    • Very homey little guesthouse with an easy 15 min walk from Kyoto station. The bathroom was located downstairs from our beds upstairs but that didn't bother us! Our host was lovely and checked us in very swiftly :) would definitely come back here again!
    • Beautiful ryokan with amazing staff. If you want to taste traditional japanese breakfast/dinner, rent bike and ride around Kyoto or just sit outside in small garden, this is perfect place. Next visit we'll come here again.
    • The linens smelled like fresh laundry! The staff was so lovely, and immediately made us feel at home. The place was spotless, sets the bar REAL high for a hostel! I would come back, and recommend to all.

    Cons -

    • We don't like we had to leave.
    • Since there are limited shower facilities available you need to book in advance, just a little something you have to be mindful of. Honestly, it did not pose any problems for us - but for any visitor to be mindful of :)
    • Remember to bring your earplugs for the sound insulation there isn't quiet good. You have to go on steep stairs if you live in the dorm In general it is good.

Teru is very kind and earnest. He helped me a lot.The attic for reading books is my favourite place in this hotel. It has all the facilities you need, which made my stay very confortable.

Staff is awesome. Taro San helped me everything and was very gentle and kind. The place is clean and beautiful, there is a bathtub and a nice kitchen. It does not feel like a dorm or a guesthouse because everything is quiet and comfortable, I felt as if I was staying in a good friend's house. There is a charming area outside with a table and chairs and I enjoyed eating there with other guests. I stayed in the dorm but there were rooms in japanese style which were absolutely cool. It is only 15 minutes walk from Kyoto station and very near Nishi and Higashi Honganji temples. I intend to go back soon :-)

Clean, plenty of space, staff were friendly, towel hire is available.

The downstairs 4 person room is located between the galley kitchen on one side and a common courtyard area which includes the bathrooms on another side. The guesthouse lets guests book showers until 1am in the morning which means that whilst they have a policy of no noise after 11pm if people are taking showers and are loud it can be a struggle to sleep in the room. You can also have people cooking late at night right outside the room as well. The guesthouse should change the booking policy to be no use after 11pm (their current curfew time - however there could be an argument to bring this forward as well given the downstairs rooms are not segregated from common space) such that guests in that room are not disturbed. Equally cooking in the kitchen should be closed after 10pm such that this is also not a disturbance. The room was good and on 3/4 nights it was not problematic but its entirely dependent on who else is staying given the shower booking system that is currently in place.Additionally tourist tax is not included in the room rate and is charged in cash on check in. This makes the rooms more expensive than advertised on booking.com
