking

Lovely place, bed was comfortable. Close to what we needed. Had washing machine and dryer so was able to do some washing. Was close to a main road but never heard noise during the night.

Handy to venue that I was attending for a Christmas function. Very comfortable bed.Dog friendly

Great sized studio unit. Good shower. Comfortable bed. Parking close to the door to the unit.

Some road noise when outside, but not once the ranch slider was closed.

Very large rooms with kitchenette. Nice outlook to gardens and pool area. Staff were very helpful.

A little too far too walk to the part of town where the restaurants are.
