Holbrook Hotel

What I like most about this hotel is how clean it is.

Good location.

Room was clean and comfortable, great dinner at the pub. Room decor was excellent as was the bathroom.

our only window opened onto the back of the main bar downstairs and there was a slight smell from drain in our shower. We had two rooms and the other one was on the other side of the hotel and was great.

I stayed in Room 1 - lovely large bed/bedroom and ensuite. Two large windows overlooking the bar area. Would benefit from double glazing to reduce noise transfer into room.

Freshly renovated to a good standard. Comfy bed and large modern bathroom with traditional fittings. Elevator.

The room window looked straight down to the bar area so a bit noisy from below.

Very Nice accomodation very clean and beds comfortable. Would have liked a room with a view not looking at roofs ueverthing good accept the no view

The room has been stylishly & very well refurbished with good quality bedding, linen and towels. It was spotlessly clean for our arrival. The bathroom was very spacious and water pressure good. There was plenty of parking near the entry with lift and in room 3 it was very quiet with no noise from the bar area.

The room itself was very small with the bed, side tables and 1 chair occupying almost all of the floor space. There was no bench/desk/table to sit at and no room to add such or another chair which we would have liked given that the room was for 2 people.

Clean and fresh

No sound proofing. Noise from the bar below is loud and kept us awake.

We left early so didn’t go to restaurant. We would have liked a toaster to make own breakfast.

Terrible that we were unable to stay

It is very disappointing that the Holbrook Hotel rents out rooms which suffer from noise problem due to the operation of roaring generators. We were unable to stay in the room and had to book another hotel in the town straight after our check-in. The hotel manager did not attend to to our messages when we contacted them about the issue. When we finally manage to speak to one of their staff the following day, we were told that the noise problem is indeed 'officially' identified in their policy document and that it is the customers' responsibility to 'know' this. On booking.com, this noise problem was not indicated anywhere on the main site. The hotel breached transparency, refused to process refund, and put us into a very difficult situation as we had to spend a substantial part of our night looking for another accomodation on a public holiday. What a shame.

Perfect stop over for a Melb- Syd drive. Very clean and comfortable rooms- the pub has great food.

Unfortunately the Hotel didn’t communicate a change in check in hours on Good Friday, which meant a two- hour wait to check in. No one answered phones, and everything was locked up. no acknowledgement or apologies either.

The lack of knowledge around vegetarian and vegan food needs attention

i twice ordered a vegetarian pizza and was twice given bacon on the pizza. The staff member was embarrassed but this is just not good enough

Room was gorgeous and so clean. Beds were really comfortable, had a great night sleep. Staff were so lovely to deal with

Was lovely room, comfortable beds and excellent bathroom. Added bonus was restaurant downstairs- food was fabulous.

Some sort of trolley was brought up in the lift and went up and down the hallway at 7.00am. It was extremely noisy.

Well renovated traditional hotel, comfortable room, good restaurant/cafe for both dinner and breakfast. Would stay again.

Seemed most rooms were booked by a "hens" group who all wanted to talk incessantly in the corridors and with their room doors open, both at night and in the morning. Had to ask them to keep it down at night. The renovation is very good but some details need attention, toilet roll holder falling off wall, cabinet under sink quite scuffed, scaled floor in shower. Should be easy things to stay on top of and would make a big difference.

Rooms have been renovated and are clean and quite spacious with large walk-in shower.Cafe attached had excellent meals well priced and presented well with excellent service.

The Beef Bourginon (sp) was delicious, but no Tiramisu left.

The single beds were not comfortable.
