Beautiful property with a wonderful and helpful staff. Close to train stations and convenience stores, but also a beautiful castle. The rooms were comfortable and tasteful. The kitchen was very functional.

This hotel was very clean and modern. We really enjoyed the layout with the kids bunkbeds up top. It gave us more spacious room.

Nothing. We stayed in three hotels in Japan and this is our favorite.

The property was perfect for a family of five: comfortable sleeping arrangements, amenities (kitchenette, two (!!!) toilets), storage, and spacious living room. Clean facility, convenient location, polite and kind staff. Would definitely recommend and happily stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The large family room was a big highlight, spacious, very modern, and perfect for traveling together. The beds were comfortable, which made a big difference after long days of sightseeing. The location was excellent, with easy access to the train station, making it simple to get around. We also loved that it was on a quiet street, with a lovely café right next door. The area felt very safe and peaceful, which added to our overall comfort. Highly recommended.

There was nothing we didn’t like. Everything met or exceeded our expectations.

No breakfast, but nice places around to grab a coffee. room lovely, very comfortable, wide and with many appliances.

The room was high, 8 th floor, and the hallway from elevator to room was open air (cold) and with grille. Not happy taking in account my children and they being noisy. Also there were no common spaces to sit or relax. just washing mashine roo,

The room is modern, spacious and comfortable. Space is optimized. Kitchenette and refrigerator were very useful. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Reading light was far from the bed.

Very nice hotel in central Kyoto. Room was great for 3 guests (2 rooms: 1 with 2 bunk beds, another with 2 twin beds. Two toilets were very useful. Also had a living room area so we weren't on top of each other.

Wish rooms had their own combo washer/dryer.

Great large room. Nice Shower, good WiFi Comfortable Bed good linens. Easy to walk to Subway. Next door to a great coffee Shop for breakfast and coffee/tea. Good Laundry Facilities

The A/C worked great and power outlets were next to your bed frame.

The pillows could had been much softer.

The hotel was spacious, far more spacious than most hotels in Japan. It was also quite easy to find and fairly close to one of the stations.

We paid a fairly exorbitant amount for the room — which is expected in Japan. But what was most upsetting was that despite the large price tag, and a room empty for an early check-in, they stilled charged us per hour of early check-in. This felt like blatant greed because the room was already prepared and cost the hotel 0$ to let us settle in the room. Yet they charged us money despite having already paid upwards of $800 for 3 nights. They look at you as nothing but. a wallet and it left a sour taste to an otherwise great experience in Kyoto.

The neighborhood in which the property was located was fantastic - such a quiet location and great food options within the vicinity. The room itself was very clean and comfortable; we felt very at-home. We also loved having the option to do laundry.

It was small but very beautiful, boutique feel. Rooms were well equipped and good size for a family of 4, with bunks for the kids. Kitchenette was complete and had microwave, kettle and fridge. Staff was warm and welcoming , at one time helping us out with an issue we had with another hotel in Tokyo , helping us communicate and sort it out. It’s located in a very quiet area of Kyoto close to nijo castle and about 8 min walk to nearest metro stop. I’d definitely recommend Koko for families.

Big room! The location was very good. The staff is friendly, helpful and spoke English. The washing machine and dryer worked very well. We really enjoyed our stay. The bd was very comfortable. There is a small grocery store down the street and a number of large grocery stores within walking distance. We would return.

The couch was not very comfortable for me. I asked for folding chair ? and that did the trick for me.

We had a wonderful stay at KOKO HOTEL Residence Kyoto Nijo Castle during the third week of October. The location is unbeatable—just a 6-minute walk to Karasuma Oike Station—making it easy to explore Kyoto. Our room was spacious and spotless, and the staff were friendly and even helped us ship our luggage to Tokyo. We also loved the nearby cafés like Le Petit Méc and Bread & Espresso, as well as the excellent Italian restaurant Bonsai 1877.We enjoyed our stay so much that we returned for another three nights during the last week of October—and it felt just as welcoming the second time. The staff even remembered us, which made our return visit feel extra special.
