The location is impeccable: in downtown Shijokarasuma, Kyoto, on the route of Gion Matsuri floats processions. The hotel is tidy and clean, with too much helpful info on walls to tell you good breakfasts, restaurants, shops...around. The staff are fluent in English and ready to help guests. The breakfast is served by Doutor Café. The public shower room and laundry are clean and convenient. The price is super economic.
The room is small to have a bed only, making the room look like a dorm. The breakfast has only two options. There is only one shower room in the first floor. The management asked guests to turn on A/C all the time and set temperature no higher than 26 C degree, which is a waste of electricity and also makes the room be chilling.
Everything is brand new, the bathroom is especially confortable on the woman only floor. You can get new towels everyday. There are great restaurants recommandations in the hall.
A bit more space under the bunk beds for suitcases would've been nice

Very close to bus and train stations... plus ichiran and nishiki market. Convenient place to sleep at esp if youre gonna really spend the whole day outside

The facilities were nice and clean, the room was small but well designed. It was in a very central location, close to the bus stop and the subway.
Everything in the room was humid. It was so humid that damp clothes would not dry overnight.
The bathrooms/shower rooms are amazing! Really high water pressure, very clean and huge so you’re not kept waiting. Also you can use provided pajamas and get a new towel daily. The location is also excellent and the staff were very kind.
Perfect location. Amazing setup, modern, clean and great shower and laundry facilities. Beds were funky but could have been comfier however did not detract from our stay. Perfect place to access Gion and Kyoto metro

We were told on check-in the room we had booked wasn't available due to a humidity issue but the room we were given was still good
Liked trying something different with common bathrooms. Large amounts of toilets and sinks in the bathrooms.
The women’s floor only had two showers and one was under repair. More showers are necessary! Staff were not friendly at all.
