The Commodore

Easy access to pretty much everything. Friendly staff at the reception very lovely and helpful. The room we stayed is perfect for a family of 5 very spacious.

Friendly staff, location, close to attractions, clean and tidy room. Also relatively quiet considering the motel is close to the city centre.

The bed was uncomfortable.The wifi didn't work in our room.This room was extremely noisy.(traffic noise)

TV could not be squivelled so that it was easily visible from the bed.There was no shelf for toiletry bags in the bathroom, which was very small.Food and drinks in the dining room are very expensive.

Walls are thin and my room was next to a family. The children were having a lot of fun and excitement in their room, it would have been nicer for them across the road at the well established park.

The wifi was almost non existent, if you needed to do anything work related don’t bother using the hotel internet, just use your own hotspot

The room was not very clean. Kitchen lacked equipment - 1 plate 1 cup and saucer Taps in bathroom and kitchen were stiff and hard to control temperature - the water was scalding hot and dangerous. Windows dirty. Bathroom very small. Auto light in bathroom annoying.

Close to everything for my wandering son..And not far from mums house..If i come back to mt Gambier I will be staying here again..Excellent location for me and very quiet&adorable& Very clean..5 stars

Nothing not to like about hear

We stayed in the 9 Fairlie Street property attached to the Commodore.Beautiful bathrooms with baths. Perfect for little ones. Good sized bedrooms. Comfy beds. Big kitchen. Great washer and dryer downstairs in laundry.

I can understand why, but it still doesn’t justify how dirty some areas of the house were - I get that when you’re used to cleaning motel rooms, that you’re mostly cleaning bedroom and bathrooms…but you’re renting out a house. So, the kitchen should be clean. The smell from the oven was repulsive and we couldn’t use it. There was thick dust over the timber runner along staircase down to the laundry and garage, which was covered in cobwebs and spiders. The previous visitors had left cans all over the back yard and around the verandah, and there were bits of rubbish throughout the backyard. For a booking of 9 people, we only had 3 glasses and two mugs, and a couple of bowls and plates - so we had to call to get more crockery. The staff were amazing, but it should have been done to begin with. All glasses that were in the cupboard were filthy. There wasn’t an outside line - an we had to clean the one in the garage before we could use it.
