    Pros +

    • Wonderful old world charm. Hotel employee checked us in and was absolutely outstanding. Very informative and helpful. I would highly recommend.
    • Beautiful heritage style hotel. Comfortable bed and good location.
    • A nice older house

    Cons -

    • Everything was great.
    • A few breakfast items had run out and weren’t restocked for us.
    • The room we had was old, the walls were dirty with holes, the paint in the bathroom peeling, the tiles in the shower moldy in spots, the faucet leaking. How sad as with a bit of tlc the property could be wonderful.

Very quiet and convenient location to the middle of town. The breakfast was very nice and our room was very comfortable.

The room was a bit warm when we arrived and it would've been nice to be able to open the window. Otherwise, everything else was good.

Lovely heritage property with a nice bar area and beautifully layed out rooms. Brekky was also provided.

    Close to town

Poor lighting in car park and west gate entrance. As a solo single woman very disconcerting

    lovely aesthetics, breaky very good.

lovely bar and lounge not open to use in evening. all closed up.

    good breakfast, good showers

Could not open windows as no insect screens fitted. Some walls need a little paint touchup.

Great little place, warm and clean and cheap to boot!

The location of the property is excellent, central in Bairnsdale. The bedside table was dirty, I suspect that it had not been cleaned between guests. The breakfast was very basic with few choices. It is very sad that this beautiful establishment has lost its personal touch

The bed was not comfortable and the room had not been cleaned properly Very disappointing ?

Large rooms, quiet, very comfy beds, great continental breakfast. 1 min walk onto main street shops, great restaurants and pubs.

Everything except the check in process.

The check in process was done online and I had to provide all the information on my driver's licence and my credit card information. If there was ever a data leak the two most valuable pieces of information would be stolen at the same time.

Charming old-style original buildings, fantastic location, friendly and responsive on-site staff and very good facilities.

Beds were not set up as requested but the problem was quickly remedied. The floor was not as clean as we would have expected but this was also quickly addressed when staff were made aware. There was conflicting information about the cost of adding an extra bed to the room but this was quickly resolved with a call directly to the hotel. Reception was not staffed over the weekend which felt a bit lonely, like the hotel was missing it's heart.

Loved the location - walking distance from good eateries. Good sized room and bathroom. Very pleasant.

Lovely place to stay.Great breakfast. However, both my wife and I are in our 70s and were disappointed to discover upon arrival that we were on the first floor. Up a narrow staircase of 25 steps and no staff on site to assist with our cases. I would expect to be given this information on booking rather than on arrival.

    beautiful building

shower water ran out of bathroom across the floor and out the front door and breakfast access door wasn't open and had to walk around building until you could find a door that was open then some of the menu had already ran out with very little staff to replenish supplies

    7RobynPosted on: 3-24-2025

Rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable. Location was great.

Check in was horrible. We weren’t sent any codes or details about checking in or getting in. I ended up ringing 6 times before I spoke to someone for room details.

    8JeanPosted on: 3-15-2025

Beautiful big guesthouse. Close to shops. Easy walking to eateries.

Couldn't open windows. So no air in the room. Only saw l person in the morning, not very talkative. All parking instructions and room directions were delivered via text.

    7PaulinePosted on: 3-12-2025

Room very comfortable, place was beautiful and quiet

The process of finding and getting into my room. I had to provide estimate time of arrival but no body available to meet me. Both doors at front of property labeled enterance/ or reception were locked, I had to go to the back of the property and navigate very detailed and long text about how to caress the property. Even with this I still neeeded to phone for some information. The property advertised a bar and restaurant, neither were open and no where on the site was it mentioned that they would be closed
