    Pros +

    • Very good and friendly
    • - Great location - Comfy bed- Shared use kitchen- Nice staff- Washing machine
    • Good cheap location

    Cons -

    • - Dark room- Very weak lights, even in the bathroom, almost impossible to do makeup- Lack of chairs (got one tree stump for sitting)- Sound insulation with other rooms (including the door) and to the street- There's a night club next door and people are very loud on the street, you can hear the music too, making almost impossible to sleep. You need to use earplugs, otherwise your holiday is ruined
    • Room are simple but nothing really
    • The room was too hot as the shower was inside the room and the window was very small, the fan helped a bit.

The location was super, near to cafe places, beach and supermarket and the bus station. Parking is available if needed near by.

The room was too hot as the shower was inside the room and the window was very small, the fan helped a bit.

I absolutely loved my stay! The room was very cozy and the atmosphere in the entire place felt warm and welcoming. The staff were kind, responsive, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The location was incredibly convenient — just a 5-minute walk to the ocean! One of the most pleasant surprises was a little corner on the ground floor where guests could borrow things for free: beach towels, sunscreen, after-sun lotion, hiking gear, a beach umbrella, and even surfboards. It was such a thoughtful touch. The kitchen was also fantastic — very well equipped with everything you could possibly need: plenty of pots, pans, utensils, and even a great selection of spices for cooking.

The only minor downside was that the building itself felt a bit old and there were some small imperfections in the room, but nothing that really affected our stay. Also, there’s a nightclub next to the hostel that plays music at night — it didn’t bother us, but for light sleepers it might be a bit noisy.

This is a cute place with a nice design in the center of Las Palmas, very close to the beach. The bed was comfortable, and the rooms and communal spaces are of great taste and design. There is also a nice terrace where I could cook and wash my clothes, which is a great addition. The receptionist is a pure sweetheart.

I had to revise my review after my second stay here. First time I came out with strange bites on my skin, which took a while to heal. During my second stay, I clearly saw BED BUGS on my pillow, and the manager offered me a suite as an excuse without any compensation. I then saw that more ppl encountered the same problem here and seems the property doesnt bother.

I do like the location of the place and the concept itself. Every room has everything you need+ a TV There is also a nice rooftop space with cooking option and you can use the washing machine which is a big plus.

Its my second stay here. First time I moved out in a different place and found some strange bites on my skin. I thought those were mosquitos so I didnt care much although those bites were healing for quite a while. This time I stayed longer and the day before leaving I clearly saw bed bugs on my pillows and found my back totally bitten. The bites are still being cured, I had to rewise my clothes and baggages. I also showed the pictures to the manager and she gave me a suite for my last night stay as an excuse. I then read the reviews here and on google maps which mention the same problem and a reply from the manager that the bugs may come from anywhere else. Seems the problem has been there for a while so I guess the specific measurements should be implemented. Doing a proper desinsection and bying a dryer for linen may solve the problem. Hope that helps.

I can’t begin to explain the compassion cactus host had. I was stuck in the airport for 20 hours during the national power outage and not only did they take care of the night I missed, they offered an extra night. The room was beautiful and clean. Check in was simple as can be. The location is perfection and steps to the water and the amount of character this place has is amazing. I would recommend to anyone. Thank you cactus host. You are amazing! I hope to stay again.

    It was great. Nothing bad.

The room had everything we needed: all the essentials were there, and the bed was super comfortable. The terrace was perfect for relaxing, and it was well equipped with a drying rack and a small kitchenette for cooking. A really cozy and functional stay!

This isn’t a problem with the property itself, but something to keep in mind about Las Palmas: parking is a nightmare. If you're renting a car, you’ll likely have to pay for a spot in a nearby garage, which can be chaotic and not very cheap. It would have been really helpful to be informed about this in advance. Again, not the host’s fault, just a heads-up for future guests.

I like the decoration and the good location

The cleanliness could be improved, there's visible dust and some insects in the corners. Additionally, the hotel is a bit noisy

    Bed Bugs

Cactus House is honestly a beautiful building. The rooms are so calm and the staff so friendly. I really regret having to post this but since staying here my skin has been destroyed by beg bugs. I vividly remember seeing them wash their sheets in house and hanging the sheets on the terrace. In a property like this, the sheets have to be dried at temperatures that kill all stages of the bug beg life cycle. This should have been my first warning sign. I deeply regret staying here. It has cost me a fortune in consequences. When I asked for a refund and told them about my concerns, they viewed my messages but refused to reply despite giving them notice that I would post here and follow up with insurance etc. I gave the property plenty of time to counter with evidence that my claims regarding bed bugs in their property were untrue. I don't want anyone to go through what I've gone through. I ended up in a private client to confirm the bed bug bites and get treatment. I had to buy a new suitcase as a precaution etc.

My family stayed here last week, we were in Las Palmas for my nephews wedding and we had the best time!...Suites are lovely and well worth the money. If I'm honest one of the double rooms on ground floor was a bit small but we managed. Staff were very friendly and the rooms were very clean. The kitchens were well stocked and the rooftop area was lovely for us all to be together Xx

The style of the room and the closeness to the beach were really good. Also easy check in instructions.

It was really noisy at night and the staff was not really attentive and could not communicate in English. Also, we would have preferred to stay close to the Old Town.

Very nice place with clever details in the rooms and other areas. Close to beach and busstop.

    3Butterfly1308Posted on: 3-20-2025

The staff were nice and the location ( I just know the area)

Rooms are 6-7 square metres..Walls of carton, you will hear everything from everyone around, especially at nighttime. No security control, random people may come in at night.

    4Butterfly1308Posted on: 3-20-2025

Nice receptionist .Overall quite a fun place for a young one.

It's just a hostel with all facilities outside of rooms and other consequences.Very misleading room description on the web.! Rooms are totally not equal in anything .

    7LaurensPosted on: 3-11-2025

Room was really nice in a lovely theme.Bed was good and toilet and shower were clean.Really accessible with the online check -in.

Its really difficult to park on location.Recently a night club opened next door. With our room facing the street we couldn't really sleep until after 4.00 am. It's not open every day so maybe check the opening hours

    7PatrycjaPosted on: 3-10-2025

It was a good location and self check in was easy. The beds were comfortable and had normal duvet.

I didn’t realise this but the suite 5 bathroom/toilet doesn’t have any doors. It’s just separated by a bamboo wall. If you’re not comfortable going to toilet at front of your partner, maybe try somewhere else. There was no safe in the property for valuable items. There was no room cleaning in between the days - this is a problem due to the toilet paper. The people looking after the property are not fast at responding in WhatsApp or booking.com

    7ElaPosted on: 2-21-2025

It has a perfect location very close to the beach, bus station, and all the restaurants. The place is cozy and tidy. Unfortunately our room (economy) was really too small, and the window faces only a small internal patio.

Nice convivial atmosphere, great location, good self catering facilities and allocated fridge space
