    Pros +

    • Small room, but with everything we needed. All clean, modern and well designed. Great local neighborhood with many great restaurants. Loved this stay.
    • I liked the location best! It was close enough to walk to certain locations such as Harbs, the Pokémon Center, Nijo Castle, etc., but far enough where you wouldn’t deal with much noise. It was also nearby Omiya station and even more amazingly, Randen station, which takes you directly to Arashiyama without transfers. In my experience, it was easy to get a seat at Randen station, as most people got on at the next station when heading to Arashiyama. It was also close to a Daiso and quite a few convenience stores so if you ever needed to purchase anything, things were nearby!
    • This location and cleaning were good.

    Cons -

    • It was a bit cold while there so I always had to turn on the heater for quite a bit of time before the room warmed up. Also, the water wouldn’t smoothly go down the drain in the bath.
    • This room is a bit small.
    • I wish there were extra pillows. The pillows were small and made sitting up in bed uncomfortable. I probably could have asked for an extra though. The staff was accommodating.

Centrally located. Had laundry facilities. Small but comfortable room.

Cleanliness (there are dust in air-con filter) but overall cleanliness in the room is okay.

The location itself is good as it is only 3 minutes from Omiya station

We stayed for two nights. On the first night, while taking a shower, I noticed that the water was not draining properly. When I checked, I was shocked to see a large amount of hair, clearly indicating that the drain had not been cleaned at all.The next morning, I informed the staff, and they assured us it would be taken care of. When we returned to our room that evening, the shower drain had been cleaned. However, when we lifted the toilet seat, we found the same hair left there. Whether they forgot to flush or simply did not clean thoroughly, this showed a lack of care after our initial complaint. We raised the issue again, and although staff came to the room and removed the hair, the situation left us very uncomfortable. We may have been unlucky but the fact they did not even clean the toilet afterwards raises concerns about the overall hygiene standards and how rooms are cleaned.I would not recommend staying here and I would advise the hotel staff to be better trained.

The room is a bit small, but really clean and cozy. The hotel is really close to the subway station, bus station, mcdonalds, 7eleven, so I would say the location is really good! We really loved our stay here!?

the room was a bit tiny

Perfect stay. Everything was great. The room is clean and bed is really comfortable. Amazing and helpful staff

The place is very accessible to bus and trains going to Gion, Kiyomizudera and Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. The area is also quiet and peaceful. We’re really lucky that we’ve managed to book the property as it is mostly convenient when doing the sightseeing in Kyoto.

Really clean, nice amenities, great tub & shower, very helpful staff.

    Location

I’ve never written any negative reviews, but this was genuinely the worst hotel experience I’ve had in Kyoto, or anywhere else. From the moment I checked in, the property felt understaffed and unprepared. Check-in at 3:00 PM was chaotic, and both the first floor and the corridor on Level 2 were filled with dirty towels, trash bags, and cleaning supplies scattered across the floor. Shockingly, the same mess remained late that night and was still untouched the next morning. A used towel was even left right at my door — I had to move it aside just to enter the room.Inside, cleanliness was equally unacceptable. There was someone else’s white hair in the bathtub and a pile of hair left in the toilet. The bathtub drain was so clogged that water rose to my calves every time I showered. Although I was exhausted from work travel and did not want to wait for staff who were already overwhelmed, these conditions were far below even the most basic standards. The most frightening incident happened on my second night. After I went to bed, someone repeatedly attempted to open my door. It was terrifying. When I opened the door, a couple stood there showing me a key card for my room number, insisting it was their room. They argued with me for a while until I closed the door. After they left, I barely slept, constantly worried about whether someone else might try to open my door again. While the hotel later explained that the couple had mistakenly gone to the wrong branch, it still does not address how there are no security measures to prevent random people from entering guest floors — especially given that their multiple branches are located so close to each other. I’m sure it’s not the first time people have mistaken. There were hardly any staff visible at the front desk most of the time, and there was no key-access requirement for the elevator or even for the building at night. Anyone could simply walk in.

The location was ok, there was a station next to the hotel

The hotel room was extremely dirty when we were checking in and also even after asking to clean it, it remained quite dirty. This hotel was the dirtiest hotel that I have been staying. The hotel rooms are being cleaned every 5th day only

    Reasonable price for Kyoto

Bed and pillows extremely uncomfortable, inconvenient location. Somewhat small, but usual for Japanese accomodation.

    9AnsleyPosted on: 10-13-2025

Rooms are very nice, modern, and clean. The hotel is also in a quiet and local neighborhood in the very center of Kyoto. Staff was also very kind and accommodating.

Rooms are very, very tiny, which I think is normal in Japan, but also something to note. Location is definitely not bad, but not very close to any major tourist attractions, except for Nijo Castle, but there are many bus stops nearby to take you around the city.

    8TrixiePosted on: 10-6-2025

Close to everything, almost all walking distance. Every late midnight we were able to come out, because bike rentals are available near the area so it's no hassle for us exploring the city. They have a laundry room and nice amenities for people who packed lightly. They also change towels and robes everyday, which makes them different to most hotels/inn.

There were blood stains in the shower curtain before we used the unit. We did tell the staff and they changed it immediately. There was also a weird smell... Maybe the previous guests smoked inside the room.

It was beyond my expectation. Nice staff clean rooms. Too many free amenities. Very good location near subway

    Everything was perfect

The location is extremely convenient for using public transportation, which we greatly enjoyed. The amenities are good, the room is clean and the staff is very kind.

The room is really tiny, which means even opening our suitcases was a challenge.

The location was convenient to local transportation options

The room sold as a double is not sustainable for 2 adults. There is absolutely no room for 2 suitcases and storage on the window sill was necessary. The hotel offers no cleaning service for the entire stay, and leaves a bag of new towels at the door every morning. The front desk staff was not helpful at all. I realize that language barriers can be present, but even with translation devices, they seemed completely unaware of services. We had read that there was a microwave over was available for use, but when asked, we were told there was no microwave. Only to find out there WAS a microwave oven in the laundry area.
