    • The location ,rooms and atmosphere were amazing
    • We came to Four Seasons to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday. We received great service and welcoming, and we even received an upgraded room. The team of the reception noticed that we preferred a different location for our room, and they found a perfect location and room type for us, which made us very very happy and satisfied. In addition, the concierge services helped us very much, especially ms. Chihiro Shinoda and ms. Hatsune Enomoto which helped us a lot to resolve two different problems which occurred during our stay. Best Hotel and stuff !!!

The property is outstanding. It’s super clean (as with most places in Kyoto), is spacious and offers amazing photo opportunities. All the staff (and I mean every single person there) were friendly, courteous and knowledgeable about the hotel and area.

    10MoathPosted on: 5-15-2025

The property is beautifully located and a fairly central location in Kyoto. It has a beautiful private garden and breakfast area. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfy (as what you might expect from The Four Seasons). The breakfast if diverse and excellent. If you are visiting Kyoto this is surly on of the Top 3 hotels in Kyoto.

There was nothing that we did not like. Perfect property!

Peaceful and top end of 5 star, better rise by the glass options is my only critique otherwise the wine by the glass was stunning. The spa, the koi carp lake, in fact everything is great about this hotel. Staff are amazing too

The breakfast was exceptional. The fruit was perhaps the best we ever had. It's hard to imagine having such amazing fruit again.

A little better explanation of the bill. I think it was a bit of a language barrier.

A different kind of heaven, since we came from the Four Seasons Tokyo at Otemachi. It was the same wonderful experience, but more peaceful and contemplative. The building has only four floors and stretches through a beautiful garden. It offers more intimacy, tranquility, and calm—perfect for a peaceful stay, enjoying massages, reflections, mental rest, and everything that Japanese culture is so well known for.

    Everything was perfect

    10MelissaPosted on: 2-14-2025

It’s a Four Seasons property so the service was top tier and the property itself was very luxurious. It had almost a boutique feel as well. The beautiful garden and pond are the showstoppers though.

    10ABDULLAHPosted on: 12-10-2024

The hotel itself is built around the stunning Shakusui-en, an 800-year-old heritage pond garden. This breathtaking garden is a masterpiece of natural beauty, adorned with vibrant trees and diverse flowers that change with the seasons. Guests can also explore the historic Tea House, which is a focal point of the garden and a must-visit for tourists staying at the hotel. Feeding the fish in the serene pond is a delightful experience, making the garden an enchanting escape from the everyday. The architecture of the hotel pays homage to the traditional Kyoto-style homes, blending historical charm with modern luxury. The property boasts excellent facilities, including a well-equipped fitness center, a large restaurant helmed by an award-winning international chef, and a self-heated swimming pool.Breakfast at the hotel is a standout feature, offering a diverse and international buffet. For Muslim travelers, halal options are available upon request. Simply inform the staff, and the chef will ensure that all sauces and meats are prepared according to halal standards—a thoughtful touch that makes the experience even more accommodating.

The hotel’s interior was stunning, complemented by a beautiful garden setting. The service level was exceptional, and the staff were highly professional, assisting with packing my bags and even handling shipment arrangements. The reception staff were also very friendly, making my stay even more enjoyable.

Maybe a bit far from the Main Streets of the city.

    9ChrisPosted on: 11-2-2024

The room was very good (an upgrade although it didn’t have a nice view which we generally try to get). Facilities were all excellent (gym, swimming pool, garden etc).

Restaurant prices were higher than equivalent class hotels in Tokyo. Fewer restaurant/bar options than in Tokyo. Clientele was mostly US and the breakfast coffee was of US type (bland and weak :-)).

    8MarinaPosted on: 10-19-2024

The gardens were outstanding. The service was very good.

The rooms were comfortable but not especial. A bit impersonal. Extremely expensive for what we got. We compared with the Okura in Tokyo and felt the Okura is in a class of its own and less expensive .

beautiful design, amazing Japanese garden, good breakfast, relaxing atmosphere

location a bit far from center

Amazing hotel and Service ,, The rooms are very nice ,, spacious and clean. The Spa treatment and the spa facilities is a must. Great Location as well.

we stayed 3 nights and we wanted to try the sushi really either lunch or dinner but it was full,, Also I would suggest adding more food options in the other restaurant like italian section because I am not a big fan of steaks so italian is always a safe option for me.

It was not included with my stay. Claiming high season. Therefore was forced to prepay 4 days breakfast and it was not refundable. Did not like this at all!

Stay at residential suite at approx $29,000.00 and according to website complimentary transfer to/from Kyoto station. We were told at check in . High season only allow one round trip complimentary to/from Kyoto ststion. Is this false advertisement?

    Breakfast is healthly and delicious.

Dinner meal food not much choice, as my family not eat beef/lamb.All the potato side dishes and main dishes quite large, it can share 2 -3 people, SO we left a lot of potato. It is waste of food.

    9JoannePosted on: 11-5-2023

The hotel was beautiful, the staff were friendly and very respectful and the food was outstanding.

We found the servicing of our room to be on occasion lacking given the cost of the accommodation. Items for example such as tea bags and toiletries that we used were not replaced.

We feel very relax and claim in there. The Omakase very delicious.

    The room price quite expensive
