    Pros +

    • Great location, friendly staff, loved the takoyaki making and the free sake on NYE! Also, I think it’s terrific that they require you to request cleaning service rather than provide it automatically- helps lower room costs & good for environment
    • Location. Cleanliness. Amenities.
    • This was my favourite hostel so far in Japan and I recommended it to my friends. Staff are friendly, and I received service that generally felt much kinder than other hostels or even hotels. Shared facilities are designed beautifully and feels like a modern, well-designed social hostel, though it not very busy while I was there - probably because it is the off season. The hotel aesthetic with wooden furniture, books, and video game nights are nice and makes me want to spend time there outside of sleeping. In other hostels, it often feels uncommon to see people over 35 staying in a hostel, but it almost gives a hotel vibe, so it felt natural that older adults were also staying. Facilities were clean and I liked having a keycard to make the room more secure. The location could not be better, it is a 5 minute walk to Kyoto station and really near the Shinkansen platforms for those going to or arriving from another major city.

    Cons -

    • Elevator was out of order. Our room was on 4F.
    • The elevator broke while I was there but that’s not really the hostel’s fault. Perhaps the only con is that there is not a shared freezer that I could tell? But I think there was a sign saying you could talk to staff if you needed to freeze something.
    • Only note of complaint is the breakfasts offered. It is very basic offering bread and some fruit or granolas, for that price you may as well go to a Family Mart or 7-Eleven and get something more filling or varied. On that note, there is a one on your way to the closest station, so my recommendation is doing that instead.

Hostel was very nice and welcoming. Staff made it a point when checking in to show all available amenities, recommendations of nearby places, and to let them know of any issues.Facilities were clean and common areas often lively with other tenants, so was a pleasant atmosphere to hang about if you needed to take it easy for a while.Rooms were small but very functional, and the bed was particularly comfortable, perfect for those looking for a pragmatic place only to spend the night on without worries.Location was perfect as it is less than a 10 minute walk to Kyoto Station, and from there you can connect to any place you wish to visit, so that is the biggest selling point.

Only note of complaint is the breakfasts offered. It is very basic offering bread and some fruit or granolas, for that price you may as well go to a Family Mart or 7-Eleven and get something more filling or varied. On that note, there is a one on your way to the closest station, so my recommendation is doing that instead.

It was clean and orderly. I liked having a sink in my room

My first hostel visit so the communal experience took some getting used to

    9DevinPosted on: 1-19-2026

Very nice staff and super clean. They have an awesome coffee machine as well

Pretty quiet hostel not many people socializing. Only one shower facility on the main floor

    9RanjithPosted on: 1-19-2026

    Good experience.

There was no option at the point of booking to choose between an upper bed or a lower bed. I have a back injury and found it difficult to climb to my upper bed. Unfortunately, the staff could not change my allocated bed.

    9BrookePosted on: 1-19-2026

Very clean with comfy beds, laundry machines (pre-loaded detergent), and fresh towels and slippers available daily

    10NathanPosted on: 1-17-2026

Everything! Laundry available on site for a fee, free coffee machine, amazing location, comfy rooms, sink in bedroom, very clean amenities.

    10SerfozoPosted on: 1-11-2026

Excellent location, walking distance from Kyoto Station. Nice warm room and warm corridors. Free coffee. Comfy bed.

Showers are only on the first floor.

location is quite ok. need to walk a bit into the alley. but near 7-11. good that it is near the train station and bus station. near shopping malls, though not enough time to shop anyways. staffs are very nice to me. One Japanese male staff I don't know his name is super friendly and active. Facilities are outstanding!! my first time in a hostel but sure this is the best one!! Loved that it has a nice kitchen to cook!! not only just microwave or only fridge. Luckily I've booked the single loft room. I've got enough space to open my luggage. funny how I had to crawl up with legs that just walked 20,000 steps here when I never exceed 100 steps back at home.

Only comment is the bunk bed could have a foam guard to prevent anyone's head hitting the edge of the bed when they stands up.

    10JonathanPosted on: 1-3-2026

The location is number 1. It is so close to Kyoto station. 2, the staff were all amazing friendly and helpful.

There was a false fire alarm that went off at 7am on New Year’s Day. This was no fault of anyone’s. But it was difficult to handle.

    10MarcelPosted on: 12-15-2025

Common area and location are superb. Everything is clean. There even is a bathroom with a big stone bathtub and bathing mixtures for free. Coffee and tea for free in the lobby area and a very nice place for chilling/working.

    10MelikePosted on: 12-12-2025

I really enjoyed my stay there! It’s clean, comfortable and cozy. Location wise it’s close by the station only 10 min by walk. The staff is really helpful and friendly and understanding. I left my luggage after check out and they didn’t make any problem, offered me a cup of coffee and let me use the dressing room. Definitely recommended!

    9DeepakPosted on: 12-11-2025

The hotel enjoys a convenient location with excellent connectivity to public transportation. The common area stands out as the most notable feature of the property, offering a welcoming and well‑maintained space for guests to relax and socialize.

I didn't find any in particular.

    9Chee A.Posted on: 12-1-2025

Very friendly and helpful staff. They speak very good English. Very clean, including the toilet and shower room. I like they povide good comfortable bathing towels outside the shower room. Very spacious common area for eating or doing your work on the lobby floor. I also enjoy looking at the big map that shows different sightseeing places near the hotel, while eating my food, at the common area! Love it.

A challenge to find the hotel location, due to some construction area, for the first time guest. Once I found it, there is a shorter way to get to the hotel, through the big parking lot area.

    10ThomasPosted on: 11-30-2025

Its very clean staff are welcoming and helpful. The guests are quiet and respectful.

The shower are in a different level and that laundry room is outside.

    7JanellePosted on: 11-28-2025

Had kitchen and option to get breakfast for good value. Showers were clean and had umbrellas to use at front.

Although close to Kyoto station was farther than thought from all kyoto attractions

    10JumanaPosted on: 11-27-2025

Everything about it was great, it’s good that they offer shared bedrooms and private ones. I was a solo female muslim traveler and i felt very happy with my choice. Definitely will be booking it for my next trip to kypto

The powder room was shared, so maybe for someone who wears hijab that would not be comfortable

    10JoaquimPosted on: 11-23-2025

The whole place is very clean and well organized. The staff are very friendly and videogame night is a great idea, it was fun! Also very affordable and very close to the Kyoto station.
