Sanctuary House Resort Motel

It was very quiet. Very basic, ok but nothing too much to recommend

The toilet was leaking. I didn't report it but it would have been noticed.

Room clean and bed comfortable

Room 17 is semi detached with room 16. Decor old, but maintained. Wooden floors, common entry and thin walls make it extremely noisy. Room 16 occupants arrived at 2230 and ran TV for 2 hours - then left at 0530 next morning. No-one at reception on arrival, saw no staff the entire stay. TV did not work. Breakfast was supposed to be available after 0830 - dining room was deserted - still no staff available.No idea what main building rooms are like, but do not accept rooms 16, or 17 unless you know the occupants of the other room well.

Sheets and towels were spotlessly clean

It was an older property. Needed refurbishing. Not like the photos. No glasses in the room. Floor in shower and toilet was less than clean. The carpet was soiled in front of fridge. There wasn’t a chair in the room. The furnishings were old and needed refurbishing. Curtains were hanging on the floor. The painting on the outside of the room was peeling and chipping off and needs repair. All for the price of $255. Ridiculous price for this property. So disappointing as booked this property after seeing photos on Booking. Com. The photos we saw would be many years old. The children’s playground was there but was all very faded colours not what the ad shows. An expensive disappointing, misleading stay. By the way the restaurant was there but was closed on Valentine’s Day. Really??? Would never stay there again. Value $120 a night would have been more the price gor this aged property. The rooms are very small. The young man on the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. I am wondering whether he was an employee or owner.

Location was good

Very very dated, restaurant and bar permanently closed,

Beds were comfy.

Pool wasn't very clean. Fridge wasn't turned on for our arrival.Lots of noises during the night....

Quaint, clean and available.

Resteraunt not open.Breakfast is available on request.

Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Air conditioner worked well on hot night.

bathroom facilities too small, half hand basin and no shelves or anywhere to put toiletries. Remote control for television did not work. No instructions on how to use tv or get programmes,

The room was very clean and the bed comfortable with plenty of pillows etc. There was tea and coffee and cutlery if you were eating a meal in the room.

The outside area looked a bit run down with dead plants and not much maintenance evident. The children's playground was overgrown with weeds. There wasn't much street appeal.

Spacious room, four poster bed, and beautiful spa bath.

The room was lovely

The person looking after the place for the owners claimed he was left with nothing, previously we've had brilliant breakfasts and dining in the on site restaurant which was closed..overall doubt we'll be going back when previously it was wonderful

Very close to Healesville, comfortable rooms, pool to cool off in.

The surrounding landscape could do with a bit of work.

Size of room

Complex is old and tired needs painting and refurbishment let alone basic maintenance. Doorway from bedroom to bathroom had saturated carpet. Inside bathroom cupboards was a rolled up dirty and used towel along with two dirty saucers and glasses. Grounds require heavy maintenance. Because of state of motel it is over priced.

Comfortable room of good size

Immediate vicinity outside the room was untidy, grass unmowed playground overgrown, kegs and old chairs stacked in vicinity needs a good tidy up. Unknown persons were sneaking around our room late at night and let off a fire extinguisher in the car park which covered our Porsche in white powder which stuck to the car due to small rain shower overnight, very disappointing end to what could have been an enjoyable stay

Unfortunately this is NOTHING like its marketed image on any platform. Very disappointing and a little disturbing that they are allowed to continue to advertise this property given its run down state. Needs so much attention i font know where to start. Have photographs of the "games room" whrn put up next to the stock photos used on the socials and website is just plain misleading. Was possibly a once loved and cared for property but that is definitely no longer the case.

Sanctuary House Resort Motel was a beautiful getaway for my family for the year end. It’s close proximity to the Healesville sanctuary and public transport made it the perfect spot for us

Wouldn’t stay again.

The facilities are very minimal and there were no staff at check-in, with a phone number provided that called out. The cleanliness of the room was minimal and the pool was on the greener side so we passed (which was our main reason for booking at the Sanctuary House, so that was disappointing).

Was clean and in a beautiful area

It has a bit of an old smell in the rooms

The room was basic but exceptionally clean and comfortable. The hotel is a bit out of town, close to the zoo but for the price the short drive is worth it.

Absolutely nothing, it’s clean in a lovely setting, great value for money.

The Pool was accessible till 8 pmRoom was clean Location is very close 5 mins to Reserve, 5 mins to Coles and 7-10 mins to all nearby restaurants

The room was smaller than we thought. The furniture outside wasn't neat. However over all a good stay

The location in the bush was lovely.

Bed was extremely uncomfortable, and it was overpriced for what it was.
