THE L.A. MART HOTEL KYOTO

Location was great, rooms are out dated but room size was sufficient

Laundry facility, only 1 washer/dryer combo and not 24 hours

Hotel was close to Nishiki market and many restaurants. Walking distance to subway was about 6-15 minutes depending on which entrance you needed. Staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We did need to leave our key at reception anytime we went out but there was someone on call 24 hours so we could come and go as needed. Room was spacious and clean. Check out the restaurant that’s right beside the hotel - you won’t be disappointed!

We stayed two nights and enjoyed the central location, it was also clean, and the staff were kind and attentive. It is a 10min walk from the metro which is convenient, it is also close to a few laundromats which was great. The thermostat worked well and we could control the room temperature easily.

The location and the staff was the best part of this stay, I will be booking them again for our next trip over. The room was spacious and the bed was super comfy. The staff were easy to communicate with and when my husband threw in some Japanese they were ecstatic, making the experience all the more enjoyable!

Great location. Management polite, helpful and available. Affordable and spacious rooms. Very clean. Felt very safe - I was travelling alone.

The mattress could have been more comfortable.

Rooms are a decent size, with two twin beds which are very comfortable and soft. Great location - there's a 7/11 right nearby and there are multiple long streets full of shops and restaurants to explore.

The walls are a bit thin, so we heard some of the street sounds, but we were so tired we could just tune it out when we went to sleep. Just be careful if you're a light sleeper!

Super comfy beds, the best beds of our trip! Awesome pillows too. Conveniently located, quiet neighborhood but still close enough to the hustle and bustle.

Luggage storage isn't guaranteed 24/7 so definitely check with them first!

Convenient location in the shopping area. Not too far from the Sanjo train station.

No facial cleanser/lotion provided in the room.

Great position, nice room

Not many place where to hang your staff, you have to bring and collect the key at the reception each time, a bit pricey

Very well situated: near all shopping facilities, bus stops to main sites of interest are within 5 minutes walk, One can walk to Gion and many other sites.Good coffee available at the reception and good restaurant belonging to the same group on the ground floor.

Disappointing

We arrived at the property at 2:40 pm and our daughter was very tired after the long journey we asked to check in and the answer was at 3 pm (in 20 mins ) they had the room ready but those 20 mins was crucial for them! Please next time pay attention to people and if the room is ready just let them check in! Quite robotic system and no emotion

Very friendly staff, clean and most importantly big enough rooms for a 2m guy. Perfect location near gion to explore Kyoto

The room was not cleaned each day, when we requested for towels the size given was wrong too

We had a great stay! Staff were so friendly and welcoming. They were very helpful in organising luggage transfer for us- filling out the forms and everything. The room was lovely- comfy beds and good quality bedding and a nice bathroom. The hotel is in a great location, close to multiple bus stops, and a train station. It is on the doorstep of Rishiki market and walking distance to lots of other attractions.

Windows didn't open and were opaque so could not see out of them.

The hotel is in a nice position to go around Kyoto.It is close to the metro stations that we used.Room had enough space and comfort.

The room was a bit too dark and the pillow was no great.

Great location, nice staff.

The room smells really bad like humidity from the check-in. As you cannot open the window, the smell is terrible. The towels also smell really bad. The ventilation of the room is unexisting.We had one cleaning included but I didn’t see the difference. At other hotels they just change towels but also collect the garbage (not the case). The lift is terrible, it always stops on the second floor (reception) and it takes really long to go down. I tried to use the stairs but it was plenty of housekeeping items, so not possible to pass.

This was a wonderful place for us. The room was clean (and especially bathroom-which is a blessing). The staff was kind and helpful, and the location was fantastic—a quiet yet enjoyable neighborhood to spend time in. Gion is easily accessible by walking. Also pretty closes to busses, and different subway lines. Without a doubt, we recommend it.
