On second day they cleaned the rooms and left in the whole corridor a bleach stench that didn't gone for all my permanence.

The hotel does not offer luggage forwarding assistance nor can you leave a bag after check out. No kettle in the room and no on site laundry was a bit of a bummer at the price.

Location was excellent. Only 10 mins walk to JR Kyoto Station. Less if you are fast walking person like me. Breakfast is nothing to write home about. Only bread, green tea, coffee, orange juice, onion soup. Quite frankly, the breakfast is the poorest I have experienced in any hotel. But there is a catch! The breakfast is a complementary service. Usually, such low price per night do not include breakfast.

The hotel is very close to Kyoto Station, which turned out to be a fantastic choice. Since we arrived by train, it was easy to walk to the accommodation. Right next to the station is the bus terminal, allowing us to explore the city easily. There’s a bus stop right by the hotel that takes you to the city center and one of the main attractions. From the accommodation, it was also easy to visit famous sights in the surrounding towns. There are several shops nearby, and a shopping mall is just next door. We were able to rent two one-bedroom units for the price of one two-bedroom unit. The room is small but comfortable

Looking out the window, all you could see was the wall of the neighboring building just about 20 centimeters away.

It was small, no onsen, more expensive then much better hotels.

I liked how close it was to Kyoto station, it’s about a 10 minute walk. I liked how many convenience stores were near, as well as the Mall next to the hotel. The staff were nice, the room was clean.

There was no laundry room at all which is really inconvenient especially when staying for a longer period of time. Sadly I couldn’t get an extra pillow either.

Putting the hotel name in Google maps gives you two different options to pick for some reason. It’s about a 10 minute walk from Kyoto station, right next to the Aeon mall. It’s about a 5 minute walk from two separate bus stops in separate directions—both buses I used to get where I needed to go. Very convenient! The hotel did its job. I didn’t need somewhere fancy to stay, just a place to take a shower/bath, rest, and sleep. It’s small but it’s great on the budget. I paid less than $200 for 3 nights so it was definitely worth it.

It wasn’t clear how to close the window! I was trying to shove it close and had to call the front to ask how to close the window. There’s a little button. Also, they don’t take your luggage after you check out just fyi!

This property is very well located, a short walk from Kyoto station. A simple breakfast was included in the price of the accommodation. I asked for a room that was as quiet as possible and that's what I got. The room was excellent, very comfortable and with a good desk to work at. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was clean. Overall I was very pleased with my 4 night stay at the Hotel Excellence Kyoto Station which really did live up to its name.

It is small like any other japanese budget hotel. So I wouldn't say I didn't like it but for a person who is 180cm, it was a huge struggle to move around.
