Hyatt Regency Kyoto Hotel

The staff at the hotel where extremely helpful.

I found the hotel to be over priced for the services they provided. $120 for lunch for two adults and a two year old was a bit over the top for pasta. The room was small.

Hyatt quality. Staff was excellent. Restaurants were very nice. Garden view lovely. Great shower. Nice amenities.

Sound proofing between rooms could be better. Could hear neighbors. Closet and hall a little cramped.

The staff spoke very good English which was very helpful. They had English DVD's available on a complimentary basis which allowed you to have a break from the BBC! You were able to open the window and let fresh air in, quite often not available.

Not very close to many restaurants for evening meals - which required a taxi/bus. Expensive room rates. They have one free taxi ride with VIP MKR taxis from station to hotel per person per visit - but don't advertise and should inform you.

The Room is really nice, staff is friendly and really accomodating. They even help sending a left-behind item to another city.

Bar could be better, I love hotel bars that pays a lot of attention in quality and details for classic menu.

Luxurious and very classy. Staff was both friendly and sophisticated. Concierge staff went out of their way to provide excellent restaurant recommendations and then get us reservations, even at Japanese only traditional dinners. Our room was large with a comfortable king size bed and very quiet. The downstairs bar was very cool being both hip and laid back. Breakfast buffet was excellent.

The rooms were big that I got and the service was great

Needs to be updated but they are doing that now so new rooms coming. Also they need to serve the famous iced coffee drink all year not seasonal

Great Location, Great Food, Prices were reasonable enough.

Small room, small Bathroom doesn’t have a Lock Door, small TV.

Good size rooms. Big bathroom with seperate toilet. No noise when we we’re in the room.

Did not have a good night sleep because the bed and pillows where to hard. The AC was on 19, but still the bed was to hot.Location is far from almost everything. 30min walk to centre/dinner.

The staff were superb with a lot of attention to details, we were in our honeymoon and they send us a special gift to celebrate.

The bed could be more comfortable, it felt hard for our like.

The breakfast location had a nice garden view.

I think they lacked a lot of variety in terms of breakfast, very few options. And also they are very strict with the breakfast wardrobe trying getting breakfast in sandals and it wasn’t allowed. Also the decoration was basic and simple for the hotel value.

I love this hotel. stayed a week this time and also last time with my husband. The rooms, staff, breakfast and location all great. A few economies have been made but you would not notice them - Japan like many other places is having severe financial difficulties.

Not much. Miss the tray Japanese breakfast which has to be ordered and not always available. Dislike some of their pushy guests from elsewhere in Asia and waste lots of food at the breakfast buffet which is unacceptable and bad form in Japan.

Good location.

My room was overlooking roof top.To cover the ugly view of the roof with dead bamboo plants which made it worse. I booked another room for my friend which is superior to my room and room rate was lower.It doesn’t make any sense.

Great value for a 5 star hotel - similar in quality to other 5 star hotels but at significantly less cost. Beautiful room, clean, wonderful service, and good location - only 2-5 min walk to bus stops and 9 min walk to subway. Higashiyama attractions are 20 min walk away. Taxis are nearby with a 1-5 min wait. Will come back in the future!

Very gracious, helpful and welcoming staff and atmosphere. Hotel food options excellent.

Spa and exercise facilities were not obvious or easy to find.

It wasn’t central to places but the train was close by so that was convenient.
