    Pros +

    • The staff was friendly. Bed was comfy and appreciated the tiny kitchenette!
    • The renovated room was comfortable, the location was convenient, and having dinner downstairs at the bistro was simple and hassle-free. Perfect for families.
    • Staff were amazing! They let us put our motorcycles in the shed, and were happy to let us in and out as needed. It was never any bother. We loved the room, overlooking the street below, was always something happening.

    Cons -

    • The food was terrible. The lamb was mainly fat and the vegetables were cold and watery.
    • It was probably our ad, but the hotel had a large gaming center and was more catered to families with kids. No elevator and our windows were frosted over which made our room seem dark.
    • Nothing major to fault, but if I had to mention one thing, it’s that the parking isn’t directly connected to the hotel.

Comfortable, well appointed rooms. Good food at their bistro. Well located, close to town centre, river and parks.

Cigarette butt under vanity on arrival and still there four days later. Had to contact management to replenish empty shower gel dispenser. Faeces under toilet seat lid on arrival despite the cleaner's hygiene wrap over the top.

Everything worked. Clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff. Good value for ferry connection.

    10DAVIDPosted on: 12-3-2025

Clean and comfortable stay for the first night off or night before the Spirit of Tasmania ferry.

Central location, easy to find. Very well looked after establishment. Clean, welcoming. Great staff. The Resturant was great

No lift to top floor. The Resturant noise came up to our room, however it didn’t go all night.

Was further away from ferry terminal than I thought as I arrived at night and being my first time did nmot realise that it was not close. Car park was open space in shared carpark at back of hotel. Accommodation wasGood hotel, good staff on first floor which meant stairs however, they did advise me when booking that there stairs

    Lean and recently renovated

There was an occasional pumping sound coming from the air conditioner which woke us up many times at night. It went on for about 8 seconds and then stopped for about 15 mins.

Location suited me but that was no accident, I know Ulverstone quite well. Price was cheap enough but definitely choose the cheapest rate you can find, as had I paid what their website was charging (which they promoted as being cheapest with the most perks but was actually approximately twice what I paid) I'd have been hell disappointed. Even so, it didn't live up to my modest cheapskate expectations, and they were pretty low lol. Check in was terrible, first girl took far too long to answer my bell, so long that another lady was waiting as well and getting annoyed (she stays there often but was rapidly reconsidering lol). When I finally got served the second lady wasn't even acknowledged. If you could say I got served. Make sure you have ID, I booked on Booking.Com partly because I've never needed it and didn't have it on me. Got told I couldn't check in. And that the reason for the policy is that the cops often need it.Say WHAT? It's such a dodgy hotel that the cops get called to rooms so often they need ID of people staying? It's not like Ulverstone is an unsafe town (I go there often). Wowsers. Makes me not want to stay. First rude girl went to get the manager while I tried to find ID in my phone... second lady was still waiting despite me moving to the side. Manager was skilled at dealing with complaints (obviously they get them often) but as someone who works in hospitality it didn't fool me. I was polite, made the excuse I'd already eaten when she tried to push counter meals on me (hell no you got enough of my money) then went to my room... which was far too dirty even for the reasonable price I paid. See photos. Probably most people wouldn't notice as it was a nice, modern, newish room... but the hair on the bed was the first thing I noticed.

    Peace and quiet. Cleanliness.friendly staff.

Hard to pick something but if I have to say something it would only be ....I had to ring the reception bell 4 or 5 times before anyone attended. Spoke to a young girl in the dining area, She said they were busy.

    10SharonPosted on: 4-13-2025

Staff were super helpful, we got a free upgrade and the area was close to everything
