Pros +
- The room was a good size. Staff were really nice. Food was good (1 meal) and well priced.
- The staff were very friendly. Yes its an older hotel but the rooms were large and clean. Bed was comfortable. Location is excellent, walkable to restaurants and town center. We would definitely stay again.
- The location is good and easy to find. The parking lot has pretty many parking spaces. The elevator is very vantage but very interesting to experience. The price is good though.
Cons -
- Bathroom was a bit tired. Floor badly in need of resurfacing.
- Its close to a train line so does get noisy during the night. With train I think that go down to the port. Our room was at the front of the hotel so we heard it alot.
- It’s a hotel remodeled by an old building so there are some very nice detailed like the beautiful ceiling and the elevator. However, it smells like onions in both hallway and the room. The light is very dim and the hallway design is a bit creepy with the big lady portraits showing room numbers... The bathroom is clear but there is mold in the corners. The queen size bed is made by two single bed with different density, in one of which extremely not supportive.

Staff in the hotel were very friendly and informative. Large rooms with space to move around and store your suitcases Close to downtown for easy access to any amenities Hotel is an old building with wear and tear however, price is fair
A bit of a nit pick, the toilet did have a smell. Not a sewage or terrible smell by any means, only a musty smell.
The staff were amazing. Reception were so friendly and such a pleasure, bar and restaurant staff were great and made you feel welcome
Great location, lovely, spacious refurbished...
The lift was very old and small. Still worked but some people would worry about that. Didnt worry us though, we could use the stairs.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a great history with the UK Royal family and we were fortunate to stay in the same room as the queen. The room was spacious and had good facilities. The bar/restaurant had a good selection of meals.
The room decor was a little tired and could be a huge selling point if decorated appropriate to it's history.
Location. Lovely old hotel but rooms refurbished and very comfortable. Staff were really helpful. Restaurant really good too. Plus parking just over the road
Very clean and good location
Would be better if the toothbrush and toothpaste were supplied, because you would expect these when going to a hotel.
The bathroom was big
Very small room, old furnitures
Great location and really good room.
Seriously let down with the very sub standard ammenities provided. Cheap & nasty sachets of soap & shampoo etc, no tissues and cheap single ply loo paper. Happy to pay $5.00 extra and would have been a great experience.
Clean, tidy and very comfortable
It was all fine
I love the hotel the huge rooms amazing beds .cool bar great pork roast tea .nice friendly guys working .i keep coming back
Nothing 100 % great overngt stay
Room was clean and tidy - over all it was an older room and somewhat tired however clean and as tidy as the staff could manage
bed was pretty uncomfortable, TV did not work. Paint was chippedHallways are dark carpet old and pretty past their best
Easy to find, lovely staff, very clean and tidy
Lovely room. Spacious. Nice couches.
Staff could not have been more helpful. My husband left behind his toiletries bag and they got it sorted right away! Comfy rooms, very clean and spacious. Easy walking distance to cafés and shops!
Big comfy bed.
Small shower & shower nozzle burst. Bar & restaurant not open.
The bed is comfy, interior is classic
No wardrobe & the elevator is not user friendly
Good access to town
Shower was very weak.Unfortunately we were advised before we arrived there was no catering facilities but they could provided a breakfast if we ordered the night before takeaway style..
