Good location and good looks, staff were pleasant. The Japanese decorating was beautiful.
The double bed’s headroom area was under a shelf so you couldn’t sit up.
Good location at fantastic staff that goes above and beyond. Everybody was above and beyond helpful and front desk. Staff truly helps you I would say more than they are paid for and they really go above and beyond to help you with any task. I would hire any of them anytime.
Our room was moldy and we had to relocate to sister property. Staff was very helpful and they help us to move and facilitate the move as quickly as possible. The hotel we got after this was actually very nice and very comfortable and clean.
Cleanliness and friendliness of the Staff
Little far from city area and main kyoto station though you can use taxi or buss in 14 minutes..
The size of the room and softness of the mattress was a 10/10. Way larger than most Japanese hotels.
The hotel close but not directly in the main area of the city so while it didn’t take us too long to get there we spent a fair amount of money on buses or time walking to get places. The main issue however was the humidity issues in the room. We think the fan in the bathroom wasn’t working properly and we found black spots on the curtain. We requested a new one from front desk and they said they didn’t have an extra. Also the room was either freezing with the dehumidifier on or extremely muggy. Finally, this hotel is only staffed between 1pm and 10pm so keep that in mind.
Great self check-in, and we arrived earlier so we used the luggage area you could lock your bags together with a key they provided, very helpful. Bigger than usual room for Japanese standard, clean, comfortable, great location. No complaints
Accomodation mix between traditional and modern style, location and value. Very, very clean.
It was in a good location , very clean
I think it was the purpose of the hotel but there was no real Service , everything was Selfservice . Not bad bit for me I like to have a not more of a service
The room had a wonderful traditional ryokan feel - cozy, calm, and beautifully designed. It had everything we needed, and the neighborhood was quiet yet close enough to walk everywhere. The space was also very baby-friendly (at least for our crawling baby!) - our little one loved exploring the different levels of the room, with the low bed making it feel like his own private playground. The hotel also provides a spacious baby crib, which was a big plus for us since most hotels in Japan only offer smaller ones suitable for newborns.

Modern building with a calm and inviting entrance lobby. Iced tea was always available at reception. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were very friendly.
Our room was on the side of the building, so it was dark. Bookshelves at the head of the bed made it impossible to lean against the wall.
Staff was very nice and accommodating. The water and tea provided was great. The location was great and area landmarks were easily accessible by foot.
I didn’t like that there was no staff after 10pm and not many restaurants open late in the area. It was a long walk from the Kyoto train station.
I loved the fact that there was enough space in the room for the three of us. The location is great - within the walking distance from everywhere. The staff and the people staying there were friendly.
There are no cooking facilities.
Clean and simple place. Japanese style beds were very comfortable. Excellent location within walking distance from Gyon and the market, across the road from the train station.
Clean, easily accessible, convenient.
A nice place to stay in Kyoto, central and convenient to reach different sites. The proximity of other Kabin hotels is convenient for other services that are not available on site.
I would choose other Kabin hotels as they have more on-site options - gym, cafe, clothes washing, etc. This was a basic place to sleep and spend the time during the day outside.
It’s simple and clean. Feels like a brand new hotel room
There is no laundry in the hotel. And their chain hotel’s laundry facilities are always occupied.
Nice location, clean and good space in the room comfortable bed
Random but kept bumping head on lower bed as shelf is over ur head when sleeping
The size of the room was nice, but, I feel they could have been more efficient with the layout. The placement of the mattress should be moved. The tv could also have been placed infant of the bed. The staff were excellent though!
The room could have been a little brighter. The only facilities were a microwave downstairs and a vending machine. A washing machine would have been very helpful.
The room was beautiful, spacious and had a lot of natural light. The position was perfect for both reaching the main destinations and for the metro.
The room was really humid. We had to keep the dehumidifier on the whole time.
