Everything!!!! Stunning environment, very quiet and peaceful. They have the best spa and amenities. The sweetest and nicest staff ever, they really made our stay worthwhile

The cost

Our overall stay was wonderful! Staff was very friendly and helpful. The resort itself is beautiful. We loved how quiet it was. This resort is small, and we enjoyed not having a lot of people around.

There were a couple of things that we feel could be improved. The wifi is spotty and on our last day/night there, it did not work at all. Also, the beds are not as comfortable as we would have enjoyed. They are pretty firm. We just enjoy a softer bed. Last, I'm not a huge fan of having no tv in the room, but we made it. :) A radio or some sort of music would have been nice.

Facilities, friendly and kind staff, great food. It’s cleanliness, not packed. There’s a lot of spots to hangout Eg pool, bars and restaurants to accommodate all the guests. The location is stunning. I loved the sunset and swimming in the ocean.

The reception staff did not explain everything to us when we arrived. For example sunset boat cruise costs, how the boat transport from the hotel etc works and costs. There was a noisy guest next to our room.

Majlis is truly as advertised. The staff have excellent customer service. Our experience was exceptional from the point of meeting up at the airport to drop off.Value for money.

We experienced some missing items on the menu. With apologies from the staff for this.

I loved everything about the property. Our Junior Suite was amazing. The pool facilities were also great and the Mediterranean Bar was awesome.

Their Wi-Fi was unstable we went for almost two days without wifi connection

The rooms and grounds are stunning. So well thought through and executed in terms of design. Three different pools and restaurants with plenty of different options for food and drink at good prices.

For a very premium price… you don’t always get a very premium experience. Staff are keen to please but feel a bit under-trained and inexperienced which can make things feel uncoordinated at times. If you compare to the standard of service you get at other premium hotel brands it falls short.Gym facilities were poor for such a premium facility, no AC inside and machines not plugged in.

This resort is beautifully designed and maintained with such ellegant attention to detail in every aspect. Staff were so amazing and the services from the room stewards, waiters, barman, boat captains and dhow waiter was excellent. Truly loved the smiling faces of all the staff and always happy to be of assistance. The beach was tranquil over looking the village of shela in the distance, the sunset views at the infinity pool was amazing. Transfers and our tours were arrange perfectly. If you are a lover of art, interior design and architecture, this place will blow you away. Thank you Majlis for a truly memorable stay.

I really can't find a single fault or something that disappointed me or made me doubt my stay for even a second.

The location was beautiful, a beautiful oasis and the views were spectacular. I appreciated that staff were responsive over on WhatsApp, they were able to support with my questions and answered them in a timely manner. The staff members were equally lovely, and welcoming.

The location and facilities

I don’t like the food menu because it’s almost like same things for half board and full board. Also, I don’t like the food itself because it was tasteless. I ordered a Samosa. It was tasteless and I ordered a soup. It was tasteless as well. I think they need to improve the menu, and the food taste even the pizza wasn’t perfect even though the owner is Italian as I know!! Otherwise everything was fine and OK

Everything was wonderful, the design is very tasteful, the staff is super on it and friendly, the food is good, the rooms are comfortable, everything is working well. It is kid friendly, but the kids aren't disturbing the others by the way of the layout. We had a great time!

The only comment I would have is that the mattress was quite hard, but it wasn't a problem, it was fine!

The architecture is gorgeous with little details from ancient times. The staff was diligent and amazing in their care.

A nice resort, but definitely not a 4-5 star resort. A 3-star is more fitting to be honest. The spa could be located a bit away from the main pool and Pool Bar area. Meal plans were a bit confusing as the reception didn’t really do a good job at explaining it to us. A lot of things in our room could use some attention: mosquito net was ripped and coming off it’s rails, faucets are tarnished with build-up, bidet faucet was broken off. Our room also had a weird layout with a single bed in the corner of the room, could be an additional but it was awkward. The hotel activities offered at reception are lack-lustered and rigid—we couldn’t modify to our likings even when we were willing to pay more.

They should consider some free activities e.g. fitness, aerobics or yoga for adults and some activities especially for the younger ones.

Lovely property, with 3 pools and great AC in rooms. Beautiful decor, no details overlooked. Very nice general staff. A very nice resort for a short stay as one easily tires of lunch/dinner selection.

Ate in all 3 restaurants, and the same menu in all 3, with a limited selection except for breakfast buffet. Had drinks poolside, very poor quality cocktails, disappointing. F&B needs stronger management, has great potential.No Wi-Fi in rooms, nice spa/massage but has no AC.

Beautiful architecture and location on the beach of Manda Bay. Super friendly staff. Beautiful rooms and clean.

Food is expensive and sub par quality for a 5 star hotel - eg catch of the day is clearly not fresh. We got food poisoning multiple times and there was a cockroach in our bread basket. Ongoing works during the day to the pool made it hard to enjoy (including horrible smells of turpentine and noise). If you go for half board, this includes no drinks (including water). Laundry is ridiculously overpriced - almost $100 for two people over 4 days. When we flagged this we did not get a discount or anything upon check out.

The staff who was responsible for ground transfers was exceptional.

The customer service was the poorest I have ever had with totally unconcerned and unresponsive supervisors.
