Wonderful, large room with views right in Gion! Walking distance to amazing restaurants and shops- close to train stations.

Location in GION is excellent. Hotel is within walking distance of numerous sights and also close to the train station. Room was extremely comfortable and well set up,

Elegant large room on corner of building with river views and small balcony. Attractive lobby, great location.They serve lovely Japanese breakfast in your room. The price was reasonable on high side.

No amenities such as gym, pool, laundry, or common areas. This is unusual for a 4 star hotelThe TV has no English channels.

Exception hotel with great view. Room was very spacious and offered everything we might need. It’s definitely a hotel we would love to stay at again. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and the facilities are top-notch.

Excellent location, spacious rooms, comfortable bed

Be aware: if you stay on first floor, you will hear and feel the metro underground from 5am till 12midnight, and there is some street noise

The location was superb & the room was very large ( for Japan) for our family of 3 . Lovely peaceful setting near Gion district with easy walkability to all sites . Truly excellent .

The hotel location is amazing for getting to major Kyoto sights. The staff was very helpful. The area is not very noisy, and when there is noise, the sound proofing was very good! Would recommend to other couples!

Lovely room. Very nice bathroom. Not too far from Gion, Nishiki market and lots of places to eat.

The location is hard to beat. On the quiet Gion district but only a block from the river the peaceful location is amazing.

There is no breakfast here but a lovely bakery two blocks away the staff told us about. It was incredible! Our room was massive for Japan. It had everything one would need. My only gripe is that the ventilation wasn’t great for the bathroom and there is a rug as the flooring which made the entry to the room smell a bit musty.

The room had everything you would ever need and more. All the amenities were replenished every day. The size of the room was gigantic, which is rare for Japan. The room was cleaned spotless everyday. The location was stellar.

There is a smokers room in the lobby, that doesn’t seem to be properly ventilated. Hence, the lobby had a stale cigarette smell which was quite unpleasant

Everything is perfect. The location is great, very central, yet quiet. The room is large and perfectly equipped with everything necessary and even more! The staff is very nice.

The looks of the interiors outside of the room (corridors, escalators, etc.) could use a full refurbishment, it is rather old and doesn't do justice to the wonderful rooms. At first, when we arrived and before we got to the room, we believed we made the wrong choice :)

The location in the Gion district and across from the river was outstanding! The service and staff were exceptional and the room was large and comfortable! Great bed too! We enjoyed having our breakfast overlooking the river every morning. I highly recommend Hotel Alza Kyoto!
