The Avenue Motel has been our motel of choice in Palmerston North on visits spanning probably 15-20 years and it will continue to be that way. Absolute ace in terms of proximity to the shopping centre and mall. With the motel being tucked away down a long driveway the units are surprisingly quiet - a real bonus for Palmerston North. As commented by one or two others, some of the furniture is beginning to show its age but that doesn't detract from overall comfort.

The only disappointment was that the microwave in our unit needs to be dumped. At some stage someone has burnt a meal in it and the overflow has scorched into the frame of the body. We wouldn't use it. In all, one small niggle after 15-20 years of excellent experiences with the same motel is not bad and easily fixable.

Great location, nice and clean.

Decor is very dated, particularly the bathrooms.

Very good value for the priced,,well situated,short walk to the Square,Pak n Save and eateries

Parking can be a bit of a problem depending on the unit but the visitors park can be utilised,as I did

I think it can be rated as average to above average on all categories. Location is excellent, though! Nothing was bad, I the motel staff was great. I visit the city every year and I do enjoy staying at the motel.

Facilities are getting old to the point where it's clearly visible and they need to be upgraded as soon as the management is able. It's just undefortunate that I didn't get the room I liked and requested. Though the room I got instead was bigger, the bedroom was seperate from livingroom where the heatpump is, the bedroom got cold easily.

Great layout.

NO HOT WATER was a rough start to the day, which was a work day for me.

I found our unit to be slightly dated in that the fittings & fixtures are probably original, but it had fresh decor, was very comfortable and everything worked well. The shower was awesome. Be very careful with elderly or very young as the hot water takes a while to arrive, but once it does it is very hot at over 60 degrees!

Loved the Private spa in our room. Was nice after a long day of watching sports. Lounge was nice and big so the kids had space with out us feeling like we were on top of each other. Good size rooms and beds were comfy

Good location and nice staff

No working ventilation in the bath room so after each shower the bathroom ceiling was dripping water and soaking the floor. Not pleasant as it was too cold to have the window open.

The location was great, close to all shops and restaurants.The customer service was friendly, room service at anytime when needed.Have extra towels

Need an extra bathroom towel when using spa pools to avoid floor getting too wet?

Handy location close to town, not much road noise as hotel is set back from the street behind another building.Bed was comfortable and it was a nice touch to have Netflix on the Smart TV. Lounge area was clean and had obviously been modernised.

The bathroom was quite old and the shower definitely looked like it had seen better days. The noise from what I think was the shower plumbing of other units was quite loud, which was a nuisance as this was quite late at night.The general outlook of the motel looks a bit tired and forgotten as it is behind what I think used to be another motel down a narrow drive with little signage.

Beautifully clean as alway and awesome staff. Interior good just start to use an update.

A bit dated. Every time I turned on the bathroom light, the noise of the fan was quite loud.Bathroom a bit grotty although a good shower. Toilet holder broken, hole in the wall behind the door, A couple of gouge marks in the shower. Conditioner bottle was empty.The parking is very tight. I couldn't get out this morning because an SUV angle parked on the other side and I couldn't get past it. Had to maneuver my way out and leave the way I came in.

Clean facilities with friendly staff. Parking was a little tight and bathrooms were a little dated and could do with updating however everything was immaculately clean which made this ok and thought value for money was great.

Quiet location but still close to restaurants & shops.
