Pros +
- I’ve stayed at many caravan parks across Australia, but this one truly stands out as one of the best.Everything is spotless — the park itself, the bathrooms, and the showers are all exceptionally clean. I especially loved the quality of the linens. The cabins are well-maintained, and it’s fantastic that some of them are pet-friendly. The lake views are absolutely breathtaking, and the fresh air is incredible.
- I hired the cabin to stay with my niece who was visiting. However as I was unwell, she stayed there alone. I visited her and thought the cabin was excellent. She thoroughly enjoyed it. Am not sure if she had breakfast as I know she had taken food with her.
- Close to the lake, nice staff
Cons -
- There is nothing that could be done better
- Bedroom quite small but everything is good enough
- The toilets for the area where the tents were were quite smelly. It was a hot weekend ,I know, but toilets shouldn't smell like that even if it's hot.

We loved the weekend at Sambell Caravan Park. We stayed in a cabin and it was a great idea for the hot weather those days. The cabin was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The staff very helpful and friendly. Liked the enclosed verandah where we could let our dog go out.So happy that the park is pet friendly. Loved the walks around the lake ,the sunset.I believe the place looks amazing in autumn when the trees change colour. We'll come to see how it looks then. The town was beautiful. Did great shopping for clothes and jewellery you don't find in the city.It was a great weekend. We'll be back soon.

We love the location of Lake Sambell. Staff are friendly and the kids enjoy scootering around the park. We booked the deluxe two bedroom cabin. I do think it's starting to look dated. We have stayed in a Villa before and will probably book that next time.
The cabin is in a good location but it's quite dated now
Shaded
Crowded and busy with kids taking over
Liked everything! Amazing location right next to the lake. Cabin is great and so happy as i can bring my dog. Even a secure front porch my dog can be with me. Nothing not to like. So many beds. Kitchen has all you need. TV. Great nightly price. Will definitely return.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was lovely with great activities for the kids. Position on the lake is beautiful despite no swim access from the park itself, only short 5min walk to the public "beach" swimming area. Cabins were clean and well appointed. Slightly disappointed that some activities weren't available on public holidays (Christmas Day) but staff let us know in advance so we could make other plans. A reasonable walk into Beechworth but the 2km walk around the lake is a must.
Perfect location lovely and peaceful. I stayed in a budget cabin but it had everything you needed. cooking facilities, a good sized fridge and a comfy bed. Lovely full sized verandah to sit on and relax. Everything was great.
Slightly bigger TV would have been nice, but my eyes aren't the best!!!!
The location, the walks around the lake, and having our family stay in the park also
Location, facilities, comfort , grounds and staff. We stayed in Cabin 4 for three nights.
The inconsiderate noisy idiots around a fire pit we had to try to shut up one night approaching midnight(when shut up time was 10pm). Staff were on the scene pretty quickly after other guests complained.
Hooks on back of bathroom door. Good cooking utensils and glass for microwave.
No curtain between living area and master bedroom so difficult for one person to sleep while other one watching TV etcNo comfy chair in lounge
The view, the quiet, handy to town, the lovely walk around the lake
Best ever camping/ caravan/ cabin park!Shower screens in all showers with a mop bucket to clean the floor for the next user…so simple and a cure for the annoyance of getting dressed after the shower in a wet seat area where water overspray has wet everything including footwear
Leaving!
The friendly staff and location.
Only a double bed and tiny television and no comfortable lounge chairs.
We liked the view from the cabins, it was stunning looking over the lake. The cabins were also spacious and it was a great place for kids with a playground and mini golf which was a hit!
The cost of the fire was quite expensive to hire.
We had 5 nights at your park it was a lovely relaxing week away, beautiful scenery and clean neat park i was impressed! Conveniently close to the town centre and staff were approachable and friendly. We will stay again
I found our cabin quite pricey considering it wasn't holiday or long weekend dates in Vic
Located right on the lake- was perfect for walking, cycling and canoeing. Very close to the Indigo epic trail and Murray to Mountains Rail trail.
2 bedroom cabin could be slightly bigger in the living area or at least have a 2+2 couch instead of just a 3 seater (given it sleeps 4 people)
Loved the the feel of the place, the scenery, the play areas and the beautiful lake.
No breakfast, the location was perfect. Close but not too close to the township.
