M's Hotel Kyoto Station Taruya

Good location, well equipped, quiet place

The place was clean and facilities were great. The staff was very courteous and friendly. It was about a 15 minute walk to Kyoto station but there is a bus stop 5 minute walk closer by.

Not their fault but just a notice for other tourists, there is now a tourist accommodation tax for most hotels in Kyoto so just an FYI. This did not negatively impact us though as we expected it already but just letting others know!

The location is okay if you’re not opposed to lots of walking, there isn’t much near by and the main station is kind of a far walk, especially when you’re carrying all your luggage.

The room was very clean and the bathroom was nice, the bed on the other hand was extremely uncomfortable.

Walkable distance to train station, but not too close. Clean, basic toiletries.

Staff not communicative.

This hotel was pretty close to the main Kyoto Station and close to the main buses to go visit the main tourists spots of the city. Even though there is no breakfast, there convenient stores close by.

Be aware of scammers, I was contacted a few days before my stay about needing to make a payment otherwise my reservation would be cancelled.Also this hotel does not provide luggage storage, even though I was away for just a day, I had to leave my luggage in the Kyoto station lockers, not the end of the world, but just something to keep in mind.

Got sick and threw up all over the room and they gave me another room for free, easily the goats

Room is spacious

The location is far from Kyoto station. If you are planning to drag your luggage from kyoto station to the hotel, it is pretty tough. however you can easy catch buses to Gion, bamboo forest

Clean and comfortable room, with shower. AND the (shared) washing machine + drier

The environement is nice and surrounding is easy to access to the convenience shop (LAWSON, 7-11).The staff is helpful and friendly to help during we asked the directory of the tourists place.Check in and check out process is very smooth as using the system to do it.

Most staff are nice, the location is great with the nearby bus stops and CVS.

Most staff are nice, but some are supportive and some are not. I forgot my adapter and asked a guy where I could buy a new one. All of his responses were: I don't know. I'm not a full time staff so I don't know... Finally I got enthusiastic help from a staff member of a nearby CVS who also can't speak English but is willing to use the translator app to show me the shops and how to get there. Understood that M'S hotel is an economical hotel chain so they may want to cut some costs and hire some shift-time staff to save money, but if they call themselves a hotel chain, at least they need to ensure the basic standard of a hotel. Moreover, they won't clean your room within 3 days. Due to the sustainability, some hotels won't change your towels or clean your room daily, but 3 days without any basic service is really ridiculous for a "hotel". Honestly, the room on my first day is clean, but I can't give them a high score for "cleanliness" for the reason above.

It is great for sleeping and spending most of the time outside. Check-in and check-out was very convenient and you can easily lock your luggage for the day.Location is also good and you can reach all places by public transportation.

It was clean and convenient with 24/7 access. Also it was close by for couple of 7/11s, bus stops.

We had to pay a separate government enforced tax when checking in. It wasn’t a big amount but it was a surprise for us.

The 2 bedroom room was of a good size, but in the 3 bedroom room, there was basically no space to put our 3 cabin size luggage! We had to keep them under the bed, which is not very convenient.

very small, barely any room just to walk in. dust and rubbish was found on the floor, we checked out after one night
