Pros +
- Friendly and Helpful Staff, Clean Accommodation
- A heritage property repurposed and surprisingly cool and well insulated separate sitting room and comfortable bed. Excellent friendly staff
- Front of house staff, very friendly and helpful. Although old property but is what you expect for what it is. Beds were clean.
Cons -
- The bathroom floor was a little soft needed repair perhaps
- Cleaning/Maintenance staff let down the whole hotel. 1. Unflushed toilet paper in the bowl despite the paper seal over the toilet seat.2. Shaving kit box with nothing inside.3. 2x shower cap kit with a used shower cap in one of them.4. There was no tissue box in the room.5. There were no "Make up room/Do not disturb" card in the room.6. For the whole night, there were some type of washing machine noise that goes on 24/77. No air con other than a fan8. TV and light not plugged in.9. TV reception very poor. Only has ABC, SBS and radio station. Even then at time it'll just go statickie and you can't watch anything.
- No complaints. Love everything about it.

This was the second time that my dad and I stayed here. I come up for Asylum Fest. The property’s location is amazing. Its comfy and the owners so friendly. We had everything we needed. It was clean and we have already booked for next year.
No complaints. Love everything about it.
Was a huge room with potential to be awesome with big deep spa bath
Definitely need to fire the cleaners.Hairs in the bath tub Old food still in the fridge from previous peopleIf we hadn't of arrived so late would definitely have been asking for another room .I really wanted a lovely spa bath after a week skiing so basically had to clean it myself!!Not acceptable really
A convenient location with views over Beechworth and plenty of parking. The room was well equipped for self-catering.
The room in mid-winter was very cold because the air-conditioning did not work. After we raised this we were given a small electric heater that was inadequate for the room size. There was only one bath towel for two people, which we didn't discover until too late (ie stepping out of the shower!). We could clearly hear conversations in the room next door. The only thing 'art deco' about the property were the signs near the lifts, and the furniture in the lounge area at the lifts on each floor.
The staff is friendly. It is a historical building and a bit old but it is comfortable to stay here.
Wifi thingy. Not all rooms got wifi connected. We booked 4 rooms n only 1 room had internet connection. And not all room had microwave.
Great little motel. Very comfortable however rooms not very sound proof due to their age and original design.
Quirky for sure.
Room was not clean enough. Can tell the cleaners do the very minimum. Caretakers clearly have a domestic violence problem. Constant fighting yelling swearing at night and in the morning. If u book here hopefully you don’t get a room near them.
Rooms were lovely, interesting and much bigger than expected. Beautiful setting at the top of the hill ?
Room was clean - bedding/towels but floors needed a good hoovering.......Bed was comfortableBathroom was clean with free toiletries.Central location to town, quiet areaDeano was lovely and friendly and could not do enough for you.
So the information on the website states refurbished art deco premises....WHEN...if this is refurbished, I will eat my hat. When I got there room I booked was unavailable ???? - Deluxe room with Spa Bath, was put into a luxury room - not sure on that either.Place needs a lot of maintenance - The paint is coming off the walls, wall heater was hanging off, curtain was also hanging off in room 308. no lights on ceiling these are on top and behind the wardrobe, making the rooms dark and dingy.Wardrobes are from the stone ages along with the table and old school type wooden chair. This was the list of facilities below????? - but in room, we never saw no Slippers / No radio / no alarm clock / no air conditioning.Private bathroom, Garden view, Free toiletries, Air conditioning, Toilet, Sofa, Bath or shower, Towels, Linen, Desk, Seating Area, TV, Slippers, Refrigerator, Ironing facilities, Tea/Coffee maker, Iron, Radio, Spa bath, Heating, Flat-screen TV, Hairdryer, Fan, Carpeted, Electric kettle, Alarm clock, Wardrobe or closet, Toaster, Dining table, Toilet paperThe OWNER of this place needs a reality check as this place need a huge overhaul and needs a lot more staff than 2 people to run this building to the standard of 3 star (self reported)
Bed was comfortable, quite spacious.
Carpets were super dirty all along the hotel including the room. Not only stains but dry grass, something that looked like cat or dog hair everywhere, among other small stuff. One of the towels was all stained and another one had also a stain. The hotel seems to not be looked after. The cleaners' trolleys were left in the corridor, cleaners' room with a mess inside left with the door opened. We couldn't open the blinds of the main area because they were broken (didn't try the other ones). There are movement sensors (hopefully) in the toilet which made me feel very uncomfortable as I wasn't sure what it was. First thought was "a cam in the toilet??".The reception computer was left unattended with the session opened which is a security issue as guests information is there. I booked the hotel because it looked nice on the pictures and the overall guests resting was good. Please don't trust them.
Rooms were pretty spacious. Receptionist was very quirky and wanted to ensure people felt welcomed and enjoyed their stay.
No clean towels available when we arrived. Rooms were not that clean - I didn't use the bathroom while we stayed there. The entire place felt very eerie, it felt safe but the whole feeling of the place was unusual. But, you get what you pay for.
Lovely location
The place was run down, tiny TV, no internet. Decorated like it was 1985, no air con.
Very nice location with some history. Deano, the Manager is very lovely.

Greeting by enthusiastic Deano to the Accom. Beautiful gardens, excellent restaurant next door, easy to walk to. Very clean bed linen, towels, comfortable bed. Excellent TV reception. Easy parking. Lovely that there’s an attempt to maintain the originality of the Art Deco building. Would recommend Suite 8.
Need to drive to the town. Staff proud of the establishment, but it’s far too huge a job to maintain the building, additional staff required to make the building have its full potential, it’s a rough gem.
Very poor
I believe we were provided with a Queen Suite rather than the booked Deluxe Queen Suite. The room was small and had not been properly cleaned for some time. The carpet was dirty and the hard furniture (table and bedside tables) needed cleaning before we were happy to use them. The Lino floor in the bathroom was also dirty as was the basin. The provided cups were stained and appeared to have been simply rinsed rather than properly washed. The wine glasses were also poorly cleaned. A spare blanket was provided but had been tossed in a bundle in the bottom of the wardrobe. Overall, a very unsatisfactory presentation and I would never recommend this property.
The location, comfy pillows and nice hot shower with good pressure
The toilet didn’t flush properly, and the Queen bed sloped on the left which was uncomfortable. Had to wait a while to check in too.
The position.
Rooms were not made up. No towels available so used hand towels for showering. Very disorganised. No apparently system for checkin or room allocation. Lots of dust.
