Window was in a light well and opaque glass, washing machine in room was a nice idea but did not work at all.

The location was wonderful being so close to the Karasuma line and taramachi shopping area

The ONLY thing is the water tank in the humidifier was a bit moldy. There are some small mold spots in the bathroom as well.

Location was great, staff friendly, room with washer/dryer was a plus. Good price point.

I expected it to be a little more clean. Not being able to control the AC vs heat wasn’t great during my stay since it was good weather outside but the heat was on.

Well appointed and affordable option in a central location. The complimentary sake and coffee in the lobby was appreciated, as was the attentiveness of the staff who were very quick to help with any questions we had.

Location was pretty good and had access to subway lines. 25 min walk to Nishiki.In unit washer dryer was convenient but not worth everything else.

Very unclean, musty, moldy. Paid 2x more when we booked than they offered near time of arrival. Maybe a consideration if half price but at the price we paid this was a horrendous deal. Most unclean hotel we have stayed at in Japan by far and we don't usually pay nearly as much as we did here. Look at reviews on Google or trip com and you will see many more bad reviews. Bathrooms began to smell bad at night. Very warm and wet. Mold everywhere in the bathroom, walls, drapes, curtains, floor. Very poor lighting. Standard small room which has never bothered us but terrible use of vertical space. No where to set luggage or hang clothes. We saw many people open room doors to get better ventilation or cool off their hot rooms.Not worth the price. Avoid this location and I will no longer stay at Tokyu Stays due to this horrendous experience.Really took away from our trip. Felt like we could not relax when that was very needed.Didn't get photos of the worst spots like the drapes, window, and everything in the bathroom. Everything was dirty, and we constantly were washing hands and avoiding touching anything. Had to put towels on all surfaces to use as semi clean spaces.

The location is perfect for sightseeing and walking around. Our rooms were comfortable and had all the amenities. The free evening sake & morning coffee machine is a nice touch!

The whole hotel only heats or only cools. So if it’s too warm in your room in the winter you can’t cool it. But the windows open so you can get fresh air that way.

The location was great. The staff was excellent & helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. The drinks available downstairs in the lobby were a very nice amenity. The price was reasonable.

It was a bit corporate in feel. It smelled a bit musty when we would first come into the room (from the air not being on?). But I am quite sensitive to these things.

We liked that the hotel was a few minute walk from the Karasuma Oike Station, across the street from a 7-11, a Starbucks Reserve was around the corner if you wanted that. There were some good restaurants nearby & other good restaurants within walking distance. Being out of the centre part of Kyoto provided peace & tranquility.Staff were very friendly & always there to help with whatever questions we had or help with whatever we needed.The added amenities was a nice touch. The beverage station (coffee, tea, water) & the sake was a bonus.Room was very comfortable & having the washer/dryer combo machine was a bonus as Kyoto was our midway point for our 2 week Japan holiday.We would recommend this hotel & stay again if we have the opportunity to visit Kyoto again.

I wouldn't stay we didn't like but would have enjoyed if the free coffee station they provide in the lobby were available earlier. Being up & ready to explore early it was a bummer that there was nothing setup earlier. The free sake they provide during the day is a nice touch, but it was meh.

I really liked the neighborhood which was on a small quiet street, but there were stores and restaurants close by. One block over was a major street to catch a bus or train. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. I liked the lobby coffee machine to get coffee most of the day.

The in-room washer could use better instruction in English or other languages. I wasn't sure what temperature the water was set at.

The hotel entrance is very nice and the lobby staff are very helpful. They offer free sake in the lobby which was nice. It was great to have a washing machine in the room.

Really bad cleaning policy. They don't clean your room but change towels and empty trash. The rooms are small so it would be nice with a daily bedding at least. I don't require to change bed linnen but I do require for that price that the room is cleaned every day. We stayed for 10 nights and only got 1 cleaning, very bad and rare for Japan where they normally value cleaning a lot.

Great stay, excellent staff. Enjoyed the daily breakfast with a lot of options. Centrally located. 7/11 right on corner for any late night needs. Would absolutely stay here again. Room does have odor of musky, but dissipates after awhile, no evidence of mold in room. Would recommend room freshener.

Great location & staff, clean, comfortable, the breakfast was delicious & you get in the lobby free drinks.. I recommend it.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and responsive. It was great to have a washer in the room. The shower had good water pressure. The bed was comfortable.

There was a very bad smell of mildew or mold coming from the bathroom and possibly from the washer. We were too tired the first night to ask to be switched and then we just put up with it. But the hotel should not subject people to the smell. They should fix the problem.

The staff and location were great!

The room seemed to be designed ideally for a single business person. It was very small for a couple from the US as we are used to having more space. The room felt claustrophobic at first, but we got used to it quickly. The washer and pants ironing device in the room would be great for business people who might need these amenities. We had an air shaft instead of a window, so we couldn't see outside and with no view it felt like we were in the middle of a ship which added to the closed in feeling that was uncomfortable for us. The buckwheat (?) filled pillows were nice and comfy. A robe and slippers are also included and you may keep the slippers.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and offered a comfortable large seating area with coffee and other drinks. It is close to a 7-Eleven and a short walk to other areas. They were also attentive with arranging taxis, answering questions about the area and holding our luggage.

The location was perfect and I loved the free beverages in the lobby, especially the free saki.

The room felt a bit humid.
