    Pros +

    • Its convenience to where we were going.
    • The property is set in an adorable garden area with wonderful views of the bay, perfect for a sunset, which is what guests did in chairs provided in the lawn. The A-frame was perfect. Clean, comfortable, and delightful. I had breakfast in the porch and gazed at the bay in the evening.
    • The little milk bottles were cute (daughters comment ) . Had all the standard amenities and we like washing line and pegs for drying things. Good advice in hand book about bugs. Staff member brought us an extra fan as one was broken. Daughters appreciated the makeup removal cloth in bathroom. It is a cleaver uses of a small space to give privacy for guests within the unit.

    Cons -

    • I found the place delightful and would book again on my next visit. Even its location just outside Thames was perfect as you have the quiet of being outside the town but convenience of its busy downtown just a short drive away.
    • Air conditioning /heater was broken. One ligh blub was electrically faulty, one fan was broken (but was switched out on request) other fan was very dusty so need to wipe down before use.
    • Our chalet was the closest to the road. And it was extremely warm. There was no air conditioning, just a fan.

Location was good. Was quite roomy. Kitchen was what we needed

There were no bug screens on the windows. Bathroom sink taps were backwards ( hot was on the right)

The place is bang opposite to the sea and the view is really superb. The owners are sweet and accommodating. The room was really comfortable and really clean.

The bathroom didn't have a lock. Being close to the nature and lot of spiders were there. Rest all was good.

    Good location.Daily change of towels.

    Only one chair

Not a lot was no hot meal and very small amount to pick from other wise

All the rules telling you what you can cook and can't cook and get charged if you don't adhere to the rules

was in a good location handy to Thames

bathroom cramped shower was really hit or miss trying to get set . needs curtains on the large windows to keep light out , car park space really tight

The outlook was really nice. I enjoyed watching the Sunset over the water. It was quite private too, we were the only people staying on this side of the accommodation that we could see.

It was a little damp, the carpets didn't feel clean and there were little black flying bugs in the bedroom. The Sky TV didn't work, and Wi-Fi was patchy.

Paying $244 dollars, non refundable for an unclean unit

The room needed to be cleaner. My partner is very particular about cleanliness and felt sick as soon as we entered to unit. We elected not to stay after attending the function we were at and returned to Hamilton.

Very spacious, it was bigger than I thought it would be. There was a sea view. Big comfortable bed.

I didn’t like where I had to park the car. I understood why..but, I still didn’t like it.

    Manager was lovely, very friendly?

The place was dirty.. cobweb, spiders, the floor hadnt been vacuumed properly.. there was a strong smell from the air freshner had to switch it off.. the bed was not comfortable.. should have got pics

The bed was Comfortable and the shower was good.

The walk up the stairs to our villa wasn’t the safest. There was no air conditioning and even though it was hot , we couldn’t sit in our villa until the sun was going down.

    6JoePosted on: 2-23-2025

Location wise is good, however the parking is not close to the room, especially if your staying up stairs. It's a shame the scopes of this place is beautiful but, it lacks the basics!

Where do I start with this place! ?The stairs going up is very loose & squeaky, I don't feel it's safe. We had room 14 their were alot of black bugs around the outside of the room and some in side the sink (kitchen) & theirs No Aircon! Just a noisy ceiling fan that sounds like a ticking clock! Their was a standard fan available but it was dusty and just blows the same warm air around the room. There were little notes around the kitchen and bathroom areas, the bathroom one was shocking! It's unprofessional to tell your guest to limit their shower time or even say to "stagger the time" by 20 min for the next person to shower because you only have a 40ltr cylinder?‍♀️People pay $200 + per night, surely you can afford a bigger water cylinder, please remove this signage it's insulting! Paying guest don't need to know details, just upgrade it and fix the problem, switch to gas?‍♀️The room has cobwebs hanging over the bed & in the bathroom. Attention to detail is needed when it comes to cleaning! The shower is way too small & the shower head needs upgrading to a modern version, the one you can remover or adjust the height, the shower pressure is also not great, very slow. Overall this place is okay for one night but not any longer unless they fix up the basics. I highly recommend Sunset Motel 2min up the road, they set the standard & more value for money & very clean, even better you actually get a water view!

Coastal Motor Lodge Thames rates 100% for location location location, and Michelle gave us a classic friendly Kiwi welcome. It's an oldish property but our chalet 15 was spacious & comfy and had a great view .100% for its gorgeous location & sunsets, and Michelle's bubbly nature.

Our first impression was marred by it having the previous guest's breakfast dishes in the sink when we checked in! (Slack cleaner maybe?)At check in you're asked to acknowledge house rules which include a total ban on cooking spicy foods, seafoods & curries in your room, & there's signage to same effect in the room. Mind you there was a lack of basic cooking equipment in the room so it was nigh on impossible to prepare anything! So sad to say we give it a zero score for kitchenette amenities as there wasn't even a kitchen knife so I was using my Swiss Army knife to chop an onion & parsley. My wife went to see Michelle asking for a knife & chopping board, which she supplied & apologies were given for mysterious lack of kitchenware. Following morning we were supplied a couple more cooking utensils which apparently should've been in our room but had been put in an adjacent room by other guests. Shouldn't staff have checked? Tried using the BBQ but no BBQ tools nor BBQ cleaning equipment & it was pretty dilapidated - broken lid handle.Windows at rear of room above bed needed a good hose down and clean to remove cobwebs etc

Great location with beautiful views of the water and the most magnificent sunset. Our room was perfect and clean, beds comfy. Michelle was amazing to deal with, nice and friendly and very welcoming. We will definitely stay again

Great views from the balcony of the sunset over the water. Loved having so much more space than a standard hotel room. Friendly staff.
