    Pros +

    • Cozy lounge, clean facilities, public bath had a hot soaking tub, free coffee and other amenities
    • Great location a 10 minute walk from Kyoto Station and a subway station, with restaurants and convenience stores in between. Walking distance to Teamlabs Biovortex. Spacious, comfortable lobby with a variety of teas and coffees, microwave, and toaster. Very compact but comfortable room with my own sink. No view but the window opened for fresh air. Shared bathroom and shower areas were very clean. There's a private shower available if you're shy about using the group bath. I stayed for a week and hated to leave!
    • Central location, super clean super new, modern showers and nice big Onsen for 4 people at a time. Nice amenities, nice staff, overall good experience.

    Cons -

    • Cramped room and stiff beds/pillows
    • My one complaint was the laundry area; it was filthy and smelly, in contrast to the rest of the property. It was nasty enough that I'm deducting a star. Staff were ok, not super friendly.
    • The rooms are super tiny, you have to use space very good to pack from your luggage. The room is practically only the bed and a sink to wash your face.

Excellent location, Onsen was a plus, clean facilities.

Only having showers on the first level. I missed that in the description.

Loved the proximity to the station, the staff and room.

The clothing was a bit small for my taller boyfriend and the bath water wasn't the cleanest (probably from guests not washing properly).

Close to train station shopping restaurants pretty much a 5 min walk to everything essential. Many attractions with in 20 min

    That i didn't stay longer

What’s not to love about this hotel? The public bath is simply divine, you can’t beat the proximity to the Kyoto station, and there is a subway entrance nearby that will connect you to many popular tourist destinations nearby. If you like coffee, you can hand grind your own beans and make pour over or French press, and the luggage forwarding device is super easy to use. Public bath allows tattoos, which is a huge win for me.

Everything was perfect, I wouldn’t change a thing.

The lobby/common area has such a great vibe and was a pleasure in which to hang out, especially given the tea and coffee bar. Having a sink in the room was wonderful, as was the large communal bath. Plus it’s in a great location.

The place was definitely clean but there was a bit of a wet carpet kind of smell. Still, given all the other positive aspects, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

The furniture and interior was very traditional warm and welcoming. The public path was a great experience and was still convenient since we had a sink in our room. It’s super close to the subway, 5 min walk at most. Nice lounge area for us to relax and rest

    4DaryooshPosted on: 5-20-2025

The location was not too far from the public transport. There were two convenient stores on each way from the hotel.

Small room, not adjustable air-con, uncomfortable and noisy beds, small toilet and shower, now window lookout and proper lighting, expensive compared to the room we got.

Perfect location, you will move around easily.Staff was very friendly, they helped us with the paperwork for sending our luggage to Tokyo.Common area with free coffe and teas

    Room was very small

    10YodalisPosted on: 5-2-2025

The staff was great! Location and room was great. Loved having a small onsen and bath on the first floor.

The dryers take forever. Should upgrade the laundry system.

    10YasminPosted on: 4-30-2025

The room was small but super comfortable and had a sink, fridge, shelves, under bed storage and a hanging rail for clothes. The bed was comfortable as well. There were great amenities as well. Down at reception, there were options like kettles, charging cables, games etc. that you could grab for the room which were great. There were also free tea and coffee options as well. There was also a free onsen/public baths in the hotel and they were fine with tattoos. My partner is heavily tattooed and they were absolutely fine with him using the onsen.

Again the room is a bit small but The toilets and showers are communal which we knew about and we’re fine with. The shower doors were transparent which could be jarring for some Westerners. Just as an FYI.

I don’t recommend the property for a family rooms are very small there is no enough space to keep the bags I have never stayed this kind of room 2mx3.5m this is only good for one person

    Rooms very small

Good location, situated at quiet side of the city. Got free washing machines and dryers to use

    8JenniferPosted on: 4-9-2025

This was a really good base for sightseeing in Kyoto! While the rooms are on the smaller side (especially if sharing), they were cozy, and well-designed. The shared bathrooms were clean and convenient. The location is ideal—tucked between two metro stations, making it super easy to get around the city. Good value and ideal for travelers who’ll be out exploring all day.

A nice hotel, clean, impressive selection of free coffee and tee, pleasant atmosphere. Close to Kyoto station and a subway line

    5NogaPosted on: 4-6-2025

The stay at the hotel was disappointing. The elevator, hallway, and room all had a musty smell, and the carpets were not clean. There was only one elevator, which was very slow and caused long waiting times. The laundry room was free, which was a plus, but had a strong and unpleasant odor when the machines were in use.The room itself was uncomfortable. The bed was placed against two walls, limiting movement and creating a sense of confinement. Despite having a private sink, the overall layout felt cramped and uninviting. Toilets were available on the same floor, but they were very small, with doors that opened inward, making them awkward and uncomfortable to use. The shared showers were located only near the lobby, in a back area, which caused significant inconvenience.Although the hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station, reaching it with luggage was not convenient. The only positive aspects were the relative privacy of the room, the presence of a sink, and the friendly, helpful service at the front desk.

    3JustinPosted on: 4-6-2025

Good location, tea and coffee self-serve in lounge.

The laundry machines were overused since they’re no charge, and the dryer machine was broken. The machines are poorly maintained. Staff could not do anything regarding the broken machine. We wasted hours to get our clothes dry which ended up smelling bad from the machine.Rooms were tiny even for Japanese standards. Room service very sparse, charges extra for sheets and towels if they need to be replaced. Nothing is done to enforce quietness, and walls are paper thin, so lots of noise is heard being made from disrespectful guests so it’s hard to sleep. Room has an off putting smell and does not have ventilation. The shared showers have no lock on the shower door and are see-through.
