    Pros +

    • The location is very good.
    • Cody place on a nice square downtown old city. Good bed, great shower. Good simple breakfast. Coffee, tea, milk, juice and bread.
    • They booked us in wrong, part of the country. Would make no concession. Basically stole our money. Not sure what this hotel is doing under the Camino ninja site. They should be removed from Camino site.

    Cons -

    • The bed uncomfortable, no lift. I find it too expensive for such a basic appartment.
    • Missing a curtain at the window woke me quite early because of the light.
    • There was nothing to like, they looked us in different part of the town had nothing to do with Camino and won't make any conssion. Will be filling fraud claim against hotel Madrid in canary island. I'll give them less than 0.

Great location. For the money you get a respective value.

Not enough possibilities to deposit items necessary to use in the bathroom.Quite loud at night when other guests return

Location perfect for Teatro Perez Galdoz and the historical connection with General Franco

Pillows Pillows Pillows not enough and too soft

Excellent location - great atmosphere to have busy restaurant below room balcony as long as you are happy with noise late into the night (1.00am one evening)

The hotel could do with a deep clean and a bit of maintenance and TLC. Not a place to go if you want comfort. Bit of the feel of a hostel to it .

    Room and bathroom were spacious.

Floor was uneven, also there was an inpleasant sewage smell coming from the sink in the bathroom.

Good location Wonderful staff. Caring friendly and helpful.

No hospitality tray. Got given a flask of hot water. No access to refreshment. Grimy bathrooms full of mould. Utility trays tiny. Insufficient room for cosmetics and toiletries. No chair. Round metal table used for bedside. Things kept falling off. Only 2 pillows. Asked for extra blanket. Veggie option limited despite informing the hotel. No hot breakfast. Stale rolls and bread.

I thought booked a room overlooking the plaza with a balcony. Later I wrote directly to Hotel Madrid to clarify that as a disabled (crippled) person I wanted a room the first floor preferably no. 3. On arrival I was told that I had a room on the second floor with an outside aspect but with no balcony. In the event I spent the first night in an interior room but found it too claustrophobic, so for the rest of my time I stayed in the unsatisfactory room on the second floor.Hotel Madrid should have had the courtesy to reply to my messages and had I known that I would not be getting what I expected I would have cancelled the booking and arranged alternative dates. Great location. Nice bars and restaurants nearby.

I loved the old charm of this hotel. I hope they don’t ever change. A small thing would be to have 2glasses in each bedroom.

Loved the location overlooking the square, (although dense foliage on outside tree somewhat blocked view it did provide privacy). We had the traditional outside room with balcony which I'm thankful for. Bed was so comfy and large bathroom. Would definitely return to the same room if back in Las Palmas

Breakfast was a very sparce continental and the room wasn't very welcoming.

reception staff good, location as well

not clean, website photos very misleading not a true representation. noise levels high due to overlooking square. glazing not sufficient. in need of a refurbishment. balcony area had cigarette stubs on balcony, doors did not lock on balcony properly. felt like a security risk. bathroom tiles dirty, water discoloured and smelt

Centrally located in a nice square with good restaurants close by. Very pleasant with good facilities and quiet.

Has no lift which may affect those who have difficulties with stairs.

The ONLY good thing about this "hotel" is the location. It's a lovely lively area and there's a beautiful building in the same square. We could walk to amenities and to the shopping area nearby. The hotel building looked good from the outside, but reality hit us pretty hard later on.

We checked in when there was still someone at reception, went to our room and, although it was disappointing at first sight compared to the pictures online, we didn't mind too much. The problem was when we came back from dinner: the towels were worn out, there was dust on the headboard and the pillows were tiny flat, but most importantly, there was NO HOT WATER to have a shower and NO BLANKET. It was January, so even if the weather in Las Palmas was really nice and mild during the day, we needed something to cover the bed at night. There was only a sheet and we could only contact the emergency number at that time because reception was closed. It was just a security guy on the phone and they told us they'd try to get in touch with the manager, but no luck. Therefore, this is NOT A HOTEL BY ANY STANDARDS. The bare minimum is hot water and warm bed, but none was covered. Never again! I raised a claim with Booking and the hotel wanted to refund me the night stay skipping the "Booking process", by bank transfer. Very dodgy and in the end they haven't replied to Booking's request (after over a month), although they seemed open to the refund directly to me at first. Very strange and I hope they get some inspections going because it's unacceptable behaviour. The morning after the cold night, the person at the reception didn't even look surprise and didn't offer much because there was no manager: shrug shoulders and off you go. Ridiculous

    Great location

Stayed here before 3 years ago, and to be honest it's in need of some care and attention. The rooms were not cleaned very well and smelt.Surely it doesn't cost that much to put tea/coffee making facilities in each room?!

Breakfast good but not enough staff. Not enough utensils. Running out of plates, cups, glasses. Location absolutely excellent. Atmosphere in square delightful.

The hotel is becoming popular and so is now understaffed.

Continental breakfast was ideal. Receptionist was really helpful in all that was expected. Wish I could have stayed longer. If I have come to gran canaria again I would make this hotel my first port of call

Very little could have better. Only thing that could have made this trip better would have been not to have my husband in hospital

Helpful and kind staff. Great location

Rooms need some upgrading and renovation. Basic

The administor is extrêmely friendly and pleasant. The location is 10 out of 10.

The description and the photos are complètely différent from réality. The room that is described as one with a window facing patio has NO window. The Room is dirty: dust is everywhere, the walls are covered with cracks, all surfaces are stained. I have serious doubts that the bed linen was changed after previous guests. The walls are thin- you can hear everything going on in all rooms around you. Not enough toiletries: there is hardly a tea spoon of shower gel per Person and one very small roll of toilet paper per Room. The Room smells like public toilet, has no fresh air and is inhabited by an army of mosquitos. All this makes it impossible to Sleep in it.
